The reviews you will read reflect the warmth of hospitality, outstanding breakfast experiences and perfect location for exploring the North Coast.
Wow! What a spectacular B&B in Ireland! From the tea & homemade scones awaiting us on arrival to the beyond 5-star breakfasts (you won’t need to eat lunch as the breakfast portions are both delicious and generous!) to Angela, the most gracious, kind-hearted and helpful hostess, you will want to find any sort of reason you can to stay at Dromore House. It’s one of Ireland’s finest!
A truly excellent hostelry. In a very quiet rural location with easy access to Coleraine and the Causeway Coast. Fre parking on site. The house retains its historic features but has been discretely modernised. We were in the four-poster bedroom (the bed was very comfortable) with a spacious bathroom (walk-in shower). The hostess was very friendly and welcoming - nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was outstanding - the best of our three week road trip! There is a very warm and comfortable residents' lounge, complete with honesty bar - which was very welcome at night cap time! The house has extensive grounds, which we didn't really have time to explore. We highly recommend Dromore House and would be very happy to stay there again.
We stayed 4 nights in the Old Scullery, a self contained and cosy apartment 'below stairs'. There was the most thoughtful attention to detail throughout: it was all designed to make guests feel as comfortable and welcome as possible. The breakfasts were just superb: everything you could want and more. As there was a daily special we were literally spoilt for choice. Angela was a kind and attentive host: nothing was too much trouble. She was full of useful information about the area; things to do and places to go,and where to eat. Angela genuinely cares about her guests and just wants them to have a wonderful time. We would recommend this b and b to anyone and would love to visit again.: it is excellent value, very comfortable, impeccably clean and well-run. It is also a good location from which to explore the spectacular coast.…
Visited in September a great location a lovely quite place just a few minutes drive from Coleraine rooms are excellent clean and loads of space breakfast caterers for all taste with masses of choices and we'll cooked and presented
A hidden gem in North Antrim, this is our second time staying at this Amazing place. From the time you drive in through the gates you can feel yourself start to relax. Dromore house is spotlessly clean, with beautifully manicured gardens overlooking rolling countryside. Angela who you'll meet on arrival is Amazing with a "nothing is too much trouble" outlook. Angela actually makes you feel that this is your house while you are here. I have to also mention the breakfast, from homemade wheaten bread and potato farls, if you enjoy breakfast here if will certainly set you up for the rest of the day.
Stayed for one night in Studio - Old Scullery. Quaint small cottage like experience in what was the former servants space in the basement. Excellent facilities with two large single beds and good sized bathroom along with a kitchen/utility room. Great if you wanted to combine self catering with B&B accommodation. Very clean and well thought out. Breakfast was a real highlight. Food was delicious and beautifully presented with many thoughtful extras. Angela, the host, was extremely welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Gardens were lovely with views across the countryside. Will definitely be back for more of the same!
From there moment we arrived at Dromore House we breathed a sigh of relaxation. The setting and house were stunning, from the beautiful bedroom with Egyptian cotton bedding to the gorgeous roll top bath. Angela our host was most welcoming and her attention to detail was second to none. From the roses placed in the bathroom to the Sweetpeas by the bed. Our breakfasts made by Angela using high quality produce by local suppliers was delicious and was complimented by home made Wheaton bread, homemade granola accompanied by delicious freshly made fruit compotes. Each day a special was offered eg. Eggs’s Benedict or Florentine, homemade pancakes, it was all divine. We were close to a lot of restaurants and places to see, all recommended by a knowledgeable and friendly host. We look forward to our next booking in August.…
A delightful, homely country house in a quiet but convenient location for exploring most of N Ireland. Angela is a really welcoming host who offers exceptional, delicious home-cooked breakfasts with produce from a bountiful kitchen garden. We loved the various compotes to go with fresh fruit yoghurts and granola. Imaginative breakfasts every day in a welcoming dining room which felt like home. Wonderful linen and towels with luxurious duvets etc. Angela is so helpful, friendly and keen to make our first stay in Northern Ireland as perfect as possible. A lovely atmosphere and a fabulous place to stay. We were so lucky to find this gorgeous retreat.
My wife Sandra and I stayed here in for 2 nights in July. We enjoyed it very much for the following reasons: - it is very quiet and one can sleep in countryside silence. - it is spotless and has no carpets with natural flooring and rugs throughout. - it has great Wi-fi throughout with a cosy sitting room for guests. - it is very convenient for reaching attractive coastal walks including the Giants Causeway - breakfast is exceptional and here some detail might help. The orange is freshly squeezed and not from a carton. The first morning, I had the Ulster fry which was non greasy with top ingredients including top quality sausages and black and white pudding. (Orange juice from a carton and low quality sausages are a bugbear of mine). The second morning, I had a non-cooked healthy breakfast of granola, fruits and high quality bread. I also has a luxurious porridge with sone whiskey added to it. Both breakfasts were beautiful and faultless with subtle and tasteful touches. The room we stayed in was clean with a high quality mattress and linen and a generous sized bathroom. The shower area was almost twice the size often allocated - it was circa 100cms x 60 cms. (Another bugbear I have are pokey shower areas where I need to wrestle with the shower door). Here was the opposite - ample space and modern fittings that worked smoothly and blended incredibly well with what is a traditional country house. So one has traditional character and warmth along with comfortable living all under the same roof. The host Angela is very competent, friendly and welcoming. She signposted us to local restaurants in a very discerning way, and had a good sense of what we might and might not like. Equally she had good suggestions as to where we could visit nearby. All this she imparted with clarity, patience and that word again - discernment. We found the price point per night to be very reasonable. To conclude: this is a delightful and charming place with an incredibly competent, energetic and resourceful owner. Crucially, the host is very well-travelled which informs the professional and extremely high standard throughout. A great experience.…
Dromore House is a masterclass in how a country house bed and breakfast should be. Charming and knowledgeable, Angela has thought of everything to make the visit delightful and comfortable, anticipating everything: scones and tea the afternoon you arrive, shortbread for later in the room, fruit cake miraculously replacing the shortbread! Bedrooms and bathrooms are fabulous; delicious bedlinen, painted floorboards - like living inside a magazine but not intimidating. Because actually it feels more like what it has also been: a family home - belonging to the family you wish you'd grown up in! Full of books, photographs, pictures, china and glass and handsome furniture. Log fire on a cool evening. Beautiful garden with furniture in just the right spot, great view from the lawn. Breathtakingly good breakfast: fruit such as rhubarb from the garden or apple stewed with elderflower, yogurt and granola, home made jams, the best home made wheaten bread and that's before the outstanding poached eggs, black & white pudding etc, or a breakfast special of the day including spot on scrambled egg. Proper cup of coffee with frothy milk too. Honestly, this place is magical.…
