I stayed at Hotel Le Sherpa in early March 2020 for a week-long first time ski trip. I had a fantastic stay and can highly recommend this hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay, particularly with regard to dietary requirements. I stayed on a half board basis (breakfast and dinner): every evening meal was delicious and there was usually a choice of at least two different main course dishes. The ambience in the restaurant was lovely and the hotel bar area has a very cosy feel. There is also a terrace area (close to the bar) where it's possible to bask in the sunshine with a coffee or cocktail after a day on the slopes. In addition to the reception and restaurant / bar staff, I also found the cleaning staff to be very helpful. The hotel also benefits from a small hot tub, sauna and steam room which can be used each afternoon. I enjoyed making use of the sauna on a couple of occasions and thought it was a great option if not spending most of each day skiing. The only downside was the locker room: it's lacking in space and is a bit chaotic when busy. Also, I attended ski lessons each day which were located much further from the hotel than I'd anticipated. Fortunately the hotel is close to a bus stop at which the local free bus stops every 20 minutes (it drops people off around the town). It's worth checking the distance from the hotel to ski schools, etc, in advance of a trip there! All in all, I would highly recommend this lovely hotel.…
This is an excellent hotel in a good location. Ski in certainly and almost ski out, but with a short uphill walk. The room we had was a little small and the furnishings a bit tired, but the view from the balcony was great. Where Le Sherpa really wins is the delightful staff and the outstanding food. Whoever trains the staff deserves full praise. The cheese trolley was superb and we left several pounds heavier than when we arrived. The hotel is small enough to get to know your fellow guests and there was a lovely atmosphere in the lounge area.
We stayed at Le Sherpa for our annual Ski holiday, with 2 other couples. Ski in and Ski out at the highest resort in Europe... so snow guaranteed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and nothing seemed to much trouble for them. We were half Board ... good breakfast buffet selection and dinner was great every evening. I would go as far to say that it would be very difficult to find somewhere better in Val Thorens when it came to the quality of the food and service. The apres ski on the west facing sun terrace was a great way to finish the day. The rooms are traditional and clean. A couple of minor negatives. The Hot tub was never hot and they could do with putting air freshners in the ski locker room. Overall I thought it’s an excellent 3* hotel and we will be back and more than happy to recommend. …
We really enjoyed our week long stay at this hotel in Val Thorens. Our room was very comfortable and clean and the staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. The food was excellent and the bar area was cosy and relaxed. Good wifi. Ski in and ski out(very short walk up to the slope in the morning) was great. Would highly recommend.
The hotel itself was very good. The rooms were adequate size for out 2 parent, 2 child family. There is a bath and shower that work very well. The bar is very nice for gatherings and drinks (but a bit pricey), and the outside terrace area is really nice if you don’t plan on skiing. The food is delicious and you can opt for choices such as fondue and child’s meals if the food is not wanted by the kids. The rooms were too hot for us, but that was sorted by asking at reception. The eating room, however, is hot so I would recommend bringing non-ski clothes to wear for meals. The route to the skiing is a 1 minute walk from the terrace uphill to the top of a slope, so it’s very accessible. Would highly recommend.
