Super hotel, fantastic location 10 minutes to the picturesque resort of Ortisei, easily accessible by bus - the stop is next to the hotel and you can get a weekly free travel pass at the reception. Great view from the windows of the rooms on Ortisei, Seceda and Sella. Very good breakfasts - good coffee and the possibility of ordering fried eggs to the table at no extra charge. Delicious dinners - a very generous buffet of salads, cold and hot dishes, additionally a starter, soup and hot a la carte dish. Plus fantastic desserts, some of the best we've ever had. Nice wellness area: large indoor + heated outdoor pool, outdoor "cottage" sauna overlooking the Dolomites, and an outdoor jacuzzi, but the water in it was a bit too cold. Very friendly staff. Comfortable and large room, very quiet. It was a really great holiday and we will be happy to come back in the summer.

Beautiful Hotel in Val Gardena on the road to Castelrotto. We have stayed here several times already and always with maximum satisfaction. The location is spectacular with views of Ortisei and much of the Valley. The view from our room ranged from Seceda to Sella and the Stevia group in the distance. The rooms are all spacious and furnished in alpine style with carpet or parquet depending on the styles, all equipped with large bathrooms with all facilities and very clean. All the staff are very kind and helpful. The swimming pool, with panoramic mountain views, is one of the highlights of the hotel. It is large and divided into indoor and outdoor connected through a sliding door. Great availability of sun loungers all distributed on a vast manicured lawn There are 2 large dining rooms with well-spaced tables and a kind of living room with fireplace where you can sit in case of bad weather, while outside, very well maintained, a large panoramic terrace with tables, sofas and some games can entertain guests in the after dinner using the excellent bar service. At dinner, good quality, double choice on both first and second courses and vast buffet available. Great buffet for breakfast with a great choice between sweet and savory. I was verbose, but I assure you that the quality of the stay is great.
Also excellent value for money, A greeting to Mrs. Tiziana. I'll see you again.

I was on holiday in this hotel with my partner and my 1 and a half year old daughter during the summer holidays. The place is lovely, located halfway between Ortisei and Castelrotto (easily accessible by bus with free ticket). We ate divinely, the staff is attentive and prepared and the rooms are spotless. I honestly think this hotel deserves more than 3 stars! I can not wait to return!!

Well, what can I say?? From the moment we met the owner on reception on our first day until we left, I have nothing but praise for this excellent family run hotel. The lady on reception with her husband, the main chef, their daughter and son, plus another two waiters and a chef were the staff we saw. They are a superb team working like a well oiled machine together in their manning of the man,; the sharing of who covers what part of the restaurant etc. There are clearly other people involved such as cleaners - our room was spotless every day- and kitchen staff. We really enjoyed our eight day stay. They were all very kind in letting me try out my Italian that I have been learning even though they all speak very good English. That kind touch was much appreciated by me.
We are not normally to be found staying for that length of time in one hotel: we tend to move after one or two nights but walking in the VAl de Gardena didn't lend itself to that sort of holiday. We were told about some of the best walks to do but the best advice was to use the local, and very regular and punctual bus, for free for guests in hotels in the area. We used our hire car once in the eight days!! We even went to Bolzano by bus on a rainy day.
We had booked in on a bed and breakfast basis but for the first night, for ease, we thought we'd try the hotel's restaurant menu at 25euros a head. I have to say the antipasti buffet was delicious, immense, and thoroughly enjoyed as was the rest of that day's menu. So much so that there were only two nights when we didn't eat in the hotel. It is a very popular thing to do by most of its guests. The food is fresh and of excellent quality.
The breakfast buffet is also very good too.
We only used the pool once on a wet Sunday afternoon but that, like everything about this hotel, has been built to a very high standard.
Of an evening we enjoyed a drink looking at the fab view before dinner.
Thank you for a wonderful stay.
P.S. We were in room 210 which was a great size with a large balcony, sofa and very comfy bed and a great view. We did ask for a top sheet as the duvet was too warm for the weather and this we were given without a problem.

