This has to be my favourite hotel in the world, not only because it is stunning but also because of the wonderful team that work there. This was my second visit to Mandapa and it was just as special as I remembered it from my previous visit in 2019, if not more. I stayed in one of the reserve suites which are beautiful and very spacious. I loved sitting on the balcony relaxing with a book, looking out down to the paddy fields. I was meant to stay at another hotel after Mandapa but unfortunately my next hotel was disappointing in comparison so I returned. Reka (the hotel manager) was incredibly helpful in arranging my return and I was so pleased to be back at Mandapa for another couple of nights. I was then grateful for the opportunity to stay in one of the villas, which are stunning! I recommend having dinner in one of the bamboo cocoons at Kubu. It’s such a stunning setting and the food is delicious. I also loved breakfast in Sarah Terrace. Definitely make time for breakfast so you can relax and enjoy the view down to the river. The buffet and a La carte choices are great. Lunch at the pool bar is also very good. Don’t miss a cocktail at Ambar, which was new since my last stay and such a stylish addition to the hotel. Mandapa offers a fantastic array of activities, be it at the hotel or exploring Bali. I recommend the tours offered in the vintage VW, their rafting tour and various walks. As I mentioned above, it is the team that really make this hotel stand out. A shout out to Reka; patih Caca and Riadi; housekeeping: breakfast team at Sawah Terrace; pool bar team; Kubu; Ambar, the spa and the guides - credit to all of them! I cannot wait to visit again. On our Bali trip, my husband, 10-year-old daughter, and I experienced stays in several 5-star hotels in Ubud and Nusa Dua. Having visited the Ritz Reserve in Phulay seven times, our love for the brand led us to explore Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Ubud. Recognized as one of the best hotel brands in the world, we were eager to experience the magic of Mandapa and share our wonderful journey with you. Praiseworthy Positives: 🌟 Scenic Beauty: The resort, surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing Ayung River, offers a serene ambiance. Luxurious Villas: The meticulously designed villas blend traditional Balinese aesthetics with modern comforts. Exceptional Service: The staff's personalized attention ensured our stay was memorable. Stunning Swimming Pool: The pool, with its breathtaking view, was amazingly wonderful. Even though our family prefers to admire it rather than swim, it added to the pleasing atmosphere. Points to Ponder: 🤔 Accessibility: The resort's secluded location offers peace but may require travel to reach tourist spots. Guest Activities: The activities offered might not provide a wide variety of choices for kids. Partially Pleasing: 😌 Familiar Views: Coming from Thailand, the view of rice fields, while fascinating, wasn't new to us. Wildlife Encounters: Encounters with mosquitoes, a green snake, and water lizards in the resort were a bit unsettling for my wife. Night Ambiance: The resort is dimly lit and quiet at night. Seasonal Views: Be mindful of the harvest season in Ubud, as the rice fields may appear dry. Nature Walks: Explore the surrounding areas with guided nature walks offered by the resort. We stayed at Mandapa with our family for a week in August. The resort has three restaurants, and all of them served delicious food. The facilities were fantastic as well. We have children, and they had a great time at the kids' club every day. There were even cows on the property that you could feed. But what truly left a lasting impression on us was the incredible service and hospitality of the staff. The butler ladies Kewin and Narjis who took care of us were exceptionally kind to our children and spent a lot of time playing with them. Our kids still talk about wanting to see them again. Additionally, there was a daily cooking class, which we joined multiple times with our children. The teacher was very kind and helpful throughout. We have been recommending Mandapa to all our friends since our return, and my friend who recently stayed there shared great feedback as well. This is definitely a hotel you should visit. …

We stayed in Villa 27, a 400 sq m house with a 15-meter pool immersed in the jungle and a separate gazebo right at the riverbank. The design is authentic, dominated by dark wood and stone shades. The spa offers one of the best massages in Bali! Udayani and Ariani were our massage therapists. We recommend deep tissue with thorough muscle work. The Japanese restaurant, also a sunset-watching spot, offers excellent sushi and ramen. The quality surpasses expectations, just like in Japan. The Indonesian cuisine restaurant features dishes from various regions of Indonesia. Breakfast is very diverse. The best part is that they can prepare any dish on request, and they can even prepare the recipe of any dish you liked. From arrival to departure everything about the Mandapa was perfect, our butler Mathias looked after everything for us and made our trip extra special with little touches. The service is exceptional across the resort, always with a smile and a little something extra, like fresh fruit and coconut water around the pool or little canapés at Ambar. All of the restaurants are excellent, but we would especially recommend booking a cocoon at Kubu for a great dining experience and the private rice paddy BBQ was really good, with wonderful service from the waiter and chef. The cocktails and music at Ambar were fabulous and a great way to watch the sun set. It’s worth booking a treatment at the spa, really peaceful by the Ayung river. We cannot recommend the Mandapa enough!

My stay at Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, was nothing short of incredible in every way imaginable. This place delivered experiences that exceeded my wildest expectations. The villa I had the pleasure of staying in was enormous, complete with its private pool, which was a fantastic touch. Best hotel, service, food, accommodations! Experiences of a lifetime enjoying their Royal picnic, VW convertible tour, Royal Spice Experience and candlelight dinner on the cliff!
