Good service, very cozy hotel! the location is the best, almost ski in and out, a few steps only to the main lift. Large reception, bar with best service and fair price, piano and good atmosphere. Dinner is included and the restaurant is nice, good variety of food and they can make you a special dish if you wish. The sky room is spacious and warm. The massage at the spa is wonderful but the mandatory naked policy sauna, was inconvenient to our family and friends. The swimming pool area is ok, could be much better. Our room was large and clean! Beautiful view of the mountain. The shower on wc space tinny and towels very small! But overall our stay was nice and we will definitely go back!!!

What more can you expect from a hotel, perfect location ( ski lift and ski rental next door). Amazing food and service. The perfect barman and his great gin/tonic. Pool and spa with all you can dream of. The Kostner family is doing all they can to make a stay at their hotel a very special experience. Have already booked next winter. Great in the summer also for hiking and cycling.

Location, Location- the Posta Zirm is right at the center of Covara Village with shops and restaurants just steps away. I was part of a 9 person group of skiers who had been skiing in Austria and now we were staying a week in Covara to ski Alta Badia. The variety of terrain and the great lift system means you can ski a different area every day of the week. The Col Alt gondola is just out the back of the hotel. The ski room was great with racks on wheels for skis and boot drying racks. Just come down in the morning and gear up, walk out the door and the gondola is right there.

We did half board and the food was excellent, especially dinner with 3 main dish choices daily as well as daily variety. Breads, cheeses, fruits, salads and dessert on a buffet for individual selection. Breakfast was buffet with a nice selection to choose from. They had an orange press for fresh OJ and a juicer for apples and carrots. We had the same table every meal and the same two servers who we got to know. We met a family group from Austria who have been coming to the Posta Zirm for 22 years I believe that says a lot.

The rooms were good sized and clean and the beds comfortable, the bath was great with walk in shower. There was a large heated rack for towels and drying ski clothes

All the staff was helpful and friendly especially the front desk
The bar area is very nice and includes a fantastic machine that slices spect ( ham like prosciutto) in very thin portions which they deliver with some crackers and olives apres ski. Wine, beer and cocktails are good and reasonably priced. There is also a lounge/pub downstairs for apres ski which was a lot of fun.
The views from the hotel are incredible as well as all over Covara.
I could go on for a long time about Posta Zirm but before I end I must mention the spa and pool- these were great for relaxing after a day of skiing, clean and well maintained. They have massage available at good prices.

My wife was not on this ski trip so I want to bring here in the fall for her birthday to do some hiking and biking

Evertyhing was professional from the reservation process on.
The location could not be better. Room was extra spacious, very clean and had a nice view on the slope. We had our dog with us and the reservations department managed to secure the pet friendly room category for us, even if initially was not available. This gesture was really highly appreciated.
We chose to have half board. The breakfast had a great selection of hot and cold dishes and the 4-course dinner was very tasty with plenty of choice on 3 different menus. Worth the visit!

I was with a hiking group on a trip in the Dolomites, and the Posta Zirm was our first stop. It was a highlight of our trip. The rooms are comfortable with every amenity, but the owner, Franz, and everyone on his staff made this a memorable experience. The service from everyone was the best. They were all very friendly and efficient, the perfect combination. We had two dinners in their restaurant and everything was wonderful, and our waiters always assisted us in choosing great wines. They have so many special touches, like the dessert bar on our first night, the afternoon teas in the bar and the amazing prosecco party on Sunday (don't miss it!) We also loved the bar with the best Aperol and Hugo Spritzes that we had on our trip.

The hotel is well located for the Col Alt lift.
It is beautiful inside with generous proportions. The quality finishes are appreciated.
We thought the food excellent quality with choice from 3 menus inc vegan!
I would only fault the quality of the breakfast orange juice.
Our server was Alex and we would like to thank him for the warm, friendly professionalism.
Our room was large with wrap round balcony and a stylish bathroom with bathtub.
The bed was comfortable but after a couple of days we questioned the quality of the sheet we were lying on (the duvet felt pure cotton). That evening a pure cotton sheet was put on the bed and the sheet we complained about was actually the undersheet so if this was an oversight, it was a big one by housekeeping.
I now have a skin rash from the first few days sheet.

