I came for dinner and could see they were short staffed and had some new team members on. The service was great considering and the food was good. Hospitality is struggling at the moment and they were definitely trying their best under tough restrictions.

We visited the Dovey in Aberdovey whilst visiting family, the service and welcome was excellent and the food complimented the service. Would recommend this establishment to anyone visiting the area with a family.

Lovely manager, lovely staff! Had an extended stay in a room with wonderful views across the estuary. Our meals in the cosy bar each day were very enjoyable, so too the breakfasts! The staff were helpful and cheerful despite the uncertainty of the Covid situation. Hope to be back! Thank you.

Booked for a couple of nights, had a lovely seaview room with a big comfortable bed. Breakfast was really excellent, kept me full until early evening meal ( never happens!!!). Had an evening meal one night, service was fantastic, as were all our interactions with the great staff. Meal was average pub grub, but tasty and good value. Every where was clean and they had a good Covid policy which the staff enforced really well. We felt very safe. Room has aircon we did not need, but another essential feature for the summer. The shower was the best I have used in a UK character property, really set me up well for the day. Given the price paid and what we received I can only give 5 stars. Many thanks to all the staff, they made sure we had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Finally, the new Bayside lager went down VERY well! Thanks Marc and staff, if we are this way again we will be back.

Stayed 2 nights, was allocated a family room with fan view which has 2 bedrooms with 4 single beds.. Very handy if you have a partner who snores as had the option to have a room each lol, would say needs updating, floor boards creaky, cistern on toilet also very noisy when flushed, we didn't complain as didn't want to put a dampener on our break away and have to say this wouldn't put us off staying here again, they have social distancing down to a 'T',rooms were spotless and plenty of hand sanitizer throughout the pub available , staff are very helpful and friendly and more than willing to accommodate any requests, the food was fantastic, breakfast was delicious, the service from Dave in particular was excellent, Brains chain should count themselves very lucky to have such a dedicated team working for them as this is definitely a very big plus for this pub and one of the reasons would be happy to book again if ever back in the area :)

I will ensure that your comments are passed on to them. We have worked very hard to ensure that we are protecting both the team and our guests in regards to social distancing and again thank you for your comment regarding this. It certainly is not easy at the moment! Hopefully next year we will be having a spruce up of our hotel to address the points that you have raised for which we are very excited about.
