Lovely family run hotel. The staff were very friendly. The hotel is very dog friendly - which is great and they allow dogs into the bar area. The room we stayed in was a little dated. We ate dinner in the restaurant - the food & service was excellent

We booked a night at this lovely hotel for some much needed rest. We booked the Seaview Suite and we were not disappointed. The view was stunning, the room/bathroom was spotless and the decor was bright and modern. We enjoyed a 4 course meal at the restaurant whilst watching the sun set over the bay and then breakfast in the morning. The evening meal was far better than the breakfast but we still enjoyed it. It was lovely meeting Bruce the dog that I had read about in reviews. He is so cute. Thanks Ardagh Hotel and Restaurant for a lovely stay.

We booked into Ardagh's restaurant for the final night of our holiday in the West of Ireland. It's a haven of warm civility, white table clothes, sparkling candlelight and gracious hospitality. A definite balm to battered 2020 spirits. My tian of crab was fresh and light, but I ended up also pilfering one of the husband's tempting tempura prawns. My main course of stuffed rolled chicken breast and accompanying aubergine pot was the kind of special twist one looks for in a kitchen. The star of the evening, though, was the husband's once-a-year lobster - well worth the visit even without the rest. Deserts were equally good. We shared the half-bottle of Sancere. The bill came in at Euros 140, which seemed like good value in a restaurant of this quality and ambience.

We had a wonderful few days here and were able to bring our dog along too. It’s a perfect base for exploring Connemara and the west coast. We ate all our meals, apart from lunch, in the hotel. The food was top class. Staff were friendly and we felt safe in that the hotel were adhering to Covid restrictions and sanitising protocols. We paid for a sea view room and felt it was worth it for the view. We hope to return at some stage.
