Quite possibly the worst hotel experience we've ever had! I could spend hours writing this review but instead please see below for highlights of our worst hotel stay yet! Lobby lounge seating was filthy and looked like it had never been cleaned. Mold in showers One extremely flat pillow per person. We requested for extra pillows, these took two days to eventually arrive! Sun loungers on their 'private beach', which they open to the public, have to be paid for 25 per day or 50 at the weekend! Staff are unthinkably rude. Room service doesn't exist. Pool is lacking any type of atmosphere, if you want a drink its in a plastic cup and you have to order it in the very odd bar in the restaurant. Breakfast is utterly poor. Sweaty cold cuts of meats and cheese. Juices that are mainly sugar syrup. Coffee is extremely bitter if there is any! Eggs are either neon yellow or green. Did I mention the staff are rude? They have a 'coeliac corner' during breakfast, which you would assume would be gluten free products. It is not! Massive allergen issue. If you have a problem there is no 'sorry about this madam/sir', the first response is 'do you want to speak to a manager?'. Which when you say yes, they tell you there isn't one to talk to right now. Sorry just to point out again, the staff, rude. Tea and coffee in the room, but no kettle or mugs, just plastic cups? Room door let in all the sound from the lobby every morning. Could hear every door slam at night and so barely slept all week. Lack of toilet roll. No joke, toilet roll doesn't seem to get replaced in the room. We resorted to taking from the multiple baskets in the other toilets as there was plenty there! The only positives are the electric bikes that you can rent locally, not through the hotel. The lovely gentleman at the beach bar. And that's about it! Please avoid! The money they're charging and the experience you are getting is unfair and quite sad. This was my fiances first time in Italy, after listening to me hype of about how beautiful place it was for years. He was devastated and not wanting to return. Give your money to anywhere else!

Overpriced for what it is.No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The room had a balcony, however it also had a glass wall looking at the lift, with people passing by,so no privacy at all sitting there! We booked dinner at the top, restaurant by the infinity pool, only to find out sitting is inside. The food was awful, no taste or presentation. However the staff was very nice. The infinity pool surroundings looked very much dull, everything was lying around, what a mess! After returning from an over commercialised beach, nowhere to wash off our sandy feet before entering the swimming pool. Not sure how this hotel has 5 stars, would give it max 3!

This hotel is just an empty shell with absolutely no soul or character. The interior is like a cold and empty doctors office and its not at all what I expect from a 5-star hotel. The breakfast was not good, the scrambled eggs were green and brown (when there was any left) and the coffee is the worst I have ever tasted. I drink a lot of espresso in Italy and have never disliked any of them before I arrived here. The restaurant where they serve buffet had so strong lights it feels like a cafeteria. Bedsheets had wholes in them. Towels were dirty, especially the one I borrowed for the beach. The women in the reception was never smiling and had no interest in their guests other than answering as quick as possible without showing emotions. The men I met at breakfast or the guy who helps the receptionists were very nice tho! All in all, the hotel is fine and I see the details they added in hope of making it a luxury stay but its just such a sad hotel that lacks all the finesse and soul of Italy.

