With a family of 4 we stayed in Cristallo for a week. The location is absolutely fabulous, best spot in city center of Sestriere. The room was a bit small for four, also considering the price for a week. You pay substantially, mainly for location in town, I guess. The beds for the adults were excellent, children's folding beds a bit outdated and hard. We had a room with absolutely no view. We could open a window, which would give us a view on a pile of snow. But we were not there much, so no problem really. The rooms are relatively quiet, unless there are people with barking dogs next to you. We prefer not to have dogs in a hotel anyways. We think it's not very clean, also since there are carpets in the room. The rooms are very very clean, by the way! Staff is very friendly and helpful. In the bar, the reception and restaurant, all very nice and friendly. Why not 5 stars? Well, the wellness is really below par. The sauna's are small and not very hot at all. The hot-tub was broken all week (we did get a reduction in price for that of appr. 30 euro). We had half board: breakfast is great. Lots of things to choose from. Fruit, cake, bread, everything is there. Dinner is an abundance of food. The buffet is great (starters and deserts), the pastas are excellent. The meat is sometimes good, sometimes not so. All in all: a very nice week in the snow, that was however quite costly (over 5000 euro in total for a family of 4).…
Stayed here for a couple of nights while doing the Tour Mont Blanc. It was a really nice stay....with good breakfast. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Even provided an excellent speedy laundry service which very welcome after 4 days hiking. Great location in the top of the town if Courmayeur. Would definitely stay here again.
Recommended. This is not a 5-star property, but I’m not sure I saw any of those while we spent our week in the Vialetta. We were a group of 21, middle age couples mostly. We joined a group that had been going to Italy every January for years. The staff here were all friendly and accommodating. Food was good and we always had a good choice. Breakfast is buffet. Dinner is buffet for starters and then you chose a prima (often pasta) and secondi courses (meat, fish, etc). Dessert is again on a buffet. Lots of wines to choose from at reasonable prices. The place is just opposite the ticket window, rentals, and lifts. Couldn’t be much easier. Our room was warm (other reviews mention this). All of our rooms were warm. We shut the heat in the room and opened the windows when we needed to. Otherwise, the room was big and the bed was comfortable. Small, European shower squeezed into the corner of the tub. Two complaints: the bathroom is too dark. Not enough light. And the chairs in the room were uncomfortable to sit and read, etc. Great value for money. Nice people. …
Just back from a week in sunny Sestriere Italy .We were a group of 21 ,everything was arranged by John @ Ski.com. The Cristallo is just steps from the lift ticket office , ski rental and slopes. Manuela runs a great hotel along with Olga at the front desk. A huge breakfast buffet will satisfy everyone. Pino runs the dining room with help from Pepe and Paolo . A huge antipasto and salad bar is a meal in itself. A large bar and lounge area that serves complimentary tea and pastries everyday. Giuseppe and Rosella do a nice job on the cocktails. The only complaints was the jacuzzi could be hotter and rooms facing the road are subject to noise around 7:30 am. I have done 26 years of ski trips to the alps and would recommended this hotel to anybody. Sestriere has an amazing amount of terrain linked with France. The town is not the prettiest and not much for non skiers. Torino is an hour away by train and makes an amazing day trip for a break from the slopes.…
rooms are a bit small and heating is crazy. Very difficult to regulate, except for opening the window which is a shame. not as noisy as others made out so didn't find being on the road a problem. Breakfast was wonderful. location is amazing.. just cross the road and you are on the slopes with discounts on ski hire, free storage and super friendly people.
