Hotel Plaza Duce is highly regarded for its exceptional service, with guests often commending the friendly and efficient staff. Nestled on the beachfront, the hotel offers a tranquil setting ideal for seaside relaxation, complemented by modern rooms that boast spaciousness and stunning sea views. While the location may be too quiet for some, the cleanliness and state-of-the-art amenities consistently impress guests.
The value is also notable, with reasonable prices for various services, though beach amenities might come at a premium. Overall, the hotel provides a serene atmosphere with a variety of praised amenities.

Detailed Reviews
We are a couple that stayed for a week with half board in a nice room with a large balcony and sea view. The room was really cosy , well cleaned and had both bathtub and shower, two sinks and plenty of hygiene articles which were re-stocked daily.
The food was really delicious, especially the four course-dinner that is included. Breakfast was good with lots of options. All meals are served at the table, à la carte instead of a buffet, and the staff wear face masks. The tables were set up with a good distance between them and you could use hand sanitizer before entering the restaurant. We tried lunch the first day (not included in half board) and it was really tasty.
The staff was generally nice, friendly and helpful and the hotel is modern, quiet and a good choice for couples. Only one party can use the elevator at the same time, which is really good!
The beach is right across the road from the hotel and excellent. The water is very warm and relaxing, and pretty shallow. You can rent sunbeds for 75 kuna a day and beach towels for 20 kuna. This surprised us, that you have to pay for the sunbeds as well as the towels when you are already staying at the hotel. Have never experienced it before when we've stayed at other beach hotels. What also surprised us is that anyone can stay at the beach and rent a sunbed, even if they are not guests at the hotel - which means that there a fewer sunbeds for the hotel guests. There is a small bar at the beach (run by the hotel) where you can buy drinks, coffee and ice cream. The distance when you are lying on the beach, between the sunbeds is quite short and nobody sanitizes them, just at the pool.
Some things that struck us is that there is no mandatory requirement for guests to wear a face mask at the hotel which is quite surprising in these times and some of the guests were repeatedly coughing (by the pool, in the elevator, in the restaurant). Besides swimming and sunbathing or beach sports, there is little to do. The nearest town is Omis, which is a 40 minute walk away. And you have to walk just by the road, with crazy drivers, which is not very pleasant. If you want to go to Split, you can easily take a bus for 17 kuna each, and it takes about 40 minutes. However, there are not any particular walking areas around the hotel and very few shops, just a Konzum convenient store and a ladies shop at the hotel. Not even a store for beach equipment.
We had a very nice stay at Plaza Duce and we will happily return again!

We’ve just got home from a weeks stay at hotel plaza. We really enjoyed our stay and the staff were so accommodating and friendly, especially Luca at the pool/beach bar and all the ladies on reception. Hotel Manager and Catering Manager also helped us plan a hike and were really informative and helpful. Food was great and so much choice, given the time of year we visited and with it being fairly remote I would definitely recommend half board as the choice is huge and all great quality, so didn’t feel we were missing out on local restaurants. We did eat out one night and had a few lunches out but were happy to eat at the hotel.
The rooms were really clean and modern with some nice extra touches such as dressing gown and remotely controlled curtains, lighting etc and screen sharing on the TV so we could watch a film etc.. The beach area was small but nice and great you can hire paddle boards etc. I would recommend bringing sea shoes 100%, not just to this hotel but Croatia in general as the beaches are stoney. Only thing I would say is I have never had to pay for the hire of a sun bed on the beach before where we have stayed previously, would be nice if this was included.
Pool and spa area was great (i was a little surprised by the naked guests in the spa from other European countries! Each to their own! 🤣) I had a spa treatment during the stay which was quite pricey but brilliant. If you want to get out and about to explore there is a regular bus but you could get a reasonably priced Uber or taxi via the hotel into Split and Omis (Uber was cheaper but hotel taxi more reliable) but I would recommend hiring a bike/car. Plitvice Lakes was a must and the 5 island Blue cave/Hvar tours which you can book through the hotel.
All in all a fantastic hotel if you want top quality, great food and somewhere quiet. We had researched a lot so knew it was quite remote which may not suit some, but we love walking and cycling so was great for us and we walked/cycled to many of the local areas to explore.
Thanks for an amazing stay! The Smiths 💕

Ive just returned from an amazing short stay at Hotel Plaza Duce, this hotel is beautiful, really clean, modern and the staff couldn't do more for you. My family and I have had the most relaxing stay, from the smooth transfer pick-up organized by the hotel, to the spacious room and bathroom to the pool bar service we've felt really looked after. The reception staff are amazing and made some great recommendations on where to eat and places to visit.
Our room had an lovely sea and pool view, the rooms have everything you need including, usb ports and both UK and European plug points for all your device charges, an ironing board, hairdryer, kettle even a umbrella incase of a little shower. The hotel spa provide pool towels to ensure you get a fresh towel each day which was great and saved space in our case.
The hotel is in Duce which is pretty quiet (which was great for us) but it was only a 30 minute walk (or 10 min bus ride cost 11Kn) into old town Omis where there are a variety of restaurants, there is jet skiing and pedlos to be hired from the cute beach bar opposite the hotel which is owned by the hotel and other activities in Omis. Split is a 30/40 minute bus ride away (cost 18kn) or 20 mins in a taxi (which will cost about £45 (380 kn) which is beautiful, lots of restaurants, bars, clubs for everyone. The food, wine and cocktails at the hotel pool bar were really good and the breakfast was great too!
Overall I would highly recommend this hotel & Croatia couldn't fault it at all and can't wait to return. Thank you for an amazing stay.

