We been treated like royals since we walk in,the restaurant manager Salvatori and his female assistant "sorry dont remember the name " the were great funny and efficent specially Salvatori.who made us feel very confortable and well treated.. Thanks see you soon
Beautiful building and setting lacking in love! Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice sadly the rest of the food wasn’t our evening meal was dreadful to the point we didn’t really eat much of it. By the pool we had a club sandwich which also wasn’t great and it came in the middle of the plate with no garnish or side for £22 each! The most expensive sandwich we have ever eaten! Would not recommend this hotel.
The first room offered us was dark, with low celings and small, fixed windows; the second was somewhat better, but underfurnished. We chose this hotel for our two last nights in the Veneto before flying home. This was a mistake. The room safe was broken and not repaired while we were there. The sauna listed in the hotel ads was available only in 1-hour time slots by appointment at an extra fee. With the exception of breakfasts with good but understaffed service, the food was simply awful. No questions were asked when uneaten servings were returned: management evidently knew they had a problem. On checking out, we had a conversation with the desk staff, who admitted that the hotel was undermaintained. Their excuse: who knows what the future will bring? After revising our travel plans to extend our stay, we booked a different hotel before the flight out (Marco Polo Park Hotel). Very pleasant, and a much better value.…
We enjoyed an 8-night stay at this lovely property, and the small, dedicated staff made sure our experience was flawless from start to finish. The rooms are elegant yet comfortable and beautifully maintained. Sleep quality was superb. We enjoyed a few afternoons lounging by the beautiful pool, and had excellent food and beverage experiences throughout. The included breakfast is ample and delicious, and don't miss the creativity of their chef in Ristorante Malipiero. Daily shuttle service to Piazalle Roma makes going into Venice very easy, and there is also a local bus stop just a short walk up the road that can take you to Mestre or other locations. In the local town you will also find very good casual dining or cocktails. My wife's service dog was treated like a member of the family, and enjoyed keeping an eye on her poolside. The accommodation made for him with exemplary, and in line with their overall standard of excellence. We look forward to visiting again soon, and thank Signore Vivarelli for making our stay so memorable.…
We had a lovely stay and the GM made it even more memorable. You felt like a special guest in his home. We chose this as our last night before flying out to be close to the airport where we could have a nice farewell dinner. It hit the mark! The rooms are large with wonderful showers. Pool on property and a garden. Our dinner outside that evening was attentive and delicious as was our breakfast the next day. There is nothing very close and you feel as if you are in the country so easy to rest by the pool and read. They have a shuttle to the airport and Venice as well. It was perfect match for our needs. Such a delightful find for a final stop close to the airport.
We stay in Villa Barbarich for a week end and it's was amazing, really fantastic and romantico building where se found also a perfect Restaurant. Services and staff top quality, we suggest this hotel to everyone.
Amazing welcome, superb food and service, spotless rooms. As the menu was restricted due to Covid 19 chef went off piste on our last night and made us a fantastic fish soup. It was amazing. I was here on business, however this would be an ideal venue to be in a country house hotel only 15 to 20 minutes from Venice.
A very beautiful hotel. With classic furniture and decor, which is more similar to a palace rather than a hotel. The staff is kind and helpful. I definitely recommend this place to everyone. Having said so I will try to describe also a few smal things that could be improved. The rooms are small but really cosy and clean with comfortable bed and a fridge full of beverages (not free of course) . Each room has ita small balcony and that’s so nice. We found 2 small insects in the room (but i think it was because the door of the balcony was open). In the room we didn’t find tooth brush and tooth paste, and only after we asked the receiption brought us one. (However I think usually the tooth brush and tooth paste must be already in the room not only by request) the restaurant was really beautiful and amazing and we really enjoyed our dinner there. And the prices were reasonable (One Pizza + one beer+ one water 30 euros) The spa, was not good. Infact it was just 2 sauna, and shower. And only 2-4 people can be inside at the same time. I wish they had also a small jacuzzi or pool inside the hotel , since in the autumn and winter you cannot use the outside pool. Overall the hotel was super, and if I ever go bavk to Venice or Mestre I will definitely stay here againz …
I truly love this hotel! They are so helpful and kind, the rooms are spacious and beautiful and the restaurant is truly special. Breakfast food is good; dinner is better but quite formal (no pizza at the bar option here) and the hotel is set in lovely grounds. It is an hour by very inexpensive public transport into the centre of Venice which is worth it in my opinion as a trade-off between luxury, cost and location. If you are happy walking a bit to get places then this is an amazing find! Rooms a third of the price of central Venice and twice the size.
My in-laws, my husband and I were staying at the Villa Barbarich for one night as we all had to be at Venice airport quite early the next morning. The villa is magnificent and the rooms are comfortable and well equipped. Reception staff were lovely and friendly. I had emailed previously to try and arrange a massage but since it was Sunday evening, no masseuse was available. However, the staff did their best to make alternative arrangements for us at a sister hotel (which we didn’t require in the event) – still, the trouble they went to was very much appreciated. Apart from the very soft beds, the only problem we encountered was the room temperature. It was the third week of October and the hotel had turned off their air-conditioning. Fortunately/Unfortunately it had been a warm sunny day so both our rooms were quite warm and stuffy (I think the wooden beams coming down from the vaulted ceiling retained the heat a bit longer as well). While my husband and I were content with simply opening windows and allowing cooler evening air in to cool down the room, my in-laws, who are American and used to sleeping in 18 C or less, were really struggling with the room temperature. The villa is very quirky, mixing its beautiful Renaissance interior with modern art-work depicting Italian artists and famous fictional characters. The restaurant’s dining room (separate review) is simply jaw-dropping if slightly impersonal. I did love the small spa (lovely steam-room, sauna and Kneipp-type water parcours which is great for the blood circulation in your legs) which is free to use. All this plus the fantastic convenience of the location would make me want to stay here again without hesitation.…
