"Maison Simba" is the private residence of an European Interior Designer. Three suites in the house, each with private terrace, and a Javanese teak house with private garden and fully equipped kitchen, are available to visitors. Three salons, one indoor air-conditioned and two on the terraces complete the set. Each room is decorated with textiles, furniture and objects found by the owner mostly in Asia. Breakfast is included in the price. Lunch and / or dinner can be ordered 24 hours in advance. "Maison Simba" is located in a small Balinese village surrounded by magnificent rice fields. The pool overlooks a river and its natural tropical vegetation. Away from the busy Seminyak, "Maison Simba" is the ideal starting point for discovering the Island of the Gods.

I had the most lovely break in Maison Simba.
It is a wonderful place to relax and to experience true Balines hospitality. The staff and the very charming owner made me feel at home in paradise.
It is very difficult to describe the beauty of the house, the tasteful decoration, the eye for detail and the wonderful gardens and swimming pool.
The pictures don’t do it justice… I say you should go and discover it for yourself. I will certainly return on my next visit to Bali!
Thank you so much Eric and staff for those beautiful days. See you soon!

Hard to put into words how truly special this place is. You are instantly transported to a world of refined elegance and charm. The interior Design is fascinating, a mix of antiquities and treasure from all over the world. The location is PEACE perfect peace in old Bali. You overlook a fresh river and green rice fields. If you are looking for THE special place this is it.

We had such a great time. This place is amazing. The decoration represents a life of traveling with such a good taste. You feel in the same time you are at home or a guest in a friend's place. Three rooms for couples, a guest house for family where all details are so well thought for your intimacy, comfort and quietness. Don't hesitate, go and see that charming home. Mr Eric and his staff will do there best to welcome you.

Beautiful and luxury colonial guest house! I was staying there for the weekend and there is no word to describe this place... An amazing experience in a great decor and comfy Singaporean house. Located in a charming area between ricefields and jungle, Maison Simba is composed by 3 Indonesian styling rooms decorated with passion (antic art pieces and modern style from travels around the world) and 1 rustic Joglo, traditional house.
Friendly staff, homemade and delicious fresh food, comfy living rooms and plunge pool... Enjoy your stay and let's share a dining time with Antoine, owner and interior designer.
I recommend this place to anyone wants to take some rest for few days and enjoy the surroundings of Tabanan in a refined atmosphere!

Very nice host and great place to stay for a few days, a lot of activities and restaurants nearby and the house keepers are very pleasant and respectful. Located a few kilometers from the beach (easy to access with motorcycles) and morning view of the volcano behind the rice fields.
Would recommend!

Maison Simba is really an exceptional and unforgettable place.
Located between rice fields and a quiet stream that you can overlook from the swimming pool, the atmosphere that the owner has created there makes you feel at home right away.

The colonial interior design is really amazing. All three suites have their own personality thanks to the furniture and the different objects that decorate them. You can't go wrong with any of them!
The cosiness and calm of the open living room in the ground floor makes you never want to leave!

Having lunch on the terrace is also a wonderful experience. The local food was done in a very refined and delicate way. It was really among the best we had in Bali!

The personnel is a big part of the experience at Maison Simba: extremely nice, always smiling, always willing to help you in any way since the moment you arrive. It was a real pleasure knowing them.

We will certainly go back to Maison Simba on our next trip to Bali! :)

Fascinated by colonial architecture for years I am travelling to feel this so special way of comfort open on Nature.
Once you stay in front of the door of MaisonSimba you can feel you are about to enter in an unreal place.
Welcomed with fresh water and refreshing towel as you were crossing the bush for hours you already enjoy the feeling of being treated well.
Listenning to charming music you do not know where to put your eyes until the moment Mr Eric arrive and give you such a special feeling of being back!
Being back in a place you feel home, a place you would have been good enough to decorate as he did and might be still doing!
From the hidden pool to the comfortable rooms it seems like never ending.
Lucky enough to share the Mansion with few friends we enjoyed the place at its best.
Can not recommend you enough to have a few days in a place you won't forget.
Huge thanks to Eric and his family!

