Stayed last week for a business meeting. Staff, service, & facilities were superb. Anything I needed or asked for was never a problem for the friendly staff. Rooms were so comfortable and warm (which was a pleasant change from the previous hotel I stayed in). Food in bistro is good home cooked food with a great choice. Breakfast was served to my table as numbers were low and it was delicious. I will be booking the lodge for all future meetings and stays. Thank you

I’ve debated writing this as this hotel has been somewhere we have loved. I won’t go on too much but the room, for the money, was extremely poor. I’ve always loved it but this has put me off going again. Take a look at my photo of the bed spring. It was right where I got out of bed and reception told me I should have told them but we got back to our room late. Why didn’t housekeeping see it? I felt this room was the furthest from reception and also the least used.

Dear mickthemoo. I believe one of my managers called you to discuss this incident and was under the impression he had resolved the issue with you. But if not please email management@thelodgehotel.com so we can investigate the matter further. For your reassurance the mattress was replaced immediately with a new one. Thank you and please accept our apologies again.

Stayed in The Lodge Hotel when on a Business Trip to Ireland. Room was comfortable, there were a few issues with my trip: 1. Bathroom is quite small and the shower water was very cold at 5:00 a.m. in the morning and didn’t warm up, even after running the water for 10 minutes or more. 2. The second night was very noisy as there was an old age pensions dance downstairs 3. Zero view from hotel window

Huge thank you to the very kind receptionist and manager who arranged a comfortable chair in the room for my disabled father; made for a very enjoyable first stay for my parents. The staff were friendly and welcoming - looking forward to a return visit.

We had a 4-night stay as part of a coach trip from England. The food was great and there was plenty of it. The staff were friendly and smart. The hotel was spacious and clean. On the Wednesday we were entertained by George Murphy a musician and comedian who was brilliant and very funny. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel, and if we were ever in the area again would certainly stay there.

The best thing about our trip was the attentiveness of the staff. The hotel breakfasts were fantastic with porridge, pastries, cereals, fresh fruit salads, yoghurt and the full cooked breakfast. We were introduced to white pudding and fried potato bread. Sometimes the same staff were present at breakfast as at dinner the night before. Special mention must go to Victor who really looked after us well. I am coeliac and need strictly gluten free food. The dinner menu had loads of GF options - at least 3 of the puddings were GF so I was not fobbed off with a chocolate brownie. I can recommend the sticky toffee pudding. The GF toast and GF porridge were great. The restaurant and reception areas have recently been decorated and are lovely.

Stayed for 4 nights and couldnt fault the food. It was presented well and tasted delicious. The staff, especially Keith, were extremely helpful. Nothing too much trouble for them . We were with a coach party and ate separately from other hotel guests, staff were efficient and friendly. Room was clean and plenty of tea/cofee available. I also had a white chocolate and raspberry muffin from the coffee shop was delish! There is a large carpark, conference facilities a beauty salan and just a 10 min walk from town centre. It backs on to Asda too. Thank you, once again Keith, for making my stay at Lodge hotel so much easier!

We had a few friends over from england, we booked in to the sunday day time cravery. The food was delicious and fresh. The cravey also had a great variety from the starters right up to desert, our friends loved it. The staff were very helpful and well presented. Would definitely recommend the lodge hotel to anyone.
