When in Batroun, Villa Paradiso Guesthouse is a little gem not to miss. It is conveniently located right in the heart of the old souk, within walking distance of many restaurants and local retail shops and delicatessens. This typical Lebanese house has been refurbished with a lot of finesse and tact and now houses just about six rooms and a lodge. You enter through a large arcade and you find yourself on a large terrace of an Italian restaurant. You go up the stairs to find a top view over the old city and a unique perspective on St. Stephan's church. The rooms are clean, well maintained, and comfortable to stay in. The breakfast is very enjoyable with a selection of locally made cheese, brioche, and jam (the raspberry jam is not to be missed). Our host and owner, Rita, was charming and extremely helpful in guiding us through the best places in town. If you're in the mood for a MAMA-Mia-style getaway, check out this place.…
This is a very old building renovated and offering six nicely appointed rooms a terrace and a breakfast corner. We went there with another family and we truly enjoyed the week end . Rita and Rita or the way I called them "Rita au carre “ are charming and very hospitable. The breakfast buffet is Limited but the omelette menu is beyond five star hotels (very personalized). We asked for one room late check out and got it offered for one room which was very helpful especially that we had kids with us. All in all, highly recommended
Stunning little place. Wonderful old world structure. Marvelous staff from Wadad, Paula, Remi, Rita Chris and the terrific Maree Therese the chef who creates traditional breakfast every morning. Spotlessly clean and well located. Lobby / Art Gallery is also a treat. Few issues; if you can't handle steep, long stairs this isn't the place for you - only way to access your rooms. The pleasant rooms are small - perfect for short stays. I stayed 7 nights - by the 4th night it felt like solitary confinement. No TV, No Safe but good wifi. I attended the Batroun Film Festival and the opening night dinner was held at the villa. Could not fault the food or the organisation. Highly recommended for corporate events, weddings or functions. It's the perfect boutique hotel for a short stay hosted by wonderful people, in a spectacular part of Lebanon. I'll be back.…
Wonderful experience spent in Villa Paradiso guest house. The first surprise is the very refined, refurbished old lebanese house. The roofbar is very enjoyable with delicious food and drinks. The room was delightful, comfortable and clean, and the breakfast buffet was very rich and tasty with homemade and local products. I would like to thank the whole team for a wonderful weekend. I hope i’ll be seeing you very soon
I recently planned a wedding a Villa Paradiso. I chose it because I like its old charm and its laidback setting, plus the owner was very helpful and encouraging over the phone. I wanted to bring in a caterer for the wedding, but the owner said that they have their own, and she recommended an excellent Chef for a seated dinner menu. We decided on the menu over the phone as we were short on time: - Shrimps on a bed of vegetables - Green Salad - Beef filet with puree and caramelized onion sauce - Fruits with their sauce and vanilla ice cream jar Plus open bar. When we arrived the setting was as expected, but the stress and deception started when the team was late in serving the drinks. It was clear that the team is not trained nor organized. Several guests had to wait long before getting their drinks. The first entrée was ok taste wise but the quantity was little, and I noticed that some plates had three shrimps while others had only two. The shrimps came with a green salad. The green salad quantity was so small that it was ridiculous. Plus, how an excellent chef recommends two very similar starters. Than the beef filet came, it was delicious but the filet was cut in pieces, it wasn’t in one piece. I said ok, no problem. Than the big shock was the dessert! It was just a small ball with two pieces of fruits and a sauce like Bledina’s kids meal! What a deception! Shocking, really shocking! It was ridiculous. I was so ashamed from my guests. The service was bad during all the dinner, the main course was served on some tables and not on others, we had to ask for it several times. Plus on the children tables, they served smaller quantities of beef! How cheap is that!?! The drinks were very late in being served each time, so the guests had to wait long before getting any. My mistake was that I paid the whole amount at the beginning of the dinner as I trusted them, I should have waited till the end, as it was clear that I am dealing with amateurs who don’t know a thing about dinners and weddings. To top it all, when while leaving I complained to the owner about the above several points, she just brushed off my comments saying that my guests were happy and satisfied and that I don’t need to be so worried. A very unprofessional management of Villa Paradiso. They don’t know how to deal with clients and how to handle a constructive feedback. At any restaurant, even small ones, when a client gives a negative feedback, they apologize and try to understand what the problem is, plus they give you a compensation. At Villa Paradiso, I paid a high price for a minimal menu, bad service and deceiving overall experience, and my comments were brushed off carelessly. The owner didn’t even apologize and didn’t offer to give any compensation, so unprofessional!…
Amazing place, lovely atmosphere, perfect service welcoming staff ... you just feel at home ....villa paradiso IS DEFINITELY MY FAVORITE PLACE.. not to mention the quality of food and the refined selection...
In the middle of the old down in Batroun near st stephan church you can find this authentic, relaxing, wonderful place ( restaurant- rooftop- guesthouse). The open buffet on Sunday is outstanding, great setup with very good quality and tasty food. The rooftop at night is cool with gentle bartenders, recommended for a casual gathering. And dont miss too the artistic events well organized and very interesting. So Villa Paradiso is highly recommended and you will not regret your visit at all.
It’s a jewel in the middle of Batroun Old town with a great view on St Stephano Church and close to the phenician wall and the beach...A great getaway for an evening, a day or a whole weekend. I regularly visit the place for a chilled lunch or a drink at the roofbar or even to attend special cultural and artistic events that they cater at Villa Paradiso. It’s a venue/ hotel with a soul! Not to be missed!
