What can I say, this is truly a five star experience. The room is a great size, beautifully finished in the finest wood panelling throughout. We had a lovely view over the mountains.

Service, great! Attentive (not overly so, which I prefer) smiling, highly professional, and clearly VERY well trained.

The food, it’s like dining in a high class restaurant every night. We could live off the buffet alone…

The pool is great, with an inside / outside design and the E-bikes are practically new and ideal for exploring the area, what’s more they’re part of the package.

It helps that the hotel is in a beautiful valley of course!

Our family stayed at the recently refurbished Granbaita hotel in January 2020 for a weeks skiing in the lovely Dolomites. The hotel is situated in a fantastic position close to the nursery slope, which allows you to ski within 200m of the hotel. The hotel shuttle was an excellent addition in the morning taking skiers to the local lifts. The hotel has been beautifully refurbished with lovely modern details, whilst retaining some alpine charm. The stand out positives of the hotel are the fantastic spa facilities, modern comfortable rooms (superior rooms) and friendly courteous service. The food for me needs some improvement for a five star hotel. Whilst the a la carte menu was extensive, featuring many dishes to choose from, some of the dishes were a little underwhelming. I would prefer to see the menu smaller with more emphasis on regional dishes using local ingredients. However, the weekly buffet night was fantastic with the most notable dishes being the truffle pasta, sea salt baked whole fish and quality roasted meats. The wine list was extensive with some fantastic regional wines at reasonable prices from 28€ upwards. There is a gourmet restaurant at the Hotel which is open to the public (non-residents & hotel guests for a supplement) which was extremely popular. Maybe the kitchen is focusing a little too much attention on this restaurant. The breakfast in the hotel was extensive and good quality, with hot items that can be ordered from the menu. The juicer at breakfast was a lovely addition with many guests making fresh juices. My mum and I loved relaxing after dinner having a nightcap listening to the fantastic pianist who played at the hotel 6 times a week. Our waiter Marco was lovely and attentive and the barman Paolo & Gian Paolo were equally friendly and attentive. We had a fantastic week and would love to return in the future. Many thanks for a great week!

First of all, this is the best place I have ever skied and the best Ski hotel I have ever stayed at. The hotel is absolutely perfect and has a great location in the heart of Selva. The staff made us feel very welcome and made the experience very personal and relaxing. They could not have been more helpful. The breakfast and dinner experience in the restaurant is really special. In the morning, at breakfast they have a large buffet with everything you would need, and they offer fresh made egg-specialitie, wich by the way are my favourites. Also we enjoyed a lot the “ breakfast in bad” service, wich was perfect. At dinner the chef delighted us every night with a different creation, well measured portions, served by friendly, attentive staff, a great choice of modern dishes, drawing from the tradition of South Tyrollean and Italian cuisine. The wine list was extensive with some fantastic regional wines. There is a gourmet restaurant at the Hotel which is open to the public.
The bus to take us to and take us from the slope was always available even if the hotel is located so you can get on the ski back to the hotel. A great plus!

The whole spa and sauna area are superb. The outdoor pool is heated to a perfect temperature.

Marco, together with the whole family are constantly present making sure all goes well. A big thank you!

Everything is just perfect!

We fully recommend it!

We have just returned from a week's skiing in Selva where we stayed as a large group at the Granbaita. The hotel surpassed our expectations. Having been recently renovated, the hotel is beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean. The indoor/outdoor pool was a big hit with our children! The ski room is spacious and clean and the boot warmers were faultless. It is a very short walk up to the button lift for ski school drop off or, if feeling lazy, the shuttle service is prompt and they will drop you to wherever in town you wish to go! What stands out the most about this hotel though is the professionalism and warmth from the staff. We were made to feel truly at home, despite having a large group we were welcomed with open arms, given a special dining area and all of our wishes and demands were taken care of with ease. The owners were exceptionally welcoming and were always present, which no doubt ensures that this level of service is consistent throughout the hotel. A must do experience is the sunrise ski on Tuesday morning- what a fantastic memory! We can't wait to return!

We stayed in Granbaita for 2 nights on our Dolomites trip and enjoyed every moment of our stay!

