The hotel is a really large and prominent building as far as I could tell vs the others in town. Modern and mostly well thought out. When you tell people in town you're staying at club med you feel a little like you're royalty for staying there. It is super well designed when it comes to skiing. Ski in and out, as has been mentioned by others, which is wonderful when you soon realise how annoying it is to walk around in ski boots. However not all of town is so well thought out, and while there are many ski lifts and carpet lifts to get you to places, you'll find that although you can ski into the hotel you'll still have to walk a fair stretch from some areas in order to benefit from the ability. The hotel offers a truly awesome food experience. Having a buffet meal for each meal is already a treat, but when the quality of the buffet is similar to restuarant food then you just can't help but look forward to the next meal. The hotel also has a very useful shop where a person can grab a few things like clothes that you might have missed out on, and their prices are quite reasonable too. I loved every moment of our trip, whether it was on the amazing slopes or chilling at the hotel and I can't recommend it enough.…
botoom line stay was good. It is aparent that this club concentrates o the entartainment on account of other issues, so you can expect far better shows than other clubs, but much less as far as food, cleaning or service is concerned.
Straight off the plane 40 to 50 minute wait for our transfer, then loaded us on the wrong private transfer. The driver had a call sometime into our journey. Took us back to the airport had to wait for our transfer to arrive and do it all again 😞 and you guessed it we almost had the same problem while leaving the hotel! Twice how many times can they get it wrong 🤷🏽♂️ reception check in was swift room was dirty on arrival and stayed that way our entire trip. Food looked good was always cold or if you were lucky luke warm. Service was not good while dining unless you were served by one of two servers. Who were very good. location was perfect. Snow by the truck load. entertainment was not very good 1 of the singers was awful honestly really bad haha thankfully Val Thorens has loads to offer as the hotel didn't unless you wanted to pay. All inclusive are just two words at club med. It was not what we expected at all will never darken their door again and has put us off doing all in while snowboarding/skiing …
For the best bartender go see Gabby!!! (4th floor even though she belongs in the 3rd floor bar). She knew all the drinks and cocktails nobody else knew and gave the best service. Super friendly and fun!!
This was our 3rd visit to Val Thorens Club Med within one year. It has became our favorite ski destination. We really enjoy the vibe of this club and the easy ski access. We like Bruno (guest relation manager), he was very helpful and friendly. Our favorite ski instructor is Nicolas. Our room was spacious, light and always nicely cleaned. Plenty of hot water for showering and good water pressure. We enjoyed the limited number of small children in this club (our kids are all grown up, so we prefer the mix of mainly adults during our holidays). There are few things that could be improved: lack of gluten-free items on the buffet, the prepared meals could show if they contain gluten/dairy/sugar (like the soups & sauces - it would be much easier for the guests), the staff is sometimes little slow in collecting the used plates during meals and the ski lockers get crazy busy when getting ready for skiing lessons (just before 9am and 2pm). It would help to separate the departure times by 5-10 minutes for each group, so not everyone has to meet their group at the same time. The ski rental shop has limited inventory of powder skis, I had to rent mine from outside the resort. Also the rental ski shop hours could be improved (earlier in the morning and during the lunch break). But these are all just little things. Nothing that would ruin our stay, more like suggestions about making it better. We love this resort and already booked our next year stay, March 2021.…