I stayed in this hotel during the weekend. It is one of the best hotel that I have ever been at. All staff has been treating us very well and we felt welcome. We only had breakfast and it was delicious and lots to choose from. Hotel has two pools which are great. We saw that the staff disinfects sunbeds after every use.
All in all, we had the best time in this hotel and I hope that I will come again.

We stayed here for one week at the beginning of August. The hotel is immaculately clean and all appropriate Covid precauations are in place. The rooms and all hotel surroundings are beautiful and well kept, the staff were all excellent and couldnt do enough for you. Breakfast is currently served to you rather than a buffet which is a shame but still a great choice and you could order as much as you like. We had lunch a few times at the pool bar, the food was lovely and great value as were the drinks and ice-creams. Great service for drinks etc at the pool with a bell to ring for service and everything can be booked to the room so no need for cash at the pool or at the beach where the bar is owned by the hotel. We never had to rush for a sun lounger by the pool which rally added to the relaxing feel of the holiday as getting up at 6am to reserve a bed really spoils a holiday for us! Plenty of space around the pool and you could usually find somewhere to sit at any time of day. The weather was a but mixed our first few days so we used the indoor pool and hot tub which was lovely, we also got the bus to Split which was a nice afternoon and worth a visit. We did the zipline croatia in Omis which the hotel reception sorted out for us, fantastic fun and well worth doing. We travelled into Omis 3 evenings for food, absolutely beautiful town with lots of lovely restaurants to choose from, we walked there which took about 45 mins and got the bus back for 11 Kuna each, we also got taxis there and back which takes 5 mins, prices varied from 40 kuna to 65 kuna depending on the time or day and driver. We had a fantastic, relaxing holiday which was just what we needed after a very busy few months of work during lockdown and the relaxing feel of the hotel really helped us and our teenage kids to chill out and just do nothing for a week. I wouldnt hesitate to recomend this hotel and the surrounding area and would visit again.

We booked this hotel given they had amazing reviews and when we arrived, we could see why!
When we arrived at the hotel, we were shown to our room by one of the members of staff and we’re in awe when she opened the door. The room was beautiful and as the door opened, the electric curtains also opened so we could see our over our balcony to the sea. She showed us everything in our room and then as we had booked bed and breakfast, presented us with a voucher for a free dinner that night as our flight has gotten in late. We were so grateful for this.
Once we’d exhausted looking around the room, we went downstairs for dinner which was a buffet style. On offer was fresh fish, fresh salad, potato’s, pasta, pizza, basically anything you could want, it was there. We had a lovely first dinner sat on the balcony of the restaurant.
The pool area is beautiful and is on a rooftop which also has a bit of a breeze which is lovely in the 30+ degree heat! They have buzzers on the table and if you press the buzzer someone will come and take your order from your sunlounger. On an evening the rooftop area is a lovely place to have a strawberry daiquiri. It is very romantic and relaxing. Oh, and the ice cream served in the restaurant by the pool is not to be missed!
The beach is just across the road from the hotel as is beautiful. You can rent sunloungers which are about £15 for 2 loungers and a parasol for the day. There is also a beach bar where you can grab food and drinks.
The indoor spa is also gorgeous. They have a sauna steam room, swimming pool and jacuzzi. I would recommend going early as it does get hot in there during the day in the summer but it is a gorgeous way to start your day.
In terms of location, the hotel is about 40 minutes from Split by bus, which stops outside the hotel, and about 15 minutes by bus to Omis. There is not much around the actual hotel but you can walk to Omis in about 40 minutes and there are a couple of restaurants towards Omis that we went to and were very impressed with. The reception staff are also amazing and will book you a taxi if you want one.
All in all we had a fantastic holiday and absolutely loved our stay. Would recommend to anyone!
Thank you so much!

