Wow. We just got back last night and feel compelled to review Baros ASAP. I cannot underestimate how wonderful this Island is. We stayed in a Water Villa with private infinity pool (we'd stayed in one in Oct 2016 -truly divine room). From the moment we arrived (even at the airport), we were greeted by welcoming staff and introduced to our Villa Host, Vishu. He was absolutely fabulous & provided us with all the information and recommendations to make our stay memorable. He was on hand for our every request, organised everything and messaged us back always without delay when we had a query. Perfect service! We took advantage of the morning Yoga classes which took place on the Lighthouse Restaurant deck at 7:00 a.m. with Kamal. The classes were so enjoyable! Great for those experienced at Yoga and also for beginners (like my husband who was reticent at first but now LOVES it). We enjoyed them so much we decided to book some one to one lesson with Kamal. We had a choice of where to have them - either our room or the Spa. Classes were appropriate to our level of skill and he took time to explain each move and the benefits. We are now super Yoga fans! Highly recommend if you're visiting. The Spa is absolute heaven. We had two massages we enjoyed the first so much. Both of us said that they were the best massages we'd had ever! Huge respect to the ladies who provided our treatment. And the ginger tea that we had following our massage was simply divine - I asked for the recipe! The restaurants were truly impressive with fresh produce and delicious flavours. The Cayenne restaurant held 'themed' nights - we enjoyed a Maldivian food evening held outside by the sea on our first night. Quality of the food was fabulous. My husband had a tuna steak chargrilled which was exceptionally delicious. We had a Teppanyaki experience/meal at the Cayenne on our final night. The Lighthouse restaurant offered fine dining and it did not disappoint - one of the best lobster bisques I've ever had. The chef came around to speak to people at the end of the night which I thought was a nice touch. The Lime restaurant is where you go to enjoy one of the best buffet and a la carte breakfasts ever! Very impressive and I'm missing having tuna sashimi followed with their special 'Maldivian Breakfast' for my first meal of the day already! The Aqua Centre was great also. Really fabulous staff and broad selection of activities to suit all. We sponsored some coral and went out with Shuga (marine biologist) to gather some coral in order to stick smaller fragments to a frame which is then placed back into the sea, to grow, and to create a new nursery area for young fish, rays and sharks. She was so great at explaining everything to us. We also tried Windsurfing (the name of the gentlemen I've forgotten!!). Although our wonderful teacher was great - I was useless at Windsurfing. My husband got to grips with it better than me. Really good fun! All in all, I cannot rate this place high enough. This is our second time and it did not disappoint. To all that contributed to our stay at Baros, a HUGE thank you. We miss you! And we will be back!

Hotel's Favourite
We arrived at the airport and was met by the representative that immediately escorted us to the speed boat. We did not wait. We were at the resort in 25 mins and then the experience of a lifetime started. We have been to the maldives more than 15 times and this resort was the best we ever experience. The room was gorgeous and spacious and the pool was the right temperature and beautifully private. The best part was the excellent service that the Manager -Shazeel and the Front office manager gave us throughout the stay. It was our anniversary and they arranged the sandbank dinner for us that was so romantic. This is the most romantic hotel and the food is delicious. The restaurants were out of this world. From the breakfast to the elaborate dinners. Prawns and lobster every night if you wish. The lighthouse served the best cocktails for sun downers. The setting is beautiful. We can’t wait to be back. Thanks to the great team at Baros. This exceeded all our expectations.

This was our second end-of-year trip to Baros and we loved it at least as much as the first time around, so will definitely be back for more. Besides all of the obvious positives mentioned here by other users (convenient location within close proximity of Male, fantastic beach with a great house reef, excellent food etc) what makes this place truly special is the staff who go out of their way to ensure guests are pampered 24/7 and nothing is impossible for a relaxed trouble-free stay. My special thanks go to Henry at the marine centre, a highly skilled diving instructor and a gifted teacher who turned my two kids from complete novices into confident open-water divers within just four days, and to Kamal, an exceptionally talented therapist at the spa who dealt very professionally with all my muscle aches and pains so I felt much rejuvenated by the end of our vacation. See you next year Baros!

Excellent service from the warm & welcoming staff from the moment we arrived at the airport until the moment we left. All the spaces on the island are meticulously maintained, beautiful gardens throughout and fabulous little nooks throughout to enjoy the stunning blue water. I loved the towels & chilled water bottles at each of these little areas. Cocktails at sundown at the lighthouse were fantastic with tasty nibbles. All the dishes prepared at the various restaurants were lovingly prepared with excellent flavour and lovely presentation. We especially loved the selection at breakfast and the Thai food was so yum! All the fish dishes we ate were expertly prepared. We had the romantic dinner on the beach which was really cool but a little windy - they did move us in the end. Loved the floating breakfast - so much food and beautifully presented. The decor was beautiful and we loved the sails bar with the tropical garden setting - super chill and comfortable to lounge in. The room was beautiful and we loved being over the water however the plunge pool was a tad too chill for hanging out in - great to refresh. Loved that they had an age limit of min 8 years. Loved having the Whatsapp access to the butler. Would suggest using glass bottles for water provided. Iko at the dive shop was amazing and they had a great program there! Overall, wonderful experience. our host Maashiq was very friendly and accommodating. The covid testing was very efficient as we moved to another resort. No hassle at all and we felt very covid safe with all the open space and distancing. Tips: Ask for a room where the wind isn't blowing directly on to the patio.
