On our way we experienced difficulties with our car and the host was kind enough to let us arrive and park early to look into the issue. During our stay the host aided in translating with the local dealership to describe our issue. Peonia at Home - Arrival, there is a gate, so they must know your exact arrival time to open it. If you have a low car, be careful. Our car is very low and we only scrapped a little on the exit. The garden is quite lovely and relaxing, there is a small pond with fish that my daughter really enjoyed. The lobby and breakfast have the most elegant decoration. Throughout the building there are original works of art. Check-in was very simple and the host even gave us a room upgrade! The room was comfortably large, while the bathroom was small. If you prefer to sleep in a dark space you will be happy to know there are rolladens! Unfortunately, when we were traveling, it was really hot and the fan didn't do much to cool us off. That is Europe in summer. Breakfast was the best part! Homemade jams, fresh bread, french press coffee. I would recommend a stay in this location during the cooler months of the year, I can only image it is magical.…
Cannot believe so many people have suffered the same as us. We were on an overnight ferry and only picked up the email that we no konger had the room wed booked weeks before. Plus wed emailed them re eta and parking. So to cancel because of overbooking.. allegedly... was totally out of order. All I can say is do not book with them as you cannot be sure the room will be available. Oh and by the way eed paid quite some time before out arrival date.
A beautiful house of historical interest as it once belonged to the Dreyfus family which has been tastefully modernised to a high standard. The town centre is a short drive away or a ten minute walk for the more athletic. The accommodation is comfortable and includes everything you need. The owners are most welcoming and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The breakfast is comprehensive and nearly everything is home made. On our stay the guests at the breakfast table were from Belgium and Germany while our hosts were French and Italian while we are English this made for an interesting meal and gave an interesting perspective on the different views on world affairs. Our one slight disappointment was not being able to have an evening meal on arrival but this was down to it being a bank holiday. We did however manage to find e restaurant in town. I would have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation.…
We stayed here for 2 x nights. We arrived in 2 x cars ( 4 x people ) and had the cars securely parked in the area behind the house, in the secluded garden. Nice and safe. The home is an historic building but is modern inside with the owners being an artist and an interior designer. Beautifully decorated and laid out in an open plan manner. Large hallway. Our room was lovely, but one thing we found was there was little storage space for your belongings etc. The room was also 'cool' and we didn't find the plug in heater that was stored behind the hanging / storage cupboard. No matter.......should have looked earlier !! The breakfasts are very special - huge table thats is absolutely beautifully presented. Lots of food - which is ALL home made. Its a delight. Fresh fruits, cereals, jams and honey, hams, cheeses, yogurt and sweet treats. plenty of tea and coffee too. The owners wait on without being intrusive and are very friendly and helpful. Very very clean, with comfortable beds. A little road noise, but nothing too excessive. A few minutes walk to the city centre too, so easy access.…
We stayed here to break our journey from Paris to Italy, and we were not disappointed, well presented property, with a comfortable bed (we were in the smallest room, but it did not feel to crowded) lots of detail had been put into the hotel, giving it an elegant air. The breakfast my partner is still talking about, was exceptional, one of the best we have had in a boutique hotel.
