This is a smallish hotel and a little old-fashioned. My room was modern and small but had everything I needed including fridge, TV, kettle and a comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. The balcony was narrow, just big enough for two small chairs. My room overlooked the sea, across a busy and noisy main road. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. There is a good pool and garden area. However, there was very much an end-of-season vibe about the place. I was there for a week as part of a tour group and most of the other guests were also part of tour groups that came and went during the week. This is officially a four star hotel, however I have only given two stars in my review because of major problem concerning the food and dining arrangements, First, the rather meagre breakfast. The only warm breakfast available was scrambled egg which did not look appealing. There were small bowls for cereal, tinned fruit rather than sliced fresh fruit, cold meats and cheese, and breads and pastries, some of which were unappetising. The warm croissants were very nice, though. Dinner in the hotel was included in our package. I do not know if the hotel always operates like this, but as a tour group we were first of all told that we MUST eat dinner at 7.30 p.m. When you have returned from a hard day of touring this does not give much time for a shower and a relaxing drink before dinner - in fact there was very little bar culture here - the indoor bar was closed and the outdoor bar was often occupied by tour groups being given advice during the early evenings. The hotel could have made more money from us by being more flexible in dining time so that we could go to the bar. Dinner consisted of an antipasti buffet, which was very nice - however, all the guests were queuing for it simultaneously due to the 7.30 p.m. timing, which was not very sensible. Then your first and second courses were whatever you had chosen from a short menu printed the day before - the first course usually included pasta or soup, the second course a choice of three meat or fish dishes. Some of the pastas were vegetarian but there was no vegetarian main course listed - vegetarian food had to be specially requested and was occasionally fine, but on two occasions we were served dry patties made of beans or lentils with potato or a little veg (however the aubergine stuffed with vegetables and cheese was lovely). I could have happily eaten my main from the antipasti instead, but that was all cleared away by the time the main course came. The diners at my table who ate the meat or fish often found it unpalatable and left most of it. And talking of other diners, we were told we had to sit on the same table and with the same people for all meals so there was no option of sitting with different people on different days. I felt the whole approach to dinner was about saving money on food and staff wages by ensuring the staff did not have to work too late. A fixed dining time and having to choose food the night before is perhaps an Italian tradition but is it really what you want for a relaxing break in the 21st century? I am sure that they could have organised a simple buffet of modern Italian food for dinner - perhaps the pre-ordering indicated that they were concerned about food wastage but there was quite a lot of that anyway with inedible food being left on plates. If you want proximity to a beach where you have to rent sunbeds and are not concerned about food then this hotel is for you, otherwise I cannot recommend it,

Great staff, good size rooms. That a visit to the beach/a place to sit at the beach wasn’t included for the price we payed (3000 euro for less than 10 days) is absurd. The hotel is promoted as a beach hotel, but to visit the beach you have to pay 25-40 euros per day (the higher price is for if you want to be able to lock in your valuables). It’s payed outside the hotel. First time we ever encountered that and would add another 250-400 euros to the stay. Absurd. In the area there is one (1) supermarket, and it’s a bit away. There is no concurrence which is shows through the prices. It was cheaper buying a soda outside the Dome Palace in Venice than buying it in Lido de Camaiore. About the area; There is -nothing- to do apart from walking on the beach or swimming in the pool. Bring a car, you’ll need it.

Very nice to be in a hotel where you are treated so well Staff could not have been nicer, when the French cleared the buffet breakfast that ensured that we would have something to eat .Our room had a balcony overlooking the sea and was serviced to a very high standard and what we Brits like a kettle in the room to make tea

Firstly the room smelled of mold (though clean) bed covers an old blanket like in a 2 star hotel and the bed, furniture and design is something between cheap 2 star and grand ma's house. When hotel manager requested passport upon late night check-in with promise of returning it next morning this was not done and when I paid the bill after two nights stay they did present my passport with the paid bill and as it is not normal to leave passport for duration of stay in Europe did not focus on this. 5 mins after checkout - where i would still have been at the hotel premises - they sent an email - DESPITE the fact that they had my phone number from the same previous email) that they had forgotten to give me my passport but when I read my emails I was already in Lucca on my way to Florence Airport. I requested them to find a solution to bring it to me but they did not even bother to call back. Eventually i had no other choice to drive two hours back and Zero apology or offer reduce the bill for my inconvenience of two hours lost time, drive and fuel.

We stayed about a week at the hotel. There is a rather large parking with sunshades next to the hotel. We had a sea view room, but it was quite loud inside, even with window closed. We were able to hear cars, people outside and inside as well as an elevator from inside the room. Breakfast was very basic, especially for us - vegans. I am grateful that they were able to provide vegan croissants and some coconut yoghurts, but overall it was a lot less than we were expecting from a four-star hotel. Even for non vegans, simple eggs for breakfast was an additional €3 - €5 euro. They were speaking above average English for the area.

It is nothing like the pictures. We were shocked when we arrived. The rooms were dirty. Mold in the bathroom. The rooms looked like they were from the 90's. The whole hotel was old and dirty. There is nothing to do over there. It is also not laying on a beach. We booked it because they said they have a private beach which is not true. Also the breakfast was very sad. Had to stand in a very long line because there was only one staff member to help you. There was only some bread and you can choose from ham, cheese or salami. You couldn't even eat eggs here. Very poor breakfast. It was just not worth it. And at the very end when we wanted to check out, the rate all of a sudden went up. Instead of paying 220 we had to pay 250 euros. Very weird and no one could help us. By the way the wifi also didn't work. We definitely do not recommend this place if you wanna pay so much money for a very bad stay with a dirty room!

I highly recommend the hotel, esp if you arrive by car, since it is easy to reach and has plenty of parking space. Ample breakfast, the pool and pool area are very nice. The rooms are large and have kitchenettes. Good supermarkets areare found about a kilometer away. The beach is on the other side of the road. The location is a strength as well as a weakness. On the one hand, the hotel is easy to reach by car. On the other hand, there is a 500 m walk to the Lido di Camaiore boardwalk, and teh Viareggio boardwalk is better. We drove to Viareggio (4 km) for dinner, there is ample parking space. If you prefer you can rent a bike from the hotel.

Typical tourist hotel, the rooms are of reasonable standard, the central A/C system is set at 5 degrees below outside temperature, which is not enough during hot summer days. Breakfast is typical for a full tourist hotel, rather noisy and busy, however staff tries to do their utmost.

Good location, decent rooms, reasonable staff, fair facilities, everything okay except for breakfast which was a bit disappointing. Probably better than a three star hotel but just short of a four star in my book.
