The hotel and facilities were excellent, but the outstanding feature was the friendliness of all the staff from top to bottom. I was unlucky enough to have a bad fall on the ski slopes and the manager himself took the time to drive me to the medical centre in the neighbouring village. This was typical of the excellent service to be found throughout the hotel.

We stayed for 5 days in June. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable with an excellent bathroom and with a big balcony with beautiful views, ideal for relaxing and chilling out.
Every day we were welcomed into the restaurant by the friendly staff. The breakfast buffet was extensive and enabled good start for a day in the mountains. The food in the evening was outstanding, with a great choice of dishes including local specialities.
We went hiking in the mountains and there are lots of trails that can be accessed directly from the hotel, which was perfect.

The staff are the nicest people, always willing to help and make sure your stay is excellent. The food was delicious. The location was ideal - 10 min walk to Piz Sorega gondola for amazing walks/hikes. This was a 10/10 visit and I can't wait to go back!

We stayed here for 6 nights in the Diamant Suite. The room was very spacious but also very cosy. It was perfectly clean and had a nice balcony! Bathroom was also huge! The location is very nice in a lovely small town , away from the main road. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. We also had dinner each evening, which was certainly OK, it became better each evening! Our only advice to the hotel would be to offer free water in the room (at least upon arrival).

We stayed at this lovely, recently refurbished hotel few weeks ago. Our room was clean, specious, comfortably designed and had a beautiful view over the town and mountains. The restaurant serves delicious gourmet dinners. The staff is most welcoming. The combination of numerous gorgeous hiking trails in the Dolomites around and staying at this hotel was just a perfect vacation.

The best hotel I’ve stayed in. We had a “clean air” room, which was spacious and comfortable, with a view of the mountains. All of the staff were so welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent too. The hotel is in a great location in San Cassiano, which is a charming village. Easy transport by bus, on foot or by the nearby gondola to go exploring. We were sorry to leave at the end of our stay and would definitely return.

All the staff were excellent, food was very very good, rooms were a good size and very clean. Modern bathrooms with plenty of space. San Cassiano is a lovely village and a great link into the Sella Ronda.
An amazing hotel whether for skiing or summer holidays

Thank you to all the lovely and helpful staff at this wonderful hotel. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The food was plentiful with a varied choice, oh and delicious. The spa was excellent after a hard day on the slopes. The shuttle bus worked perfectly, up the steps from the boot room, into the bus and out at the gondola, easy! The area of Alta Badia is varied and you’re not far from the Hidden Valley and Cortina. Would we recommend this hotel? most definitely. So much so we’ve booked for next year. Looking forward already to our return. Grazie!

Best hotel in the world. This hotel has to be the cleanest most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It is family run and all of the staff are first class. The food is unbelievable. Rooms are huge and have beautiful views. I couldn’t fault this hotel. The bar is run by Matteo who is amazing and knows how to make a cocktail. It’s the best place and my family and I loved every minute

I generally hate writing reviews, but this time I feel that I must write some words of appreciations. My family spent one week at the Hotel Diamant of San Cassiano. This was my second time. The first time was some years ago when I stayed only a couple of days. I was on my own and it was more a work-trip. I decided to come back with my extended family (8 people). We simply loved this place. The Hotel Diamant is a family small size business with the same philosophy we apply to our profession. You can see pride in each small detail. From the quality of the finishing, the artistic lights in the dining room, the amazing food. The location is excellent. The Hotel Diamant is right in the middle of San Cassiano, by far one of my favourites villages in the Dolomites. A Van is available to take skiers back and forth to the cable car (it takes 3 minutes). The village is small, with some nice shops and beautiful architecture. The rooms are spotless and sufficiently spacious. There is a SPA area with any type of service (sauna, steam, swimming pool, massage etc.). My kids loved the swimming pool. The adults loved the amazing breakfast and dinners. During my first trip, some years ago, food and dinners in particular impressed me; but this time the food was simply amazing. It is pretty common with my profession that we have frequent opportunities to dine in top quality restaurants. As a result, It is difficult to impress us. At the end of the holiday I asked my wife if she could remember a dish she did not like or was perhaps poorly prepared. We agreed that each single dish was cooked to perfection with certainly quality ingredients. There was always sufficient variety to avoid what one may not like in general (for example, I do not fancy seafood that much) and some dishes were certainly better of what I tried in some 3-Hat Michelin restaurants.
But what we most loved was the homey feeling, the professionalism and courteousness of everybody. I have to say that this relatively common in South Tyrol. I now leave in Australia, but I was born in Italy and I spent part of my childhood in the Dolomites. I have always admired the professionalism and pride of the locals.
If you are travelling with young kids and you rely in local services to gain some free time then you may be disappointed. Last year we were in Val Gardena in a Family top quality Hotel. They provide babysitters, playgrounds and everything for your kids. There is nothing like that at the Diamant and please, if you are reading my comments, do not make any effort to provide this type of service. In a Family type of Hotel with easily one hundred kids, if one kid gets sick, most of the other kids will also get sick ... this is the end of your holiday. Plus holiday for us is the time when we can finally spend quality time with our kids. If you have young kids and you want some time off, ask reception they will organise a babysitter through the local tourist office.
The bell of the church in the village (which is just in front of the Hotel Diamant) will remind you that it is time to wake up. It will do that at 7 am by hitting your timpani 60 times; 20 in a row repeated 3 times after a short pause between each series of attacks. I wake up before 7.00 am and I love bells, but this may be annoying for someone; if you are planning to sleep in. Also remember tower bells are also singing early in the morning in Italy, it is easy to have this problem if the accommodation is in the middle of the village. Our room was almost facing the church, ask for a room on the other side of the Hotel if you feel that this may be a problem.
The Hotel Diamant is not cheap, but I would not say that it is expensive. It is certainly good value. I was happy with what I paid for the service we received .. actually I am planning to do it again next year.