We had a wonderful 5 day stay at this beautiful hotel. The location has easy access to all kinds of hikes, restaurants, and beautiful little Dolomite cities. We opted to have dinner and breakfast there, and both were plentiful and excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful, in particular Tiziana and Patrick. Only negative is that the furniture in our room was a little tired

Liked everything. We had a huge room with a large balcony (though shared by 3 rooms, but that didn’t bother us) and a stunning view of Ortisei and the Alps (room 105). We even managed to see twice how the mountains change their color at sunset and become pink-gold before our eyes (enrosadir effect). The room had everything you needed and even more, including a very comfortable bed, sofa, coffee table, armchairs, etc. The SPA is wonderful. How great it is, after long hikes in the mountains, to plunge into a warm pool (it was +8 degrees outside) overlooking the same wonderful mountains, or relax in a jacuzzi or in an alpine sauna. Wonderful breakfasts with a rich buffet and a choice of egg dishes. You can write a separate story about the dinners, but I’ll just say: everything was not just delicious, but very tasty and varied, for which many thanks to the chef and all the service staff. And lastly, during the 5 days we spent there, we never used the car once, since the hotel provides a free bus pass that stops right at the hotel door. I don't understand why this hotel only has 3 stars, it deserves much more. I can only say one thing - I highly recommend this hotel to those who are traveling to the Ortisei area.

Impossible to give less than 5 stars. If you want to enjoy delicious food, feel pampered, relax with a dream view a stone's throw from Ortisei, Hotel Scherlin is the right choice for you. My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Scherlin during the New Year's week, I had high expectations and they were fully satisfied.

Our room (Superior) was really large and very quiet, even though our floor was full, we never heard our neighbors. A dream bathroom, despite the cold outside the room was always warm. The common areas are always super clean, well heated and tidy, never anything out of place.

The indoor pool is connected to the outdoor one via a sliding door and is a real gem, it's truly magical to swim in the pool with water at an ideal temperature while it's snowing outside. In the wellness area you will always find clean towels at your disposal, but let's move on to the catering.

Breakfast is a buffet and you will find absolutely everything, from classic croissants to homemade cakes, I would like to point out the lemon one which is spectacular, we also find really delicious homemade jams, but there is also a vast choice of savory options.
At breakfast we choose the dishes that we will then eat for dinner, we have 2 choices of first courses and 2 choices of second courses available, desserts included, drinks are separate, we have always taken the house wine, we tried the Lagrein and the Gewurztraminer , really excellent, even at dinner we find a vast choice of hot and cold appetizers buffet style. The cuisine is truly excellent, there wasn't a single course that didn't satisfy us.

In front of the hotel there is a bus stop. At the reception we will be given weekly bus tickets, getting around will be very simple thanks to the hotel app which will show us the bus timetables, in 10 minutes you are in the center of Ortisei.

In short, it was a 5-star holiday also thanks to the courtesy, care and availability of all the staff, we had such a good time that we will return in the summer too and I also convinced my sister and brother-in-law to book in this hotel. We can't wait to return.

Really nice hotel in a prime location and perfect in all respects! The rooms are spotless and spacious, furnished with gusto.Piscina indoor and outdoor infinity pool overlooking the entire Val Gardena, the Seceda and Sella group! The restaurant offers always varied dinners with well-balanced flavors and often typical dishes. Fabulous and varied buffet with dozens of quality dishes. Outdoor sauna in a wooden cabin and whirlpool in a well-kept park with a truly incomparable view. The structure is officially a 3 star but can easily be compared to a 4-star even superior. The family of owners knows how to welcome wisely and making us feel not a guest but one of the family and it is for all these reasons that after staying once at Scherlin will hardly stay the only time.

Rooms were spacious and balconies with valley view were wonderful. Had the traditional “half-board” (breakfast & dinner) which was excellent (variety of choices), bar & variety of wines you can add ($) as well. This place has been upgraded by the current family generation and they plan to continue investing. Visitors were mostly Italian (in summer) and German (in fall) according to owner, but most staff spoke English well enough to make up for our sad lack in these languages. Nice pool, sauna and rooftop patio. Only thing we wished was that hot tub would remain on/open in the evenings (when we wanted relief after a day of hiking/biking).
I would guess the drive here in winter, or when temps drop & ice could form, would be a bit dicey (was predicted to snow day we left, so we left early to have good roads … you are elevated, so temps cooler here) so factor that in if you are a nervous driver.
Activities we did were out of Ortisei so we did have to drive into town and park there.

I have been to many different hotels in Val Gardena and Val Badia and hotel Scherlin is one of the best I have seen so far. Beautiful views, amazing food, and an outdoor and indoor swimming pool + jacuzzi make this place perfect for non-skiers and skiers alike. Its distance from Ortisei (only 10 min by car and bus) is not a downside: it makes the place super quiet and perfect for relax. The bus stops right in front of the hotel and it is very convenient for skiers.