BEWARE: this is not just an underperforming five-star hotel, it is just an outright scam. Let's see why. - service: every single member of the staff is either dumb or mean or both. The only exception is the guy at the terrace bar. During lunch, I once tried to order a main course and the waitress responded "people usually just go to the kitchen and ask for their dishes themselves, but if you really insist I can do that for you". One evening, around 10PM, I called the reception to request room service and I was responded that they don't provide room service and that I could go up to the terrace bar and bring a drink to my room on my own. Not providing room service is a blatant violation of five-star requirements - food: for breakfast you get a buffet of very low quality stuff. A couple examples follow. If you want "scrambled eggs" you can find a container of creepy yellow goo that is either overcooked (as in stone-hard) or undercooked (like watery). Same for the bacon, there are some undercooked slices that are like boiled and some unchewable leathery slices. I called in advance to let the hotel know that my girlfriend needs gluten-free alternatives and they stated they would have provided them. However there was no trace of gluten-free items at the breakfast buffet except for fruit, ham and chickpeas. A member of staff proposed some industrially bagged very low quality gluten free bread. Uh, they also have unpeeled cucumber slices. Tons of them. - infrastructure: the room was ridiculously small and completely different from the one I booked through their website. They added the least they could to comply with five-star requirements (e.g. there was a small boiler in a corner of our wardrobe so that you can't complain you have no boiler). There were no bedside tables, so you had to use the bed headboard as a table. The "gym" is ridiculous: it's a 5 by 5 meters room with a couple of treadmills and no bench nor weights. - hygiene: the rooms are dirty, the stairs are dirty, the hallways are dirty, the whole place is dirty. When we arrived our wardrobe stank. A friend of mine found a dead cockroach in her room, told it to a member of the cleaning staff who responded with fear and removed it only when she insisted. Terrace tables are covered in mold on the corners. In 10 days there, I have never seen anyone cleaning common areas like stairs and hallways and you could see the dirt piling up day by day. We also found someone else's clipped nail on the floor of our room - "extras": if you want to park there, they are going to charge a stunning 18€ a day for an outdoor parking. Access to the beach is going to cost you an additional 25 to 65 euros a day for two beach beds. They even request a 5€ deposit to borrow you a beach towel. - swimming pool: the pool is swarming with kids that constantly scream, jump in the water, run around throw balls and whatnot. Around 4 PM they have some kind of annoying "dance" with high-volume music that won't let you even speak to the people around you. Not the place to go for relaxation. - terrace bar: this could be a nice place to spend the night, still, every day from 7 PM to closing time they have "live music", which is just this guy singing cheesy music (the same songs every day) to a backing track. Also in this case, the volume is so high you can't even read a book or talk to a friend Still, in case you made the mistake to book a stay at this cesspool and after reading all this you still plan to go, here are a couple advices: - you can park on a square in front of the hotel for a more affordable 4€ a day. If you don't pay that parking, you are going to get a 40€ fine, which is still cheaper than paying the hotel parking for 3 days. - there are other beach bathhouses close to the hotel, some are cheaper than the one the hotel runs - *never* have either lunch or dinner at the hotel, there are a lot of way better and cheaper restaurants close to the hotel

When checking in, the receptionist informed me that I am not allowed to park in front of the hotel. This was the first thing she said which I do remember, quite mean since we came a long way, and obviously I did not plan to park the car there for the whole stay... No one helped with our 6 or 8 bags, since there was no one there to help (I expect someone to be there for arriving guests in a 5 star hotel). Extremely high "additional costs": you have to pay at the beach 25-50 euros on the hotel's own beach (misleading on their homepage by emphasizing their own beach)! I have seen younger couples turning away from the beach because of these high costs. Plus parking fees of 18 euros per day! Pure rip-off The "fitness studio" consisted of three treadmills in the basement, absolutely no weights or machines, deception or false information on their website regarding these features! Nobody trained there! We are still talking about a "five star hotel" in Italy: Staff unfriendly, underqualified and disinterested. E.g. long waiting times at breakfast for the coffee, staff not trained, could not even count to two (no joke!) and the coffee was spilled over, staff partially from Sri Lanka. Nothing against Sri Lanka, but the training level of these people was worse than mine, I could have done much better with serving coffee, as a beginner! I had to explain him that two fingers (thumb and forefinger) means two (since he did not understand my language we had to give signs how many coffee we would need). They count different in Sri Lanka he explained to me, and he said that index and middle finger like the victory sign means "two" in their culture..... So at least the staff learned something during our stay. Clearly, the staff is a joke, but there was hardly any staff! Sleep quality: There was a bright light on our balcony which we could not turn off ourselves. Since the light was on half the night, we could not sleep well. Elevator with glass that haven't been cleaned for a long time, also upstairs at the bar and in the stairwell very dirty glass everywhere Crumbs under the bed were only removed after two days by the cleaning lady They are saving money on every corner, especially on the toilet paper (only one available, sometimes none if you go to the toilet in the basement Our whole balcony in the second floor was visible for everyone (!) from the elevator since there was a glas pane in the wall (no joke!) When checking out, the receptionist didn't ask how we liked our stay. I was so prepared for this questions but she avoided it, fortunately I have to say for her. She didn't care at all how we liked it. Check out like paying for bread at the cash register, unbelievable for a five star hotel! Total price very high. This hotel certainly doesn't deserve five stars! Who is responsible for this classification???

BLACK MOLD IN THE BATHROOM!!! showerdoor broken, so all the water is in the bathroom. On there Website: Beach: Complete with all comforts, the beach is for the exclusive use of Resort guests ; each guest has the right to take his own umbrella and deckchair kit, upon payment of a small fee. What the actually mean is, you going to pay a fee for THERE umbrella and deckcair and this is a minimun 25Euro or even more. Reception didn't do anything, you can talk tomorrow with the manager, really!!! Bad Service, Staff which does not now, if the jet in the pool are broken or not, don't clean the room properly. 5Stars?!? Seriously And an top of it, while I was complaining, the receptionist just picked up the Phone without an exused, I stood there like WTF!!! REALLY BAD SERVICE!!!

