Restaurant- Re-Heated Chips on meal, mushy peas rock hard. Restaurant/Bar - I had 1 pint of Guinness which wasn't great, thought l'd try again but they had run out. Early Saturday evening, bad form. We thought we'd try go into the town, as Hotel had run out of Guinness, that whilst no fault of the hotel was not to be, we could get a taxi company to bring us into Portrush but none would take us back. So an early night it was. I was in quite a bit of pain on my back as a result of the bed. Breakfast - bacon was like cardboard, did not enjoy.

Never again, was greater by pleasant staff but once we got to the room I was less than happy. Don't get me wrong, we got a deal but I wouldn't stay in that room. We were transferred to a superior room which was no cleaner but better than the last. Stayed the night and went down for breakfast, the function room transformed into a breakfast room, kids serving food and it was awful, tinned mushrooms and tasteless everything else Never again guys

Good Evening Glenn B, Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback, we value all feedback whether good or bad. We appreciate your comments about the room's cleanliness and will review this with our team and provide retraining where required. We do have quite a young team however they are hard-working and we believe that they are an asset to the hotel. I apologise that you felt your breakfast was not up to standard and I will certainly review this with our chef. Kind Regards, Guest Relations

We stayed in the Magherabuoy House Hotel for a weekend in September. We had a great room with a lovely view. Breakfast both mornings was very good. We ate in the restaurant the first night and it was so good we cancelled a booking we had with another restaurant and booked in again for the second night. Great food and reasonable prices. Staff are all friendly and helpful. We hope to visit again soon.

Yesterday evening we had a meal in the hotel, it was really really busy, we had a table for 3 booked at 6:30pm. We arrived at 6pm and were able to get our table early but advised that there would be a wait as the kitchen was extremely busy. staff were very polite, neat and tidy, William and Natasha were very visible and everything seemed very well organised. Never even noticed the wait for the food and most importantly it was delicious. It looked like every other customer enjoyed their food and the atmosphere was really good. 1 had the steak and chicken, it came cooked perfectly- medium, another had the chicken goujons and she never gave over about how good they were. I had the lasagne, massive portion but delicious.

Stayed recently for two nights. After reading some negative reviews I was really pleased with our room. I'm not sure what some people expect for the price paid. We were on the first floor room 217. We overlooked the garden area. The room was spacious and clean. Yes a bit dated here and there but clean and comfortable. Beds could probably use new mattresses soon but they were fine. Brekafast was lovely. The staff while young were all very professional and friendly. The location was excellent. It was nice being so close to the centre of portrush whilst being set a mile back from the buzz of it all. We will definitely stay again.

Had a family meal last night. 4 adults and a child. Food was outstanding. All freshly cooked and on the table very quickly. Also very reasonably priced. Lovely ambience and the staff were lovely. Would definitely recommend. Mixed grill was outstanding. Lasagne was amazing and you would have thought you were in an Italian restaurant. Portions sizes were huge. Will definitely be back.

Stayed one night. Tired entrance and treated with stale smell in foyer. Bedroom bed saggy and very squeaky, hola hoop crisp on floor, dust on all surfaces especially bathroom radiator which had obviously not been cleaned in months. Corridor floors repaired with tape and dirty. Breakfast limited and cold. Better hotels in area so I recommend to avoid

Very unpleasant the hotel is dirty from door entering into lobby & continues throughout the hotel, wallpaper peeling off walls stains all over! The room we’d breakfast has most bulbs missing & had wet table cloths covering god knows! We didn’t sleep under clothes room, opted sleep on our coats! The walls were all stained & the bathroom was filthy with silverfish all over it, hairs etc. The staff were all friendly and trying their best but on one evening in bar number of them being young were very inebriated!

Stayed here for 2 nights with my 5 year old and 10 week old baby. The hotel which was built in 2006 is in a really good location but definitely is tired and needs some refurbishment. The carpet in our room had a hole in it and there was an orange stain on the bedding, cracks in some of the bathroom tiles, staining in the sink and the shower leaked into the bathroom floor as the seal of the divider was worn away. However despite these things the room was clean and warm and spacious. The beds were very uncomfortable (hard/lumpy) and would really need replacing. Tv in the room had Netflix but the internet didn’t work so we couldn’t use it much to my 5 year olds disappointment! Breakfast food is really lovely but again the dining room/tables/ crockery/cutlery etc is all so worn and tired and really needs replacing. Cooked breakfast was delicious though and couldn’t fault it! Had dinner the first night in their own resturant Dawsons bistro, staff were lovely and friendly however food was mediocre. Most staff we came across in the hotel were very friendly however the woman who checked us in on reception was anything but, seen me struggling with a child and her suitcase, a large wheeled suitcase, baby strapped to my chest on baby carrier and two small bags and didn’t offer to help or have someone help us to our room! In summary not a bad hotel for the price and a really handy location to the north coast with good parking but really desperately needs a refurbishment
