The family room is huge, clean and with nice view. The hotel is very customer oriented, everything is done with high standard. So we feel comfortable from the moment we check in and during our stay. Breakfast is tasty, healthy and with a lot choices. Our expectation has been exceeded.
The hotel that definitely exceeded my expectations! Excellent hotel and service in every way. The owner/manager Gil is very friendly, kind and always helpful to share great advices. The room was perfect - very clean, comfortable, and the view from the window and balcony - unforgettable!...Breakfast was really delicious, very varieted, served on a beautiful plate. I spend there 4 night stay and I look forward to visiting there again.
Rheinhotel exceeded our expectations. I booked our 3 night stay directly with the hotel via email and from the moment of first contact Gil, the owner / manager, was a delight to deal with. When we arrived, he asked about our plans and suggested a couple of changes which we gratefully accepted. The hotel is located directly across from the KD dock which was very convenient for our excursions. Our room (#7) was clean, spacious and well-appointed. And it has a balcony overlooking the river! Seeing the lights of Burg Katz before falling asleep is an experience I will never forget. The included breakfast was amazing: cheeses, salamis, smoked salmon, fruits and veggies are served on a 3 tiered tray accompanied by a plentiful bread basket and there is a buffet with cereals, eggs and sweets. If I could give a rating of 6 out of 5, I would.…
This is the second stay over the years and it just keeps getting better! The hotel is exceptionally clean, and is situated overlooking the Rhein River. There are two rooms which have balconies, and other rooms too have lovely views. We enjoyed the balcony room this time. I believe it was #2. Our room was spacious and comfortable and a beautiful balcony with outdoor furniture. Just loved sitting and watching the world go by. Breakfast on the bright enclosed dining area consisted of baskets of assorted breads, meats, cheeses, fruits on a beautiful tray, along with individual pots of hot coffee. Inside a guest could also get eggs, cereals, yogurt and other fresh fruits, cookies and cakes to bring back to the table. Thank you again To our host Gil Velich who always had a smile, helped with travel plans or suggestions on sights. This hotel is our favourite along the Rhine, and we hope to have the opportunity to visit again.…
The hotel is really beautiful and it was a wonderful experience. Thanks a lot to Gil Velich, who runs this exceptional experience. 1. The morning breakfast is tremendous. The table is beautifully decked with a wide range of options from vegetarian to meats. The spread is wonderfully decorated. Tea & Coffee are served on the table along with bread baskets and some exquisite bread spreads. It just starts your day in a great way 2. The owner and manager Gil's is very hospitable, We came with Children and had to take and extra room, which eventually turned out to be a very nice experience. He is so helpful, friendly and kind. He told us about few things to do and took extra care of our needs. 3. The location. It is located on the banks of river Rhein, and looking on two castles on the opposite side. The ferry as well as river cruise are 30 meters away from the location. Which is really incredible. There is also a train station nearby, which is 100M walk and very convenient 4. Things you can do. There are so many nice things to do for a short trip here. You can visit the Rheinfals castle, the walking street, on the opposite side if you go by ferry - you can visit the rodelbahn, and also take the river cruise. 5. Scenic and Calm - You will not get such a beautiful and unique view and setting. You'll walk away with some very memorable images and walk to come back 6. The rooms are modern and cozy. While the bathroom is small, its just enough and serves the needs well. The bed and bath was well kept and very clean. The room had some very nice quaint looking fittings…
We stayed here for a couple of nights and loved it. Mr. Velich, the proprietor was a pleasure to work with. Super easy communication when booking from the US. We had a really great, large room with a big balcony overlooking the Rhein. Breakfast was terrific in the glass enclosed atrium facing the river. Mr. Velich greeted us each morning with a delicious breakfast. He offered to book our Rhein river cruise tickets for us while we spent the morning touring the ruins of nearby Rheinfels castle. Outstanding service, highly recommended!
excellent hotel, very good location. breakfast was very good, room was clean with a view to the rhein river. the owner was very kind and helpful. very close to the fairy to move by car. parking close to the hotel for 5 Euro per day. recommended
My wife and I stayed 2 nights at the Rheinhotel in late September 2021. Our room had a view of the river. It was right at the main square in St Goar and just a short walk to the river boat docks and the ferry across to St Goarhaus and Loreley. The breakfast was excellent. The best part was the front desk. They were very helpful with advice on where to eat and what to do and how to get there. We especially appreciated the advice on walking/running trails to the neighboring towns.
I made a ridiculous mistake by booking the Rheinhotel St Goar when I really wanted to book the Auf Schoenberg at Oberwesel where I had stayed before.Rheinhotel was acceptable but in a different lleague (lower) to the Schoenberg at Oberwesel. Room was ridiculously small for a so called luxury room and we were convinced we were given a smaller room than we had paid for. Both dinner and breakfast were very nice in the main restaurant overlooking the Rhein. We did not experience the alleged poor service from other reviewers. OK stay but we felt it was overpriced for price
Looking back to our stay at Rheinhotel Sankt Goar in Mai 2016, we found the perfect home base both on paper and practice. Before Sankt Goar, we stayed at Mainz as home base for Mainz, Speyer and Worms. From Mainz, Sanke Goar is a short one-hour slow train ride, one train per hour. Train station could use upgrade for wheelchair (or heavy luggage) accessibility. After that a short walk down slope to Rheinhotel Sankt Goar. We booked early for room #7 with small balcony (large balcony room is #2) and room is perfect for Rhein view and relaxing. Gil Velic is friendly and helpful. First we explore the charming town and Burg Rheinfels. Next day we board the Köln-Düsseldorfer (K-D) RMS Goethe or another boat upstream to Rüdesheim, sailing past Burg Pfalzgrafenstein, Rheinstein, Mäuseturm, and Bingen. From Rüdesheim, we ride up to Niederwalddenkmal. Back in Rüdesheim, there are two options, return cruise back to Sankt Goar or by train to Sankt Goarshausen (REWE grocery store and bus to Loreley) then by ferry back to Sankt Goar. During the rest of our stay, we visited Stolzenfels, Klobenz (and Deutsches Eck), and Marksburg on one day. Then Burg Eltz and Cochem on another day. Finally we made it as far as Aachen and Köln. From Sank Goar, Frankfurt airport is about 90 minutes away by train with transfer at Mainz Hbf. Gesundheit! …