This is the first holiday that my husband and I have had in a long time, and as it was our Silver Wedding Anniversary we chose to visit Croatia for the first time and stay in this beautiful hotel. It was important that we had a place we could enjoy some peace away from the craziness of our lives and simply relax and enjoy our time away together.
The hotel surpassed all our expectations, the room was beautiful with unexpected features that made our stay so very comfortable. We have been so spoilt that we will sorely miss all of these features when we go home, the self closing curtains especially. No having to get out of bed once you are settled as all the controls are to hand. The safe in our room has given us complete peace of mind when leaving our valuables. The views from our balcony, stunning, the bathroom with a separate shower and bath. I enjoy a bath, my husband the shower, we had the best of both worlds. All thoughtfully set out, and with a press of a button you can notify when you are ready to have your room cleaned or you don’t wish to be disturbed. The air conditioning has been an absolute dream for me when the heat became too much.
The hotel facilities with its outdoor and indoor pools, massage and relaxation services, sauna, jacuzzis, poolside bar service, have been brilliant. And the food just fantastic, a wide range of choices available. The serving staff, especially Viktoria, truly enhance a wonderful dining experience.
The staff at the hotel cannot do enough for you. When I enquired about the provision of Oat Milk, the manager went out of their way to order this in for me. Nothing was too much trouble. Bus time tables, taxi’s, arranging tours, whatever we needed, the staff went out of their way to help.
As for the country, Croatia is beautiful, warm, so very friendly, everyone we encountered spoke English. We went on a tour to KrKa National Park with its waterfalls which was breathtaking. We enjoyed a shopping trip in Split and bought some lovely souvenirs from the market.
I would say that if you are a beach person, the beaches we encountered were more shale than sand. So may not be to your taste. But we didn’t come for the beach, and everything we came and hoped for, Croatia and the Plaza Duce delivered. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, and we are looking forward to coming back next year with our family.
Thank you to all the managers, the staff at the Plaza, for your kindness, your dedicated service, and our warm welcome and indulgent stay.

We've stayed here for four nights. The hotel is extremly clean, rooms nice and spacious. The food was superbe, we were on a halfboard but also ate in the pool bar and everything we had was really delicious.
If you can, choose premium or deluxe rooms since they are not overlooking the main road which is quite noisy (we had superior room on the fifth floor) but if you close the terrace doors you hear nothing...so it was ok :).
Wellness was very good, you can use sauna and indoor pool in the price of a room, also we had massages.
Beaches are nice, clean and sandy.
The staff of the hotel is one of the politest ones we've met, they will do everything so you need to worry about nothing. They are always smiling and helpfull.
Overall, this is a strong 4 stars hotel, better then some with 5 stars.

Wow where to even start, our whole stay here was excellent.
Staff are extremely friendly and accommodating, nothing is too much. They sorted out several things for us including a new room key when ours blew away in a good breeze, and sorted us excursions etc.
The location was good for us, we went pre-season and not much around the hotel was open, so we had to travel to nearby Omis for restaurants etc which we did not mind. It is a fair walk, around 40 minutes but you can get a taxi. Mates taxi as recommended by the hotel were brilliant throughout. However if you want to be somewhere in the middle of the action this might not be the right place.
It is however beautifully located on the hillside, with a lovely beach within walking distance. The beach bar is great for drinks, sun beds and activities which were reasonably priced.
The hotel is absolutely spotless and beautifully decorated, the pool is lovey and the wellness centre with indoor pool, jacuzzi and spa was also great. The location of the pool means it has beautiful views over the coast. Plenty of chairs and sunbeds and the ability to order snacks to eat poolside as well as drinks from the bar.
We went B&B, breakfast was good every morning with plenty of variety, nice juices and coffees as well as fizz!
We stayed in the superior room on the 5th floor. The room was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated with extremely comfy beds and a balcony with an amazing sea-view. If you bring a chrome cast or fire stick this is supported by the TV also.
Overall we couldn’t fault it at all, would recommend this hotel to anyone!

+1
The most amazing holiday in our favourite country ever. From the minute we were collected at the airport by the hotel taxi to the when we had to sadly leave the experiences and memories will live long in our minds.
Our room on the 12th floor was spotlessly clean with all the amenities we were expecting including tea and coffee making facilities, a well stocked and surprisingly competitively priced mini-bar and a balcony with stunning views of the coast.
The food (we upgraded to half-board and so glad we did) was varied and delicious and the staff in the restaurant were attentive and extremely professional.
Omis town was the nearest place to visit and easily and very cheaply reachable via the local bus service (2 Euro each way) and the city of Split, despite being overrun with cruise ship tourists was again well worth the visit (3 Euro)
The private/public beach across the road was clean with sunbeds and parasols available to hire and serviced by the hotels bar and food facilities and a short stroll towards Omis revealed several bars and eating establishments which were somewhere between basic and upmarket.
This review would have been an outstanding 5 but for a strange few days mid holiday when the attention was turned somewhat from the guests enjoyment to an advertising "shoot" including intrusive drone photography, unprofessional models and "directors" and elements of the hotel being off limits.
All in all though an outstanding hotel which we will definitely be visiting again.

Best regards,

Dear,
Yes, there’s a flat pedestrian path along the coast, just 200-300 meters from the hotel, that’s perfect for an early morning run. It’s safe and free of traffic.
Best regards,
Hotel Plaža Duće
