We are wedged between the pohutukawa-clad cliffs and a minutes stroll to the broad, flat expanse of Ohope Beach. The specialty of West End, a quiet no-exit road that separates the motel from the sand and ocean waves. The real gem the spacious apartment that has uninterrupted and expansive views of Whale Island, White Island and East Cape. Choose to enjoy the sunrise over East Cape from the cosy ness of the lounge or the fresh air of the deck. The lounge allows all guests to view the changing sea scape through all weathers all year round. Our elegant boutique apartments are share a north facing views to West End from a covered deck. Sleeping is up to 4, with all modern facilities, including aircon. The third large penthouse apartment sleeps up to 6 and has 180 degree views from West End to Whale Island to East Cape. LOCATION We are located at Ohope Beach, in the Eastern Bay of Plenty, New Zealands Best Beach on the northeast coast of the North Island, 6km east of Whakatane. There are several bush walks around the area all within walking distance of our motel. The beach stretches for 12 kms from West End to the Port Ohope spit.

Fabulous motel - not the most modern but clean, comfortable, and roomy. Fantastic location on dead end street and over the road from The best beach in the world! And the Ocean View is genuinely pet friendly. We discovered some other places were “pet friendly” providing your pet stayed locked in your car or the motel owner’s garage, but at Ocean View our wee pooch was welcome inside the unit. Our first ever visit to Ohope - but we’ll be back!

We've been twice now and will come back. Cheerful manager. Great location and yes...there is a lovely sea view.Older style motel.Spotlessly clean. Well equipped.Amazingly comfortable bed. Very reasonably priced.

We only stayed here one night in the 'Studio Unit' but were made so welcome by the warm & friendly owner. The unit had orange juice in the fridge + biscuits & chocolate !!!! Yum .... The owner recommended places to go just down the road for dinner & for breakfast the next morning which was so handy for someone from out of town. This unit was immaculate & everything spotlessly clean with a view to die for. Highly recommend this place.

My wife and I stayed here two nights and really enjoyed the property. We had a studio unit that looked across the street directly at the ocean. The unit was spotlessly clean and had several kitchen appliances that would be handy if we had stayed longer. The owner was very amiable and the pricing was very reasonable (about $75 US a night). The location couldn't have been better, very easy walk to several decent restaurants. Very nice beach walks. Just a wonderful stay. Would highly recommend.
