Enjoyed our stay but a few issues would like to give 3 1/2 if possible

Firstly to say we enjoyed our stay at Hotel Mignon and I would recommend as a good hotel. It does have a nice caring feel to it and the SPA is a highlight after a day's walking, clean, well equipped and relaxing. It is very well located for the various walks. However, without wanting to appear too negative, there were a few downsides. At the moment there is a lot of building work right outside the hotel. 3 cranes and a digger was not the view we'd hope for to interrupt the amazing Dolomites. The food and service in the evening wasn't the best - quite long waits for some of the early courses and very little fish on the menu (1 dish out of 8 non veg main options) which disappointed my wife although may be typical for the area. That said food is well presented and courses are sized so you can enjoy them all, choice at breakfast was good. The suite we booked was OK but surprised it didn't have some basics such as a small fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. The parking is difficult and not easy to get in/out if you find a space. That said this part of the Dolomites is a stunningly beautiful area and people are helpful and kind so we'd like to return, our memories are overwhelmingly positive!…

Dear guest Philm1, First of all we would like to thank you for visiting us and for having appreciated the services of our hotel. Since you have also listed some negative or improvable aspects, I try to respond to your comments: 1) I would like to emphasize that the building works are not our private hotel works but are from the public administration. Actually they should have already been completed for the last winter and therefore, we hoped they would finish before the summer season. Therefore we are obviously sorry for the inconvenience suffered by our guests, but in this case we could do very little. 2) We are very sorry about food criticism, but allow me to disagree: we continually receive a lot of praise for our cuisine, above all from our regular guests, so your note surprises me a bit. We regularly offer fish during the week and in our menu options and as our hotel is located in the mountains, it seems to us a more than appropriate offer. 3) Given the fact that this year, due to the well-known events regarding Covid, all the bookings of the travel agencies (primarily English) were cancelled, all guests arrived with their own cars and not with transfers as in previous years. At certain times we had therefore less space, but I want to emphasize that all guests still find space in our outdoor parking (for free). We also offer covered parking spaces in the garage, but in summer they are rarely used. From next winter, however, it will be a "problem" less, because we will have additional parking spaces in our garage. Having said that, we thank you for your stay at our Hotel Mignon and we hope to be able to host you again in the future, when the public area is finally completed and made pedestrian for guests staying in Selva. Wonderful ski hotel in Selva

Loved everything about this hotel. Accommodation (comfort room) was large and very comfortable, the decor of the hotel was high quality, the food was excellent (and plentiful), the staff were all very friendly and the free Spa was exceptionally good and a superb area to relax in at the end of a busy ski day. Frequent shuttle service provided access to lifts on both sides of the valley in a few minutes each morning. Ski return to hotel is about 5 minutes walk from one side of the valley and about 10 from the other side. Hotel is well positioned for this very scenic ski area, being right on the Sella Ronda (did it clockwise and anticlockwise during the week). Would love to return on a future ski holiday would definitely look at staying in Hotel Mignon again.

Nice Hotel, Friendly Service, Excellent Food

The hotel is great - good quiet location, nice warm and spacious rooms, comfortable beds, excellent boot-room and a wonderful spa area to relax in at the end of a hard days skiing. The owners/staff are amazing - Giorgio, Stefanie and Alexandra in particular were tremendous. The food and Italian wine selection are excellent. I missed a 'proper' hot tub with hot water - the spa has a larger pool area with jets, but the water is tepid. Would love them to offer a pick-up service in their minibus at the end of the day. And personally, the bar area, reception room and restaurant are a bit soul-less and would benefit from an upgrade to the lighting/decor to enhance the mood (some bedrooms are benefiting from this approach or see the Grand Baita hotel nearby for the impact of this). Having said all that, its a tremendous play to stay in Selva and I hope to return again!…

We are pleased to read that you have had a good stay at our Mignon hotel and that you have enjoyed our Spa, our rooms and the praise for our cuisine. I would like to respond to some suggestions / notes you made: 1) we believe we are close enough to the last ski lift (Nives ski lift - 350 m) that we do not have to propose the return shuttle, which is also very difficult to coordinate (I should have a driver on purpose for the afternoon only). 2) The pool water has 30 degrees - the feeling that the water is only tiepid is due to the fact that the outside air is heated to 32 degrees and makes the water feel cooler. 3) the whole lounge and reception area, bar was renovated in 2010; next spring our next renovations begin, which will cover 10 rooms. The dining room will be the next job, but it will certainly take a few years :-) We hope in any case to have you again our welcome guest at the next opportunity. Very comfortable family run hotel with very helpful staff

Really bowled over by the help Giorgio and his family were able to give us to arrange all sorts of small things, restaurants, taxis, getting Euros to the other end of the valley when we didn't have any etc. The hotel was opened by his grandfather and there is clearly a lot of pride in it. Also, good food and very comfortable rooms.

50th birthday Ski trip

Probably one of the best hotels I've stayed in. Attention to detail, incredible staff, food outstanding and plentiful, the list would go on. The location first of all is great its in the middle of the village and is very easy for all local amenities, the minibus only takes a few minutes to take you to the piste its so easy and effective, returning is almost ski to door when you've crossed a few minor roads. Our room was very cosy, great views and also nice and quiet. The breakfast and dinners were outstanding, we looked forward to eating them and deciding what to eat and drink from the daily menus. The surprise was my birthday champagne which I didn't expect!!! The detail here is really outstanding. The NewYear gala dinner was a feast never to forget!! they also provided us with a packed breakfast on our last day due to our early morning departure. I would love to return once I've burnt off the extra calories!! thank you to all the staff here for a memorable 50th Birthday that I will never forget…
