The best campersite we have ever been too, not only quirky and fun, but very hospitable, clean and was full of thoughtful details. All delivered with a sense of humour, the facilities were inspired and Rhys was an awesome host. We will look forward to returning with friends ☺️

What an amazing place, we went as a couple but met friends there. My husband and I stayed in 'The Shack' which was just perfect, we absolutely loved it. A lovely kitchen with big work surface to sit up too, 2 bedrooms to choose from and an inside toilet. The outside area at the front was just perfect to sit out with my cuppa in the mornings. The shower block right next to us was lovely and clean. The social areas are amazing and we spent our evenings there meeting people, cooking jacket potatoes and pizzas. The bottom deck of the bus is a kitchen with everything you would need and the little honesty shop was really useful selling lots of essentials and of course the potatoes! Stu and Reece were really great, helpful and friendly. It's a beautiful place, I absolutely loved the horse and the chickens who are very tame and would come right up and take food from my hand, it made my day. We had one very rainy day, but that was OK as we made full use of the top deck of the bus, relaxing and catching up with everyone and of course we had to use the disco shower! The campsite is in a great location to get to many areas easily. Everything across the site is so quirky, lots of different accommodations that all look great, everywhere you look there is something interesting. We are definitely coming back again. Thanks Stu and Reece!

I've stayed here twice - towards the end of August in 2020 and 2021. Both times, I stayed in Percy, a yellow converted electric street sweeper. The owners are friendly, as are most of the fellow visitors. I was hoping to stay again this summer, but I've not yet had a reply to my email.
It's in a convenient location for walking or cycling - it's in the middle of the island. It's also close to Carisbrooke, with its pubs and shops, and you get a view of Carisbrooke Castle from the site. Despite this, it's very quiet at night - you can't hear anything of the town. The firepit, cooking facilities, kitchen in a bus, and honesty shop provide a good central focus to the site. There are two sets of toilets at either end of the site, and sets of two showers (a standard set, plus the disco shower). The facilities are all kept very clean.

We booked a last minute weekend trip as a family of 3 (two adults and 3 year old son) camping and were impressed by the online reviews. We were not disappointed! Everything at this campsite is designed to spark joy! From the first greeting and a personal tour around the site, to waking up overlooking Carisbrooke Castle, to leaving and seeing bubbles come out of the OMO washing machine van randomly on exit. Facilities: You enter onto the site and immediately in front of you, you can see the communal area which contains the double decker bus kitchen (equipped with free tea and coffee, boiling water, pots, pans, plates, cups, cutlery), communal external oven (which is massive), a dedicated jacket potato oven, open fire for marshmellows, seating area and silent disco room (?!). Along side this, there is another bus with handy basics to buy (including fresh eggs from the onsite chickens!). One main toilet block with shower, toilet and sinks, quirky but spotless. In the camping area to the back of the site there is an additional toilet. Both filled with loo paper and hand towels. Finally, and our favourite, was the disco shower equipped with music, disco lights and surprise buttons. The site itself is super clean and tidy and a delight to walk through because of all the interesting vehicle/glamping accommodation. There is a big pirate ship for the kids to play on, alongside a electric tractor for the toddlers and a silo cinema! We met so many people who were returners over a number of years which says it all really! Will be coming again but for longer and with more buddies in tow! Thanks.

We were thrilled to be back at this fantastic campsite for a second visit and were blown away by how much had been added since our last stay 4 yrs ago! We thought it was perfect then but now it is out of this world AMAZING! Stewart and his team do a fantastic job, the whole campsite is spotless and we felt very safe and relaxed the whole time we were there. All the communal areas had ample sanitiser and were cleaned regularly, I don’t know how they managed it?! I was especially delighted to see the shower shack still in situ and enjoyed a fabulous shower with “ sexy music” every morning and only once had to use the “ emergency Manilow button”!! The addition of the double decker bus is a genius idea and made our stay so easy in terms of prepping food and washing up and it created a nice opportunity to pass the time of day with other campers as does the wonderful bbq area. I am torn between wanting others to know how fabulous this place is but also wanting ( selfishly) to keep it to ourselves!! In these uncertain times it was a joy to visit somewhere that makes you feel so happy. The whole place has a very loving and kind atmosphere. We didn’t want to leave but one thing is for sure, we won’t be leaving it 4 yrs before we visit again!! Thank you ! Thank you! Thank you!

We had such a great stay in Galahad. I'd booked the stay as a treat for my husband's 60th birthday/semi retirement - he had worked with helicopters all his career and the Wessex was one of his first. Such a wonderful opportunity to reminisce! We met Rhys who was an extremely good host and made us feel very welcome. The site is so quirky but doesn't just rest on that reputation - the facilities were extremely clean at all times and lots of thought has obviously gone into this site however casual it may look. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

This site was recommended to us. It is quite unique with dedicated owners who can’t do enough to ensure you enjoy your stay. We took our own Campervan and awning but you don’t need to. Whether you rent one of the site’s special conversions or simply take a tent, the site offers you everything you would need. Whilst delivered in the site’s own style, there are extensive and varied catering facilities including wonderful spud and pizza ovens to more traditional grills and a microwave. Toilet and washroom facilities are varied and were kept clean. The chickens wondering through the site are a nice feature with free eggs on supply and then there’s the 24hr shop for emergency chocolate supplies. Great local dog walks are adjacent to the site and take you around the grounds of the castle towards the village, pub and local supermarket. All in all it’s completely but brilliantly bonkers - well done Stewart and Rhys, we enjoyed every minute

This has been our 5 year of camping at this brilliant quirky campsite. New for this year was the pirate ship, which the children could not stay away from!!!! We are a large party of friends, 4 adults, 9 children aged 6-17. Our stay was full of fun and laughter. Stewart and Rhys are amazing hosts and their team do a fantastic job of keeping the campsite and its facilities spotless. They are there to lend a hand with anything from pitching your tent to setting up the barbecue for guests to use. On one of our days we visited a local attraction and messaged Rhys asking him to light the spud oven and pop out jacket potatoes in for when we get back. How many people can say that they could do this??? The potatoes were cooked to perfection for when we arrived back. We will shortly be booking our stay for next year and we can't wait to see what surprises Stewart has in store 😀

I can only describe it as the most interesting, kirky, well organised and immaculately clean glamping/camping site I have EVER seen. I simply cannot fault it, the Sheppard hut we are in is called Dark Knight and is extremely well equipped and comfortable, suitable for two adults plus 2 kids or teens. Needless to say our nephew adores the entire place. Stewart and Rhys as so nice which is clearly what makes this place. Great atmosphere on the whole site with so much to do. Feels like you've gone into another world. I highly recommend it to families and all those looking for something more than just a camping site. Thank you so much for making it so nice.

What a lovely place to stay. It’s so far from the usual campsites where the tents are all on top of each other and the caravans are all lined up in a field.
The camping field is small with divided off sections and lovely views of the fields. Lots of room for the kids to play. And the loo is very close so we could keep an eye on the kids all the time.
The kids loved the silent disco, the disco shower, and the pirate ship playground. They met the other kids at the campsite and the communal areas meant that it was a sociable and friendly site.
We also stayed in Bond for part of the week, which we all loved. We had friends staying at some of the shepherds huts and each place has its own private outside area which was lovely.
Beautiful views too and 10 minutes walk to the village with lovely pubs. We will definitely be coming again.

Sorry for the late reply, I had an issue with my account. Depends how long you are staying. But you can walk to the castle and the village (nice walk about 20-30 mins) which has pubs and small convenience shops.
There are more places to choose from in the Carisbrooke area.
