Detailed Reviews
Hotel common areas very nice and breakfast is good with coffee / omelette etc to order as well as usual buffet
Pool area was good and no problem with beds
Staff seemed friendly enough but hotel was quite impersonal
Room was very minimal which was fine and seemed very clean. Limited storage. but our bathroom was horrible. Big damp patch on ceiling and shower area just a bit Yeuch.
We arrived late and only stayed for a couple of nights so didn’t bother raising this but on this basis the room
Wasn’t worth the money. Other thing to note that the hotel is quite isolated
And cost of taxi to tirrenia is quite steep €40
For a five minute journey so be prepared to drive :cycle or scoot or stay local.
We come to this area every
Year for a few nights as soon as we arrive in Pisa and I wouldn’t chose this hotel again.
Another disappointment was that the beach wasn’t included in the room rate. This was first place we’ve stayed at (in 15 years) that has a hook up with a beach but doesn’t offer complimentary access

Pros: An AC that kept the room cool at night, electric metal rolling shutters to help keep the room dark, room service each day, and a lovely buffet breakfast to start each day.
Cons: The building is older, and there are areas that lack attention to detail for cleaning. If you can, look past it. It really is a nice place. As you can see from other reviews, there are only three places to eat on the property, each in a separate location, and all require reservations. The staff misses out on that part—letting you know about reservations, the need to get your towels at the front desk before going to the pool or beach, and the fact that the AC will be inactive during the day unless you ask otherwise. Once you figure it out, it's not bad. Much of the information is verbalized, and I recommend having a written notice on arrival, along with recommendations for restaurants nearby. Nothing is offered, but all is shared if you
ask.
Pearls (the excellent stuff): the staff - especially Alice and the two gents working the breakfast buffet.
There are several restaurants within walking distance. The beach is a short walk but not an easy one for people with walking disabilities, and we recommend renting the gazebo. Just plan your visit ahead of time, and you will see that this is a good place to stay.

I can't understand the bad reviews at all. Luckily we booked this hotel.
The rooms were clean, large rain shower & TV by Italian standards. Very modern facility.
The pool was not heated, around 24°C
Breakfast was very varied, you have to wait a bit longer for the coffee ;)
Great beach location, sandy beach. Sunbeds cost from €25 depending on the row and season
Cocktails were delicious and a mojito costs €10
We had a room with a balcony.
Definitely go to the beach in the evening - the sunset is very beautiful

The Toscana Charme Resort hotel advertise they are a five star hotel, which it certainly is not!
I have been staying in over 300 hotels during my business and leisure life.
I have never experienced such a big hotel scam ever in my life. This hotel is max a three star hotel.
Arriving no one helped us with the baggage we had to load our baggage on to the trolley our selves and bring it down to the cellar for storage until our rooms were ready.
Hotel is brand new and built in 2018. However the electronic door key did not work for 2 of our rooms (we booked 3 rooms) two of the rooms had to get additional traditional key to be able to lock the door to the room.
We were equipped with very sharp edge plastic arm bracelet (like in hospitals) which we had to wear 24/7
Normally in a four and five star hotel you will get a bathrobe and slippers to use during your stay, none of this was offered.
There was a electric kettle with different small bags of tea and coffee flavors which was nice but when you had finished one the hotel did not refill the next day so we asked why and if we wanted more we had to pay additionally. This is a normal refill in four and five star hotels.
Arrogant staff. WiFi only working with the TV on! Meaning if you wanted to access Internet you had to make sure you had turned the TV on. Addressing this to the Front Desk they said that was not true and that WiFi was from access point outside the rooms. Even though Internet id said "Samsung TV series" and turning off the TV turned immediately off the Internet.
Paper thin walls you could hear the neighbors snoring. extremely small rooms, no place for storing your baggage. Only one bed table even it was a double bed.
We got one room with sea view just above the main pool but no balcony to enjoy the view so if you wanted to enjoy the view you had to open the curtains and look out through the windows but then everyone at the pool could see you so no privacy.
Breakfast was ok but nothing compared to a five start hotel as the Toscana Charme Resort advertise they are. Location is good very close to the beach only within one minute walk. My wife said that the hair dryer was excellent. That is unfortunately all the pro's about this hotel.

Location: close to beach and some nice beach restaurants.
Good bed, good roller shutters to keep the daylight out if you like.
-:
Rooms are very noisy; I woke up twice already because of a crying toddler in the room above me. You hear almost everything from the upper rooms: moving of furniture, footsteps and in the bathroom you can even hear people talking.
Light in the rooms is too bright, if you use the bathroom at night, it is as if you are in full spotlight.
Staff is not always friendly: at the restaurant (not breakfast) and bar you almost feel guilty for asking.
There is an extra charge (€25 per room per day) for using the private beach area. Also is there a charge for using beach towels an a deposit, the latter you can’t charge on the room and can’t pay by card (or at least they act as if that is a problem) must be in cash.
Staff (bar, restaurant) is not always (properly) wearing their protection masks. And hotel is very busy which is not very pleasant in these days.

We visited Toscana charme resort for 4 days and absolutely loved it. The staff were helpful and friendly, the pools were brilliant, especially the rooftop one, great views, lovely cocktails and fabulous music playlist, all made for a very chilled sunbathe!
We had requested a room with a balcony which we hadn’t had the option of on Expedia and the reception staff, Stefano, kindly accommodated this. It was a birthday treat so was much appreciated. The beach was quite busy but still quiet. Although you do pay extra for your beach pass this hotel is pretty reasonably priced compared to others in the area and is one of the most beautiful and clean.
Bars and restaurants were within walking distance though many were closed due to end of season.
We will definitely make an annual trip here.
Thank you! Just what we needed!