The hotel staff are fantastic, helpful, resourceful and always eager to go the extra mile to help with anything. The room was extremely large and comfortable, with a fantastic terrace that offers unimaginable views.

The spa facilities were great, with a large selection of saunas, jacuzzis and pools. The spa is immaculately clean and offers a fantasy way to relax after a long day.

There are countless things to do in the vicinity of the hotel - from bike routes, hiking trails, and even some shopping in the near-by village center.

We highly recommend the hotel for anyone looking for a relaxing, high-end experience in a great location.

When your favourite hotel undergoes a root and branch regeneration and in the process adds a 5th star you approach the reception with some concern that the original charm may have been lost. True the old ski chalet style has morphed into a high class executive lounge but the leather clad reception desk and the warm smile behind it remain. You marvel at the sweeping panoramic window of the dining room each huge triple glazed pane must weigh several hundred kilos (I’m guessing). The room we had was so high tech it had low level lighting that came on to guide you to the toilet in the night. No more stubbed toes. I could have done with some instructions as I fumbled about looking for the switch to turn them off eventually giving up and laying down they went out! 4 USB ports, included nespresso coffee.
The warm greeting, the food, the family feel remain the same and when it snowed the live pine trees that delineate the internal border of the new gourmet restaurant were covered in snow that fell through the void in the roof that feeds them light and air. The effect was nothing short of magical.
New lifts, a new bigger ski room with new stairs to the front of the hotel where you catch the free courtesy bus to (and from) the lifts. Everywhere you look all you see is investment and risk. The timing of the pandemic could not have been worse for family Perathoner-Puntscher.
If Crystal have a better hotel than this in either their summer or winter brochure, I’d like to see it. The epitome and zenith of the Crystal finest range. My sincere wish is that this fine lady remains within the Crystal family.

Value for money is ok. Very close to the city but also close to a pavilion where evening music is played. Room are quite spacious and clean. Food and beverage is ok. I suggest if you stay in to select room in the back side so you avoid to hear music from pavilion or guest doing check out early in the morning. Good hotel overall

The hotel design and atmosphere are second to none, with great level of details both to the styling, the functional details and the overall atmosphere. The rooms are modern and yet warm, the spa facilities has a very wide range of saunas and treatments and the restaurant provides endless selection and impressive service.
On top of that, the hotel staff provides service including aspects that you couldn't even think of - taking the experience to the highest levels possible
We will definitely visit again!

We stayed for a week with 2 kids in this wonderful hotel. First I would like to mention good points about this property, because there are quite a few.
The hotel is newly renovated in an impressive way. The design, smart architectural solutions, the quality of the materials and the furniture in the main areas are of the very high standards.
The reception staff was very professional, helpful and friendly. We stayed in an old room (there are also new suites), but it was still well maintained, clean and spacious for our family. The beds are very good, the sleep quality is excellent. The only thing I missed was a proper, not broken make-up mirror and a good light in a bathroom. You can rent the skies and other equipment at the hotel and it went very smooth. The shuttle service is also very good. The bar and the lounge area are very inviting, the barmens were professional, friendly and the bar was well-stocked. Spa area (saunas) are very good, the quality of the massages was excellent, but I have a feeling they are understaffed (booking a day in advance was not possible). The pool area was OK, but it felt that its a bit outdated.

A few essential aspects though must be improved to match the ambition of one of the few 5 star hotels in the area.
The FOOD: the quality of the food during a dinner was not consistent. Some dishes were good, others were bland, sloppy. The buffet was diverse, but sometimes I had a feeling the dishes were prepared a day before. The breakfast was good.
We've also noticed that there is a lack of a senior staff in a dining area. Comparing to other hotels of this level, where the cooperation between the kitchen and the dining service staff is a well-oiled machine, here it is not the case. It takes some time to fix that.

We have just spent a wonderful week in this magnificent hotel! The staff, food, shuttle, rooms, bathrooms, spa, swimming pools, locker room, bar area, games room, entertainment.... were all absolutely fabulous. The attention to detail was perfect but most importantly the warm atmosphere created by everyone who worked there is second to none. Can’t recommend this hotel more highly. Thank you Gran Baita for fabulous memories.

Ps. Tip: VERY VERY short walk (even for little kiddies) to back of locker room from bottom of nursery slope!