Perfect location for skiing at doorstep and easy access to village. Every staff member so helpful and friendly.
The breakfasts and dinners were faultless with everyone catered for.
Great bar and entertainment.
A big thank you to all the staff.
Our new room was very Italian contemporary being a new room and the interior design faultlessly beautiful.
We intend taking our family back.

Marvelous meals at this excellent hotel. We had the all inclusive package and highly recommend it. Desert night is off the charts. Large spa downstairs, with pool, steam room options, sauna, jacuzzi, and showers, communal clothing optionsl.
the rooms are large. The owners is very hands on, and accessible.

My husband, daughter and I spent 10 nights at this hotel.
The best thing about the hotel is the location and the worst the food. The breakfast never varied and it was not possible to make toast as there was no toaster in the buffet area which is unusual. There were no crepes, pancakes, omelettes or waffles which my daughter sometimes likes to have on vacation.
Dinner was disappointing as the nighty salad bar never varied and the food on the menu was not great -we were on half board but soon took the nightly dinner credit and ate elsewhere.
The room has no stocked mini bar and there is no water in the room at night or during the day other than the day we arrived.

There are no turn down treats.
I had a cold and there was no
tea or coffee making facilities.
And when I asked for a kettle it was brought up but with no tea bags or cup or saucer which meant going down to the dining room to ask for these things.

It lacked a feeling of hospitality.
The spa was lovely but all the chap in the Spa area seemed to do was every time you said a word was to ask you to be quiet.

It was only open during the afternoon which was a shame as I had wanted to have an early afternoon steam and relaxation in the spa but it was not possible.

There was absolutely no English TV and we all battled with Internet service as it kept failing.

Attention to detail in housekeeping was average as the vanity set was only replaced when I asked for it days after the cotton wool was finished.
The room was typical of an Italian ski village but I found it dark. The room was over heated at night so we used the blankets which made all the difference and did not use the duvets.
The location is the best thing about the hotel. The staff were polite but not particularly friendly in the bar area. The main barman was good.
The pizzeria which belongs to the hotel had a large variety of pizza bases to choose from but the toppings selection was poor- no seafood pizza or real vegetarian pizza for example.

