I chose the hotel given the excellent reviews I had read, and I was not disappointed. The food really is of an excellent quality and beautifully presented. The hotel has a happy hour for pre-dinner drinks and a nice selection of wines too. All the staff, and Salvatore and Grazia that run the hotel, are very friendly and helpful. This included providing information about where to buy bus tickets, bus stops and time tables. The hotel is exceptionally clean too. It was very easy to use the buses travelling to Lucca, Pisa and Pietrasanta, and they appeared to be very reliable. The beach which is a short walking distance from the hotel is clean, with a nice promenade. There's also a local market along the promenade on a Monday morning. If you're looking for a nice friendly hotel, with excellent food and service, I would definitely recommend. I definitely will return again.

This is the second time my wife and myself have stayed at the Hotel Fortunella in the last 2 years. If you are looking for fantastic food, fantastic service and a very friendly family run hotel, situated in a lovely area, within striking distance of Florence, Pisa, Lucca and many other places by Bus or Train then look no further. The hotel is nicely decorated and has a restaurant which serves 4 courses for dinner all brought to your table by very friendly and efficient staff as well as the owners. It also has good size bedrooms a bar / lounge for pre dinner drinks also a garden area. The area of Lido di Camaiore has a good promenade with shops and restaurants, that extend to the next resort of Viareggio which is about 2.5 miles away, there are plenty of private beaches for which you can get a discount on from the hotel, that have all the facilities if you want to chill out for a day or two, all within a short walk from the hotel. Bus stops are 200 to 300 meters away and you can get all you bus tickets from the tobaconist by the bus stop also your water. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, so much so that after speaking to my Daughter and son - in - law about our experience they have made a booking for a 2 week stay in May 2024.

We have just returned from Hotel Fortunella, everything was fantastic from the rooms which are very spacious and the staff which nothing is too much trouble. The food was different every day and amazing. The staff are all very helpful even sorting out times of buses/trains etc. we had an amazing holiday and will definitely be returning. We were in room 203 very quiet and lovely views. It is definitely more than a 3 star, ideally placed to visit other places, transport excellent.

Three of us ladies of an age visited for a special 4 night break to celebrate milestone birthdays. After reading the reviews for this hotel we decided on the food reviews alone this was for us and it certainly did not disappoint. The location is perfect close to the prominade with bars, restaurants , craft stalls and a wonderful Monday market. We decided on private tours to Cinque Terre and Maionchi Lucca Hills Vineyard but transport links from hotel were easy. The evening meal at this hotel is amazing so lovely to taste all the different traditional authentic foods. We are already in discussions about returning !

A small family run hotel that I cannot praise highly enough. From the moment you arrive you will experience exceptional service and food. The hotel is ideally situated for a day at the beach: a five minute walk away; a reduction at one of the beach clubs, with a card from the hotel, which provides loungers and parasol etc. Shops and a range of restaurants to suit every taste stretch for miles along the promenade adjacent to a sandy beach. Life guards are on duty at points along the beach. An ideal base to explore Tuscany; bus stop is a five minute walk away; purchase tickets at any tobacconists. The picturesque villages of Pietrasanta and Camaiore are about 20 minutes away. Lucca is about 50 minutes by bus. We travelled to Florence by train which takes about 1 hour 45 minutes leaving Viareggio station; you can get a direct train or change at Pisa. The food is AMAZING you will be spoilt with each of the four courses. Something for everyone, dietary requirements are easily and swiftly managed. Drinks are paid for each night after your meal in Euros. There are insufficient words to describe the kindness and sincerity of Salvatore, Grazia, their whole family and all staff. They were kindness itself; supporting me as friends when my husband became seriously ill and required ongoing hospitalisation. They moved mountains to accommodate our family at one of the hotel's busiest times of the year. Picking me up from the hospital and making sandwiches for me to take to the hospital for my husband are just two examples of their generosity. The welcome my husband received on his discharge from hospital to the hotel was special and genuine from all the family and staff. We will be eternally grateful for their kindness and support at an exceptionally difficult time. If you are after genuine Italian cuisine, hospitality and friendliness then you will not be disappointed at Hotel Fortunella.