Hotel common areas very nice and breakfast is good with coffee / omelette etc to order as well as usual buffet Pool area was good and no problem with beds Staff seemed friendly enough but hotel was quite impersonal Room was very minimal which was fine and seemed very clean. Limited storage. but our bathroom was horrible. Big damp patch on ceiling and shower area just a bit Yeuch. We arrived late and only stayed for a couple of nights so didn’t bother raising this but on this basis the room Wasn’t worth the money. Other thing to note that the hotel is quite isolated And cost of taxi to tirrenia is quite steep €40 For a five minute journey so be prepared to drive :cycle or scoot or stay local. We come to this area every Year for a few nights as soon as we arrive in Pisa and I wouldn’t chose this hotel again. Another disappointment was that the beach wasn’t included in the room rate. This was first place we’ve stayed at (in 15 years) that has a hook up with a beach but doesn’t offer complimentary access

What a misrepresentation it is to give this hotel five stars. From the time we arrived at this hotel we were beyond disappointed. On arrival there was no one to help you with your luggage and only one person on reception. We were informed that to park our car would cost €18.00 per day, a sun bed on the beach was €25.00 per day and a towel, yes towel was €6.00 or a day. The room was very small stark and minimalistic, only one bedside table and two drawers in the wardrobe. The bathroom however was lovely and very well equipped. The pool area was pleasant but there was no bar or bar service. We went in to get our own drink (again only one member of staff) and was served it in a disposable plastic beaker. The same drink cups where still when we went for dinner two hours later! To walk to the beach you have to walk through a series of wooden sheds, the beach bar, to get to the beds. Again no drink service here either. Dinner was the final straw for us. Only a quarter of the tables were laid in a very minimal way. There were two members of staff working and when asked for a wine list we were told they didn’t have one, they had asked the office for a new one but it hadn’t arrived yet, so proceeded to tell us what was available. The icing on the cake was when I asked for some salt and pepper. I was shown a shelf and told I would find everything I could want was there. It consisted of sachets of salt, pepper, tomato sauce, mayonnaise etc. How this Hotel has been given five stars is beyond us. We left the hotel first thing the following morning having found another hotel ourselves.

The Toscana Charme Resort hotel advertise they are a five star hotel, which it certainly is not! I have been staying in over 300 hotels during my business and leisure life. I have never experienced such a big hotel scam ever in my life. This hotel is max a three star hotel. Arriving no one helped us with the baggage we had to load our baggage on to the trolley our selves and bring it down to the cellar for storage until our rooms were ready. Hotel is brand new and built in 2018. However the electronic door key did not work for 2 of our rooms (we booked 3 rooms) two of the rooms had to get additional traditional key to be able to lock the door to the room. We were equipped with very sharp edge plastic arm bracelet (like in hospitals) which we had to wear 24/7 Normally in a four and five star hotel you will get a bathrobe and slippers to use during your stay, none of this was offered. There was a electric kettle with different small bags of tea and coffee flavors which was nice but when you had finished one the hotel did not refill the next day so we asked why and if we wanted more we had to pay additionally. This is a normal refill in four and five star hotels. Arrogant staff. WiFi only working with the TV on! Meaning if you wanted to access Internet you had to make sure you had turned the TV on. Addressing this to the Front Desk they said that was not true and that WiFi was from access point outside the rooms. Even though Internet id said "Samsung TV series" and turning off the TV turned immediately off the Internet. Paper thin walls you could hear the neighbors snoring. extremely small rooms, no place for storing your baggage. Only one bed table even it was a double bed. We got one room with sea view just above the main pool but no balcony to enjoy the view so if you wanted to enjoy the view you had to open the curtains and look out through the windows but then everyone at the pool could see you so no privacy. Breakfast was ok but nothing compared to a five start hotel as the Toscana Charme Resort advertise they are. Location is good very close to the beach only within one minute walk. My wife said that the hair dryer was excellent. That is unfortunately all the pro's about this hotel.

Great location. Awesome private beach. Friendly staff! Excellent restaurant with amazing food. Place is very clean and close to local attractions. Many shops and restaurants are within walking distance. Room size is various, but even the smallest ones feel big due to great interior design and bright colors. TV has many international programs. Internet is very fast. Definitely a place to come back over and over again!
