The good thing about staying at this campsite is that it is quite close to the nude beach. At night it is also very quiet, you don’t hear the noise of the bars and other night places. You can be naked all the time if that is what you prefer or you can get dressed when you feel like it. The things I did not like are: nobody told me they charge extra for towels when you rent one of their accommodations. Who travels with their own towels. For the price they charge, towels should be included. The sheets on the beds are very poor quality and they barely fit the mattresses. The fitted sheet came loose all the time because it was too small. I was there for two weeks and I only received a new set of clean sheets on day 12 of my stay. Never received a new set of towels, it could had been nice if they had at least brought clean towels. They knew I was there for two weeks. Another thing nobody mentioned is that when you check in they retain a deposit of $200 euros. If you do not clean your room when you leave, they will take $50 Euros for cleaning. Again, for what they charge, they can afford to hire extra people to clean. Don’t make guest clean their own rooms. That seems very poor taste. The internet is extra, $38 euros for two weeks. Not very high, but again, today even the small mom and pop b and b offers free internet. The public bathrooms around the camping area do not offer free toilet paper, you need to bring your own. My room had one single roll of toilet paper for two weeks. I had to buy extra paper myself. Little things that could make a much better experience, but it seems they care more about making more money than having a better customer service. Finally, if you go out at night and meet a nice person you want to invite back to your room, you can not. Guests are only allowed during the day from 9 am until 10 pm. Terrible policy considering everything starts after 10 pm at Cap d’Agde. If a registered guest brings a friend, it could be easy to let them in as long as they are with the guest and let them stay at least 4 hours. That could make a big difference. I plan to comeback again to Cap D’Agde but I will definitely be staying at another place where I feel more like I am at a hotel and not at a restricted facility that is trying to get every penny they can.

Had a lovely 2 weeks at this campsite this summer. We are a family of 4, with 2 teenage girls (15 and 13) so we were unsure what to expect of Cap D’agde. Campsite was relaxed and right next to the beach, we stayed in 1 of the Otis mobile homes, so near the entrance to the family part of the nudist beach. The girls are now at an age where they like to roam around together, meet kids similar age etc. After a few days we were happy to let them go off to the beach, village etc alone or with other teens same sort of age. The whole place seemed pretty safe and not the swinging place I feared (maybe COVID has stopped the swinging practice). Staff helpful and polite and also respectful. I suppose one thing I was a bit surprised at was the amount of textiles, I thought the campsite would be almost exclusively nudist so this was slightly surprising. The 4 of us like to spend our entire holiday nude so we were probably a little out of place at times. The girls are now at an age where they are quite aware and conscious of the people around them, so it took them a while to get used to being nude around this site. Anyway not a major issue, just not quite what I expected. I thought this site would be exclusively nude. We all had a lovely time, my wife and I had the relaxing 2 weeks we needed and the girls met lots of similar aged teens and were well occupied the whole time. We will definitely return here.

I agree with other comments made that this place is good for anyone wanting to be nude all the time, that it has a great beach (though activities to the E will be distasteful to many) and that the management are keen on making money - e.g. you are charged to use the wi-fi. I would like to add that they rapidly helped me when my car battery went flat. Chap came out with a portable battery and soon had it going.

Great Campsite! Minor issues but they will not stop us going again soon!

Visit was in June just after a mini heatwave, very pleased about that as it was hot enough. Couple of cloudy days but used these to explore the area. Cap D'Agde and Bezier town.

Onsite shop, cafe and restaurant are OK, somewhere to go if you don't fancy a walk in the heat.

Showers, toilets and beach very near. Walked to the beach most days and the areas on the west and central beach are free from the odd lot but take a walk to the east if you dare.

Costs - Campsite cheap, pitches are a good size and includes electric hook up. Beach clean, sea warm!

We went to the concrete town area and were initially shocked but after the first day it became a 'whatever' and we went back on a few occasions for walks, dinner, breakfast and drinks.

Tents, vans and bungalow areas, some spots (10%) need a tidy. Main town, some areas a bit tired need a revamp has apartments, bungalows and hotels.

Separate reviews for eating establishments.

It is true, there are many parts of Cap d'Agde which are now for "adoults only" activities. On the beach and in the center too, so it is not for families with children. But the whole day nudity is possible everywhere. If you have a family, chose and other naturist village or campsite, but for couples, I understand that it can be good.
I would prefer if smokers would not destroy the place.

The René Oltra has different quality toilettes and showers, hopefully during the next period all of them will be renovated, because I had to walk a lot to find the best quality.
The staff is working, some of them could be nicer, or more patient, not a perfect place, but being naked nonstop is possible, and this was my goal. I understand the critics about it, and about Cap d'Agde, hopefully it will be fine in the next years, because the beach is amazing there.
The camp is quite okay, nothing special, I would recommend it for a longer weekend, if you like the active vacations, but because of the discos and bars and swingers it is not a place where you can find calm nature and singing birds.

Beatiful campsite with really great possibility of accommodation. We lived as a couple in Horus mobile house and it was great. There is very near to the night clubs and the night life is really nice comparing to other naturist villages we have been to. The only problem was a very poor Wi Fi signal.

The open minded living together with the naturism was very nice. Also the night live in the village naturiste. The concept of the village naturiste is perfect. The long and bright beach is fantastic. We will come back!!

I'm glad to hear that you had a great time experiencing the open-minded and naturist lifestyle at the campsite. It's wonderful that you enjoyed the night life in the naturist village as well. The concept of the naturist village sounds perfect for those who appreciate this lifestyle. The long and beautiful beach must have been a fantastic feature of your stay. It's great to know that you had such a positive experience and that you're already planning to come back. If there's anything else you'd like to know or if you need any further assistance, please let me know.

I do read good reviews on Cap D'Adge, especially those who are here for an alternative holiday. You can basically fulfill most things here, however, many people are blinded by their excitement and especially new people to the area, who have never seen anything like it.
Whereas alternative lifestyle is acceptable here with most of the area dedicated to swingers and nudism the actual Rene Oltra camp site is very poor, with poor facilities and bad attitude from the staff.
The showers are over used and often cold, some have no lighting and others, despite being cleaned often remain dirty and smelly. Late at night they can be frequented by drunken campers and often are very poor and unclean.
The staff at reception are ok but not much more than that. The security staff are appalling. They are unhelpful, rude and arrogant. Often parts of the camp site are unmanned, so anyone can get on the camp site.
Overall, the experience is poor, the area is fun but very very dirty and dated. I am amazed at how many people speak well of the area, when clearly it would be shut down in the UK. Health and Safety does not exist here, with roads poorly repaired and buildings shabby and dated.
We will come back because we enjoy the lifestyle but we will not expect anything more than an expensive, poor camp site with poor facilities.

Loads of taxis around in Cap D’Adge (although I can’t say I have seen a lot waiting around at the airport to collect un-booked travellers. It is a very small airport. You can pre-book before you arrive at the airport. We have used A2 taxi, but they are not the cheapest. If you stay in the Pearl Cottages (we this recommend this a lot, even if it is just for two days) Rene Oltra will pick you up.