Booked last minute for our first holiday to Italy. Couldn't have asked for a better hotel, the welcome and food was amazing. We stayed on a half board basis and very much looking forward to the food which was outstanding. The evening meal consisted of 4 courses which you selected your choice the day before. Each day had different options and we couldn't wait until 7.30pm for the meal to start. The room had everything needed - safe, fridge and air con. Wi-fi available for a small fee covering the week we stayed. Beach and promenade filled with bars restaurants and shops only a 5 minute walk away and goes on for miles! Fee payable for sunbeds and parasol on the beach however there is a free part which is less than a 10 minute walk from the hotel. I wouldn't normally visit the same place but will definitely be returning (for more than a week next time!) . Plenty of places to visit using the local bus or train. A great family run business with a very warm welcome which I would highly recommend 😀

This hotel is a very nice family run small hotel. The welcome you get from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave is just wonderful. The bedrooms are spacious and we had a room with balcony overlooking the garden which was lovely for the early morning and afternoon sun. The rooms simply furnished and have aircon which was very nice when you get back from a warm walk in the sunshine. Breakfast is a continental buffet but they do also have bacon and eggs if that's what you like. There is plenty of tea and coffee available. Evening meal is served to your table and you pre-order the day before. Some people are not keen on this, but I quite like it. I'm quite fussy with my food and I never went hungry. You pay for your evening drinks after dinner each night, which is also good. This way you don't have to think about a bill to pay at the end of the week. We paid a very small fee for the hotel wifi and never had any internet issues. We would definitely stay again if we were coming to Lido Di Camaiore. We used the local buses to get around. They are great, but it is much easier to download the bus app and buy and validate your tickets on the app. It saves having to find a shop to purchase tickets and validating them when you get on the bus.

We recently stayed at the Hotel Fortunella in Lido de Camaiore. What a Fantastic find from when we walked in to when we left the whole experience was great. It is a family run hotel and they all made us feel very welcome. The room was a good size for me and my husband and had much needed air con, a mini fridge, a safe a balcony and was spotlessly clean. The hotel is in a great location it’s a 5 minute walk from the beach (the hotel gave us a discount for the beach (we paid €25 for the day) and shops which run along the beach front for miles! There is often a market too. The bus stop is about 5 minutes walk to where you purchase a ticket from any tobacconist and you can visit Viareggio, Lucca, Pietrasanta Camaiore Town and Pisa all up an hour away. (Good tip is to download the bus app which gives you all the bus times). Florence is best by train from Viareggio to Pisa then to Florence it’s very easy. Right I now need to mention the food omg it is sooo good. They ask you to be seated for 7:30 and usually finishes around 9:30 sitting outside in the garden it was lovely watching it go dark and all the lights come on very chilled and there are no mosquitoes. There are 4 courses which you choose from the menu the night before. It is beautifully presented and tastes equally good, I recommend the soup ! And the chocolate bomb which Salvatore re did just for me because I asked him I I could have it again before we went home Thank you Salvatore ! It is such a nice atmosphere and the staff all are lovely and helpful nothing is too much trouble. This hotel and the food should be at least a 4 * if not 5*****

This is a lovely family run hotel in Lido di Camaiore. The staff were all friendly, attentive and helpful. We stayed on a half board basis. The breakfast choices were really good and plentiful. It was a buffet style with both hot and cold selections (bacon and eggs cooked to your liking) cold meats and cheeses as well as cereals, toast and fresh bread conserves, yoghurt, cakes and fresh croissants. Coffees and teas and fresh fruit juices. The evening meals ( 4 courses) were a gastronomic delight equal to the standards of a top restaurant in my opinion. I have to say the home made soups were delicious! We ate outside in the lovely garden which was so pleasant. The rooms were clean and tidy and the whole hotel was too. Salvatore was very helpful with bus times for trips to Pisa and Lucca which are around 45-50 mins away. I can recommend this hotel if you are looking in this area.
