We had a Room 231 offering a very nice view over the racecourse, it is a twin room with too large beds, the bathroom was nice and seemed refurbished not long ago. I can understand that the original door to the bathroom is very good so there was no need to replace during the refurb, but perhaps a new lick of paint or a good wash (especially from inside) could make it better. The housekeeping did not refill the shampoo bottle on our arrival day, I managed to squeeze the last bit of it out on the first night, but was disappointed to see no refill on the next day. Reception provided me with a small shampoo sachet in the evening with a promise of refill of the main bottle in the room next day, which did not get refilled during our stay at all. Reception was also kind enough to provide a new / second door key card, which seemed to gone from our room (we left it in the electric card slot). I was just a bit surprised and worried that the receptionist, who on one hand was very pleasant and friendly, did not ask my name or see an ID to provide me with the room key card. Some items for the coffee and tea making facilities were not replaced during stay, we had to ask housekeeping for these when we seen them in the corridors. Breakfasts were the only nicest meals we had throughout the four night stay. There was plenty and many choices. Rest of meals, were not nice at all, mishmash of food, not cooked properly, this was probably down to our event organiser, but even if the cheapest option was made by our organisers, the quality and style of the food did not match this type of hotel level quality.…
Visited Lingfield Marriott for 2 nights celebrating dads 80th. 2 days racing included. Hotel excellent, Neve front desk amazing looked after our every need, Dody (apologies if spelt wrong) barman perfect cocktails. We had great time thanks for everything
We stayed on night as a couple in a King Racecourse View room. The room was very comfortable but as the hotel has been open 13 years now, the rooms could probably do with a refresh. Since Covid the Hotel Spa hasn't reopened unfortunately. We ate dinner in the Cyprium Grill restaurant, the food was good although service could have been better. In fact my wife's meal was comp'd because it was described as coming with one type of potato accompaniment and came with a completely different potato accompaniment. This is a hotel I generally like and rate, having stayed many times. I would certainly stay again. We didn't have breakfast as we left at 5am to catch a flight from Gatwick Airport.
Single night, 3 x couples. Nice rooms, lovely staff. Had a dinner, B&B package which was good value. Dinner was excellent- really good food, and the buffet breakfast was fine. Staff are great, very friendly and the gym/pool are worth a visit. Well maintained place, will happily use again. Great option if attending Lingfield races.
There are definite plus points to this hotel, The staff are very helpful professional and friendly, check in / check out was smooth and the bar in the evening was vibrant (which some are defiantly not), the location, assuming you're going for the racing, is really superb and it's very clean in addition the view from the room on the 3rd floor corner was brilliant featuring both the track and the golf course and car parking was good and free. . The not so good aspects are without doubt how dated the rooms are (apart from the fact that they have installed a single USB plug and the bathroom looked like it had had some attention) and the clunky TV service which is most disappointingly stuck in the 90's. it looks like this service has not updated it's options since installation and apart from the VERY VERY limited channels it offers it constantly freezes throughout viewing time no matter what channel you are watching. So if you have an expectation of even basic Freeview or Sky this is unfortunately not the hotel for you. I have to admit I had just come from the Hilton in Brighton the night before which has just been refurbished to a high level so the differential was significant and yet I had paid less for that sea view room of a much higher standard than this one. The franchise owners (whoever they are) really need to spend some money on the property capitalising more fully on their excellent staff, starting with rooms and the TV service offered to match the prices they charge! I'm really surprised this even meets Marriott's current brand standards and if it does I'm equally disappointed in them.…
Very easy to find in a beautiful area Plenty of space to park Check in was easy & greeted by a lovely receptionist. Room was very spacious, clean & super comfy. My only complaint is that there was a hole in the curtain & a few little holes in the nets. Breakfast was lovely, again staff lovely. Food was very fresh & tasty. If in the area will be back & use the facilities. Was too tired this time sadly
Our 4 day stay - CAMC business was excellent. Room large and clean. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, so impressed. A very special mention to Dody (bar) exceptional service, such a lovely cheerful disposition, friendly and outstanding customer service.
We have stayed at this hotel since it was first opened The room we had last night had the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever encountered It was absolutely knackered/ worn out Room 214 The hot drinks procedure at breakfast a step backwards also - self serve queuing for a pump thermos The staff are very pleasant though
Staying in the above hotel for new year was extremely disappointing. We were given a room with disabled bathroom on 3rd floor. The toilet leaked into the toilet pan the whole time we were there. The shower wasn't very hot, if I'd been disabled I would have only just been able to reach the toiletries on offer. I used the swimming pool to find the disabled toilet and shower were out of order, two other toilets were out of order and the two other showers both had broken locks therefore you could not shut the door properly. The jacuzzi was closed because chemicals had been put into it in the middle of the day! The whole experienced wasn't great. Another family had been waiting to use the jacuzzi for an hour and a half but still the maintenance guy hadn't come to test it. On spending the evening in the bar and being told they would be serving bar meals we were then told they'd sold all the food and could only offer sandwiches or pizza for a New Years Eve dinner. This was at 7pm and we'd been in the bar for about 40 minutes by then. The restaurant had not been open for lunch or dinner because of a dinner dance going on which we choose not to attend because the price was prohibitive. I wouldn't recommend this hotel again.…
Booked a king size room in November for myself and husband. When we arrived the young lady on reception said we have upgraded you to a room with 2 double beds, I said thats not an upgrade and its not what I booked, she said well we are fully booked. We went to the room I checked our booking and I was right so my husband complained and the man on reception said he would see what he could do. We were then given a king room over looking the race course which was usually £50 per night extra. I then found out from my bank notification that an extra £100 had been pre authorised from my card. I went back to reception again and apparently it was my fault I had not read the card on reception ..... perhaps when you check in they could point this out to you. We ate in the restaurant and thr food was good. Thr bed was too soft for us. No still water in the room only sparking and the fridge had been removed. Couldn't go out on the balcony as it needed repairing. Air con didn't work. Returned to our room at 5pm housekeeping hadn't been. The restaurant was closed but there should have been bar food available but the chef walked out. Overall very disappointed with the hotel.…
