As a treat to celebrate my son’s birthday, I booked the Sunday 5 course carvery for our family of 4. Thought it would be nice to try somewhere we hadn’t been before. Surprised initially that we had to pay before our meal! Very odd! All courses were buffet style and much of the food was uncovered, allowing flies to hover freely! The food was nothing special - I found a piece of gristle in my beef which was tough. The carrots and parsnips were over cooked, the Yorkshire puddings soggy and the stuffing tasted processed. The starters and desserts were mediocre. For me the most enjoyable part of the meal was in fact the coffee downstairs in the foyer! All in all, an underwhelming and disappointing experience which should have been a lovely family celebration. Will not be back again!

Following the frenzy of a wedding at the venue the day before, I felt totally indulged in a morning after spa. The ladies imbued calm and relaxation in a beautiful modern environment. I had a lovely facial and back massage and left with not only my physical self restored. Special thanks to Sharon. This spa is among the best.

Three night stay. The staff were very friendly. Our room was very outdated. It was dark and in need off an overhaul. It would have been good if we had a full length mirror, and a light next or near the only mirror we did have. The bathroom was in a bad state of repair. The shower was weak and leaked. There was mould all around the shower screen and the sink had a large crack. Breakfast was very good - really good selection. Overall, the stay was OK.

Service was fantastic - if you are looking an out of the way quiet relaxing time this place is perfect. Rooms are a little dated but clean and have everything you need. Dinner was fantastic and nothing was to much trouble. Breakfast was very well laid out and great selection. The girls at the spa were fantastic and went above and beyond as well to suit our needs. Will definitely return. Would recommend booking treatments at the spa it makes it just that little bit more relaxing.
