Best place in the area to visit. Excellent service during my visit with no complaints. Food was amazing, the best around. Staff was very friendly and attentive to all my needs. I highly recommend staying here if you are in the area five stars!

We had booked into this hotel for two nights whilst in France watching the Tour de France. The hotel is basic but clean and the staff, apart from the Manager, are very nice. We ate in the restaurant on the second night, the food was acceptable, but, at 9.00pm the Manager was wanting us to vacate the restaurant so that he could close the bar!!!! We found him extremely arrogant and rude towards us and was talking about us in French to other guests who happened to be French....the French guests were very embarrassed by this and told us so after the Manager had the left the room. Under the circumstances we cannot recommend this hotel.

Clean, quiet, comfortable bed. Nice location by river. Try to get room with small porch.

Friendly hosts. Restaurant - limited, but satisfying lunch (only offered salads), good fixed price menu, nice wine selection, non-descript breakfast.

Good value.

I spent one night at this auberge ( because it cannot be considered a hotel). My room was a 'comfort' room and thus more expensive, though it had nothing at all to distinguish it from a normal room, and you had to cross a hallway to reach the bathroom. The set dinner had tiny portions and was very mediocre, and the breakfast (8 Euros) was really miserly. The waitress was unfriendly and unhelpful. Its the only place to get anything in the village, so you've nothing else to choose from. The place is expensive and definitely not worth staying in if you can avoid it.

Stayed on a bike trip. Rooms were fine for one night and the bathrooms had been recently modernised so pretty good. We had a few beers in the bar with the locals and then had the set dinner in the restaurant by the river. Breakfast was a DIY affair but adequate.

My husband and I and our 5 teenage nieces, plus our friends and their daughter, alll from Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey, USA, visited St. Lary in July 2012 and stayed at the lovely Auberge de L'Isard. We were touring through France on our way to the Tour de France in Bagnères-de-Luchon. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, and the owners were very accommodating. We loved eating outdoors next to the rushing mountain stream. At breakfast we watched interesting videos on crafts, sheepherding and music of the Pyrenees. Marian Young

On our arrival, a warm welcome with a smile we felt at ease and we were given all the information. Very clean room, good bedding, nothing to say about the running of the place which seems perfect. Exemplary catering, homemade and local cuisine with very pleasant service. Friendly atmosphere. Breakfast is served with a good variety of local products: cold meats, cheese, honey and local bread. The charm of the place is magnificent 😍 river and mountain. Ideal setting for a romantic or family stay. Beautiful walks in the surrounding area and visits to the surrounding villages. We'll come back! We recommend you.