Response from PostaZirm, Owner at Posta Zirm Hotel
Responded 4 Feb 2015
Dear reader, thanks for taking a few minutes to read our reply to the upper comment. We are trying to give a very straight forward information and leave it up to the reader to judge. Breakfast and salad buffet do not vary, we have a standard we keep all days: our breakfast buffet has a large choice of breads (8 different kinds), cakes (4 different kinds), fresh croissants (2 kinds), 2 home made marmalades, 4 further ones of highest quality, fresh fruit, cereals etc. You can find the bacon and scrambled eggs on the buffet and we prefer to do the fried eggs the moment you order them. They are without of charge. The breakfast buffet also has a wide choice of bread and sweets from Dr. Shaer that is the leading producer of gluten free bakery. This is not a list of all products on the buffet, but it gives an idea. The salad bar consists of 22 different kind of salads every night, plus 1-2 assorted meats (raw ham, dry salted beef, mortadella, coppa etc.). The menu consists every day of 3 different kinds you can choose from à la carte style. Typically you have 2 soups, 3 starters to choose from, 3 main courses to choose from, 2 desserts, a dessert buffet. One of these menus are prepared fresh every single day to assure utmost quality of food. A vegan menu is also available every day! It is a pity that this client has gone out for dinner so much and so missing all the gastronomic events we had (and the menu is on the table since breakfast to have a look at it). On Mondays we have a welcome aperitive with canapés, drinks etc, on Wednesdays we have a typical night with a home smoked ham and cooked in steam that our customers just love, on Thursdays during high season we have a large cheese buffet (between 12-15 different ones) and on Fridays we have a desserts night with at least 25 different kind of sweets. We would like to remind our customers that we have music entertainment with piano 3-5 times a week. We fill up the minibar on request, it is enough to leave your order on the room and we take care of it. So the tea, ask for it and we provide it. The client itself from inside the room can adjust the temperature, this can also be done by us if requested. Of course we can provide thicker or thinner blankets such as duvets of different size and weight any time a guest likes. We do provided turn down treats every night between 19.30 and 22.00, unless the DO NOT DISTURB sign is on the door or the guest is in the room and does not wish to be disturbed. We are not aware of any failure of the internet connection in the past 2 months. Internet may not be as quick as in towns or at your home, Corvara is on 1650 meters over sea level and though we review our contract every year to bring it up to date, the speed you get in the mountains is limited. The established internet connection on any device disconnects after 30 minutes of non usage. Though, the service is for free and works in all rooms. We have always provided tea making facilities upon request, please just ask for it. Many times people ask for a water boiler to heat the children’s food or other things, we can not know that. The SPA is ment to be a relaxing place. While talking to ones friends may be relaxing for someone, it may not be for someone else. Therefore we have a person taking care of the place and advises guests when the conversation may disturb other guests. It is common that the same persons must be reminded again and again, this is just because they miss in understanding the significance of the place. The hotel disposes of large facilities where one can meet and chat with others, one very beautiful one is just next to the spa. The spa itself is ment to be a quite place. It is really interesting to see your comment about our pizza /grill / restaurant. We are the very first pizzeria of the region offering a multi cereal pizza and a fresh gluten free pizza! So we are the only pizzeria using mother dove (no yeast) and have a fermentation time of 72 hours for our dove. This to guarantee best quality and a light meal. Our menu of the pizza is public on our facebook web page. Anyone can see that we do provide for example a pizza with fresh tuna (not from the can!). As we are checking the menu to write this reply, we find a vegetables pizza (actually three) under the chapter PIZZA GARDEN. We offer a variety of 32 different pizzas, only use tomato S. Marzano (the best tomato you can use) and Fiordilatte cheese instead of mozzarella. This is the exclusive gourmet mozzarella cheese. Our restaurant is not specialized on seafood, but we have a wide selection of meats and grill. Corvara is 4 hours away from the sea side and it is very very difficult to secure fresh quality products at all times. Our large selection of pizzas include today 13 vegetarian pizzas out of 32. Considering these facts, we can imagine how this was overseen by the customer. We honestly find it hard to recognize much of truth in this client’s review (especially if it is easily checked from a public menu) but assure the reader to follow all indications given and understand if we have failed in providing the service of a four star hotel. We would like to thank once more everyone that has spent the time reading the entire reply. Fam. Kostner Posta Zirm Hotel

Both my wife and I are fortunate enough to travel widely and frequently. In our experience there are few better places to stay than the Hotel Posta Zirm in Corvara.
In winter, the skiing around the Sella Ronda and Alta Badia are without comparison. Views are magnificent, and probably the best in Europe. We were able to visit this hotel last summer, which is also an ideal time to go. In September, the tree colours bear comparison with New England, and the sunsets are memorable.
The hotel possesses some very fine and comfortable rooms. We had a great view of the mountains to wake up to each day. Both in winter and summer you can access the mountains easily from the nearby Col Alto cabin lift.
The Wellness centre at the hotel is first class. We thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of the facility- which provided some wonderful treatments for aching limbs.
The staff at the hotel are excellent. All of them are very welcoming, and we are sure this is due to the fact the hotel is well managed by the Kostner family.
The menu is varied and extensive, offering both traditional and modern dishes. These can be both Italian and South Tyrolean in nature. Notably the wine list is well worth contemplating-it requires a month or two to work through.
We enjoyed our stay so much we intend to return again this spring. If you don't ski, consider the Hotel Posta Zirm as an excellent base for the region if you want to enjoy the Dolomites this summer.

We had a duplex family suit with two rooms ,which was very comfortable but had no balcony. It was facing the backside of the hotel though. Our friends stayed in a delux room which was facing the front entrance and the main road. This one had a balcony and a lovely view. I would recommend insisting on a room facing the front. They all had balconies.
