We stayed here at the end of February, with it being our first time in Sauze D'olux, the hotel is a short distance to walk from the main square and a little further up hill to the nearest lift (we chose to get the ski bus most days to avoid the crowds at the closest lift). When we arrived we were given the keys straight away and able to go to the room, even though it was before checking in time, this was a great bonus as meant we could get straight into our ski gear and have a cheeky 1/2 day on the slopes. The room was spotlessly clean, and a very good size, with a lovely little balcony that looked up the mountains, great to have a quick check of the weather in the mornings upon getting up. The breakfast in the morning was a great variety with it having a little something different most days, incase you get bored, but we never got bored, the cobs in the morning were lovely and fresh and if you got down bang on the breakfast opening were even still warm showing how fresh they were. The evening meal was also lovely having a choice of 3, starters, mains and deserts each night you would be hard pushed to find something you did not like. As an added bonus there was also a buffet salad selection before your starter, this was great always changed, and was always yummy, was hard to control yourself to make sure you had room for the other courses, most days we did not make desert. The lounge/bar area is lovely an cosy, with a great relaxing atmosphere after you have come off the slopes, we loved having a few drinks in here before going into dinner. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel to people, the staff go above and beyond to ensure your are comfortable and are always there to help.…
Just got home from my 3rd visit to this hotel - only after 1 day skiing due to the C 19 virus !! Always meant to write a review before but never got round to it. We booked with Crystal who handled the whole situation brilliantly. We were half board and on the last day had to leave in the afternoon. Paulo - the owner served up a delicious 4 course lunch - above and beyond what was expected - as the whole resourt was about to close -before Italy closed everything! A small family run hotel tucked away in the village. Warm, impeccably clean, friendly, always full of ‘repeat’ visitors..says it all really! Yes - there is a 10 minute walk up hill to the lift - but this helps you ‘warm up’ and cool down at the end of the day !
Difficult to add to all the positive reviews already here. We chose this hotel because of them and we were not disappointed. The amazing farewell “lunch”, actually the same as evening meal, salad buffet plus three courses of their usual high standard, produced at short notice to send us home as the resort closed, was a great effort from all concerned and summed up the great service from all the staff. Add to this the lovely wine, and cosy lounge with open fireplace, etc etc, we will be certainly be coming back to this hotel again in the coming ski seasons.
We chose this holiday for our 2020 ski holiday. The environment is very relaxed and comfortable. The staff were excellent and the owners couldn't so enough. When we had to have the week cut short (day 2) they worried more for us than the undoubted impact on them as the resort was closing for the season. So much so that they gave us lunch rather on the day we left to ensure that we would travel better. Access to a square, with shops, bars and ski hire, is a 2/3 minute stroll. Ski bus runs from this square up to the Clotes and Sportinia lifts. The one day we did manage to ski the conditions and runs were fantastic and there evidence of theprevious week's big snowfall was evident with all the tracks under lifts and other off-piste areas. Would certainly book there again.
What a great place to stay. Very freindly warm and accomadating. Felt as though we left as friends. Epic food, great breakfasts. Very clean and tidy and nice comfrortable bed. 2 mins walk from the piste. Loved my stay. Thankyou. Adam