For my first trip to this magical island, I joined two other friends as guests at Maison Simba. This newly built house is the dream of our host, a Belgian who fell in love with Bali ten years ago. He built the four-suite guesthouse two years ago and now welcomes visitors with an experience that I imagine is unmatched anywhere on the island.

There certainly is no shortage of accommodation choices in Bali, ranging from hostels and backpacker camping to economy hotels to full-blown five star resorts. We visited two of these remote and design-centric hotels for drinks during out two week stay, and while they are, for some, worth the $400 or more a night price, for me there is no comparison. Simply put, our host offers an experience that combines luxury, service, and a local flavor you won't find anywhere else.

"It feels like time has stopped here" was the way one of my companions expressed the feeling of a stay at Maison Simba. Any review must first give a nod to the owner's refined sense of interior design. The house (three suites, each with its own full bath, dressing area and private sitting porch, plus a separate authentic Teak House with its own bath, kitchen and garden) is filled with antiques and treasures he has collected, and his eye as a historian and connoisseur very much add to the feeling of luck and privilege one feels in being a guest. But make no mistake: there's nothing old and dusty about the place. Comfort and convenience are all present, with wi-fi, fine bedding, saris and pool robes made from native fabrics awaiting...so many thoughtful touches. And service is top-notch, warmly offered by a staff of four who attend to every need. I knew we were in caring hands from the moment I arrived and was greeted by our host and his staff with cool water and a scented face cloth to wipe the travel day dust from my eyes. (Indeed, this refreshing greeting was repeated every day, as we were welcomed "home" by natively-uniformed housemen after sightseeing forays.)

Should you wish to dine in at Maison Simba, you'll sit at a finely set table with antique porcelain and locally-crafted table settings. Our host is a superb cook as well as a warm and knowledgeable host, and we had meal after meal featuring fresh fish, delicious sauces, healthy vegetables and homemade sorbets. Don't miss the chance to ask for dinner one night to be a traditional Balinese meal cooked by Maison Simba's beloved housekeeper. It's authentic and delicious.

There is a beautiful pool adjacent to the house, with private views to the local river and jungle. There are vistas of the green rice fields near the house from every window. There are the songs of birds and roosters each morning, and the synchronized hum of frogs each evening as the sun sets. And above all, there is the proprieter, who will offer tips on everything from local craftspeople to the best and least-visited temples and beaches. Plenty of restaurant advice as well, from good spots for the native snack Nasi Goreng to choices for haute cuisine and hot spots for drinks and dancing. (He will even arrange a driver for your stay, and I would highly recommend this: the traffic in Bali is a special condundrum.) Our host truly loves Bali, and his enthusiasm and charm make a stay with him unique. The whole experience was like being welcomed to a stately but warm Manor House by the jovial owner. I really did feel to the manner born.

Bali itself is a wonder of green, lush landscapes, excellent scuba diving, and rambunctious local life. It's calm at times, bustling at others, but always fascinating and beautiful. I will be back, and when I do, I'll make sure I have a suite at Maison Simba for my stay. Having been spoiled from the first, I can't imagine Bali without this gorgeous home and welcoming ways.

Christmas and New Year with friends in Bali. A beautiful house which is designed as a black&white colonial house Singapore is surrounded by rice fields. The views are breathtaking, the pool is stunning and the rooms are heavenly decorated. It felt like paradise spending 12 days in Maison Simba.
A warm and a delightful host who gave us a great welcome and his amazing staff who made the stay beyond perfect.
Excellent breakfast either on my own balcony which is part of my room or in the big outdoor living room with the view on the pool. Breakfast is served anytime when it is requested the night before.
Dinners and lunches when we stayed home were always outstanding. The food is always fresh and homemade. Nothing we asked for, was too much.
I have discovered many beautiful sites of Bali all because Antony was so kind to guide us and gave us excellent information and a bit of history.

Visiting Bali has been a dream for nearly 25 years, Now that I have been there and stayed at Maison Simba, I left the Island with the most loving and amazing memories. Nothing I could fault, the weather, the food, the people, the house and the stunning rice fields.
It was a holiday of a lifetime. Thank you very much for this incredible experience which has always accompanied by great sense of humor and laughter.

Yours truly.
Abby
