Detailed Reviews
We were welcomed by Odalys' sisters as she was away in Canada with her husband. What a great casa, breakfasts/dinners were delicious and the rooms very nice and clean. They sent 2 bicitaxis to pick us up from the bus station and they also helped us booking a scuba diving trip for the next day!
We will never forget our stay there and our late night conversations, thank you for everything!!!

We can not begin to how to tell you how thrilled we were to have stayed at Miguel and Odalis's casa. They are amazing hosts with so much to share about their beautiful country. The meals were ridiculously well presented, unbelievably delicious and incredibly large!! (They think we eat like birds in Canada, by the way....) The rooms were impeccably clean and no attention to detail overlooked.
Would recommend their B&B to anyone who wants to experience the "real" Playa Giron.....grass roots style.

Hosts Miguel and Odalis are really nice and welcoming, and speak fluent english. They really went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The room was fresh and clean, and quite big with two comfy double beds and a nice bathroom. It's nice and quiet outside during the night, until nearby roosters decide it's about time for people to get up. We had mosquitoes in our room, but it was our fault as we left the door open too long while sitting outside chatting and drinking rum... No problem as we found bug spray for sale in the nearby trailer kiosk. Dinner was great, we had beef one night and chicken the other. We were treated with exciting side dishes in addition to the more usual ones. Breakfast was good too, with lots to choose from and the fruits were fresh and tasty. Recommended!

The rooms and bathroom are impeccably clean with air con and a fan, and breakfast was old too (indeed all or Casa breakfasts in Cuba were good - this place was no exception).
We felt we were let down by Odalys and Miguel, sadly. They had us down in their diary for the following night, so asked us to stay in their aunt’s casa (La Gallega, which is just as clean, in fact nearer to the beach, and the host was far more welcoming).
There was no apology, no assumption there was confusion, just that we had come on the wrong night (I will add I’m fluent in Spanish so nothing was lost in translation). As we were booked for three nights, Odalys expected us to return. This was inconvenient for us; we would have simply preferred to stay where we were as were settled (and it was better located)!
However, her aunt with whom we were staying informed us that Odalys would be really annoyed if we didn’t return and so asked us to go back for the second and third nights. It wasn’t our fault Odalys got her dates wrong, but we also didn’t want to start a family feud. Indeed, that day Odalys had come by to check when we were coming so she was expecting us, which would have made not staying with her a little awkward.
Other annoying things were that any question I asked seemed to put them out. For example, I asked Odalys if we could have breakfast at 7.30am the next day. She asked me, ‘Why do you need to be up so early?’ I was really annoyed I had to explain myself. I said we liked to get up early but if 8 was easier for her... she confirmed it was, so we had breakfast at 8! I know, the customer isn’t always right here.
We felt like we were told off because we didn’t eat the ham they served for breakfast, something along the lines of: “We noticed you didn’t touch the ham at all. We have bacon today but don’t ask for it if you’re not going to eat it.”
All in all, clean place but sadly the hosts ruined it for us. Go to La Gallega instead.

Perfect English spoken by these very friendly hosts.
Miguel and Odalis make you feel very welcome, the food is excellent and the rooms amongst the best casas we have stayed in
Would definitely recommend this Casa!
Snorkelling and scuba is great at this location, and a lot of Cuban history too.

Miguel and Odalis saved us from sleeping in the park in Trinidad when our advanced booking was not honored and no casa particulars where to be found during the extremely busy New Year season end of December 2015 in Trinadad. So off to Paya Miguel speaks English. The food is too plentiful. Rooms are cleaner than the Cuban hotels we stayed in. Location 10 minute walk to the beach or museum. Miguel can help you find rides or tours. We especially enjoyed the Cuban nature tour with baby owls, crabs, bats, constricting snakes and cenote swim.

My wife and I arrived at Playa Giron bus drop off and the Miguel and Odalis had already a guy to pick us up and drive us to the place - very convenient after a long bus trip. Than they always had excellet food prepared - actually the best we had in Playa Giron and maybe evenmore the best of our cuba tour.
We wish them the best of luck for the future and eventually we will revisit somewhen in the future ...

We stayed with Miquel and Odalis on a recent bicycle trip through Cuba and found their casa and their company to be terrific. Our room was large, comfortable and modern. Miquel and Odalis have visited Canada multiple times and speak English very well, which was a pleasant change from struggling in our limited Spanish. The food was superb and abundant and our hosts warm and engaging. The nearby beach is quiet and idyllic - we could have happily spent more time there! We recommend this casa highly!

Stayed with them in October 2013 when we were touring Pigs'Bay.Lovely A.C. bedroom with refrigerator and private bathroom. Car could be in a secluded place. These two can cook wonderfully. Ask them and you will not be disappointed.Breakfast is a feast!
We have wonderful memories of this place. Lovely snorkelling not far from their home.
In the evening possibilities to walk to the beach and bathe after a long, hot day of travelling.
Dinner served in privacy of their garden. Go there and see for yourselves! The local museum is very interesting. tells you everything about the successes of Che Ghuevara.