Positives: Rooms are clean and large, I was in a superior room. Apparently the base rooms are on the main road. So glad we went superior.
Negatives: In summary, the receptionist put it so eloquently when I complained that this hotel was more a very average three star, replying to my comment I am paying €140 per night for this . ‘You pay price for three star, what do you expect?’
Asked to speak to the Manager, just like other complaints below the receptionist simply says he is not available. In fairness better than when I complained the day before when the other receptionist simply shrugged her shoulders.
Issues:
Breakfast I counted 140 covers and 4 staff, you have nothing but cold food. Eggs, sausages, bacon all stone cold. You want warm €5 euro. Most mornings we would ask on average 3 times for a cup of tea, final day won the customer service award with the waitress simply replying ‘you ask someone else’
Gym. Let’s be honest here, three bikes and a resistance band bolted to a wall is not a gym.
Extras, everything costs extra, towels €6, €25 beach (which you are so crammed in you cannot actually move your sun beds without infringing on someone else (just google map it)
In summary and in fairness to the hotel, book it with a view this is a three star with challenges because of COVID, then you will not be disappointed. Book because it is your Honeymoon and you want something special, you will be sorely disappointed. Simply customer service does not exist here.

What a misrepresentation it is to give this hotel five stars.
From the time we arrived at this hotel we were beyond disappointed. On arrival there was no one to help you with your luggage and only one person on reception. We were informed that to park our car would cost €18.00 per day, a sun bed on the beach was €25.00 per day and a towel, yes towel was €6.00 or a day.
The room was very small stark and minimalistic, only one bedside table and two drawers in the wardrobe. The bathroom however was lovely and very well equipped.
The pool area was pleasant but there was no bar or bar service. We went in to get our own drink (again only one member of staff) and was served it in a disposable plastic beaker. The same drink cups where still when we went for dinner two hours later!
To walk to the beach you have to walk through a series of wooden sheds, the beach bar, to get to the beds. Again no drink service here either.
Dinner was the final straw for us. Only a quarter of the tables were laid in a very minimal way. There were two members of staff working and when asked for a wine list we were told they didn’t have one, they had asked the office for a new one but it hadn’t arrived yet, so proceeded to tell us what was available. The icing on the cake was when I asked for some salt and pepper. I was shown a shelf and told I would find everything I could want was there. It consisted of sachets of salt, pepper, tomato sauce, mayonnaise etc.
How this Hotel has been given five stars is beyond us. We left the hotel first thing the following morning having found another hotel ourselves.

Quite possibly the worst hotel experience we've ever had! I could spend hours writing this review but instead please see below for highlights of our worst hotel stay yet!
Lobby lounge seating was filthy and looked like it had never been cleaned.
Mold in showers
One extremely flat pillow per person. We requested for extra pillows, these took two days to eventually arrive!
Sun loungers on their 'private beach', which they open to the public, have to be paid for 25 per day or 50 at the weekend!
Staff are unthinkably rude.
Room service doesn't exist.
Pool is lacking any type of atmosphere, if you want a drink its in a plastic cup and you have to order it in the very odd bar in the restaurant.
Breakfast is utterly poor. Sweaty cold cuts of meats and cheese. Juices that are mainly sugar syrup. Coffee is extremely bitter if there is any! Eggs are either neon yellow or green.
Did I mention the staff are rude?
They have a 'coeliac corner' during breakfast, which you would assume would be gluten free products. It is not! Massive allergen issue.
If you have a problem there is no 'sorry about this madam/sir', the first response is 'do you want to speak to a manager?'. Which when you say yes, they tell you there isn't one to talk to right now.
Sorry just to point out again, the staff, rude.
Tea and coffee in the room, but no kettle or mugs, just plastic cups?
Room door let in all the sound from the lobby every morning. Could hear every door slam at night and so barely slept all week.
Lack of toilet roll. No joke, toilet roll doesn't seem to get replaced in the room. We resorted to taking from the multiple baskets in the other toilets as there was plenty there!
The only positives are the electric bikes that you can rent locally, not through the hotel. The lovely gentleman at the beach bar. And that's about it!
Please avoid! The money they're charging and the experience you are getting is unfair and quite sad. This was my fiances first time in Italy, after listening to me hype of about how beautiful place it was for years. He was devastated and not wanting to return. Give your money to anywhere else!

It was a really bad experience! The structure is very nice and modern but is scruffy, dirty and badly cared for.
The cleanliness of the rooms is to be improved (and I was good), and the breakfast buffet is not 5 stars because of the poor quality products.
The 2 restaurants in the structure (1 on the roof top and one on the beach) are almost always full and the menus offer almost all frozen dishes. In addition, there are only 3 proposals for first courses, 3 for appetizers and 3 for main courses without any possibility to choose vegetarian or vegan products, and they are not even fresh dishes!
The service we don't talk about: almost the entire hotel seems to be run by kids who (rightly) have little experience, and this does not guarantee adequate treatment to guests staying in a 5-star hotel (especially because you do not pay little). The area in which it is located, moreover, does not offer many possibilities to move as all parking lots are paid and there are only 3 or 4 restaurants / pizzerias nearby (thank goodness there are ).
The times are absurd!!! If you are hungry before 12.45 you can not eat anything because the only restaurant you can access (the beach one) does not open before that time and the hotel does not offer any kind of bar service to eat, so we have always had to make do accordingly.
Last but not least, zero sustainability! It's 2024 and in a 5 star hotel I expected some improvements from this point of view instead the rooms are full of body shampoo tubes / disposable plastic hair (instead of dispensers) and there is no possibility to do separate collection in the rooms and not even on the beach since they only have black bags (by the way I thought they were banned everywhere by now).
The few positive notes are not enough to return to this place! Absolutely failed.
