The Gower Hotel sits just back from Saundersfoot vibrant centre - the ideal spot to escape for a touch of peace and quiet, yet close enough to step right into the life of the resort.Comfort and Quality are the key notes of the decor, a theme which extends to each of our 20 en-suite rooms, some of which have balconies and some of which enjoy views across the bay. We have a choice of twin, double and family rooms, all equipped with tea and coffee facilities, colour TV, telephone. A secure, off-street car park is behind the hotel. We're a hands-on business, so the staff at the Gower share the enthusiasm for understanding the value of a first class standard of service, and we're always ready to be flexible in our arrangements for group visits, small conferences or business meetings. All are welcome!

I'll start with the good things - very close to town (two minute walk), free parking at rear of property, seating area outside to sit and have a drink, large airy breakfast room. Now for the negatives - "welcome" was your room is ready and keys are in the door, we had booked a double deluxe room- not sure what makes it deluxe, no fridge, no ironing board, no bottle of water in the room, no welcome pack - we know the area very well but a stranger wouldn't know where to visit locally, no fire exit information, the blinds may as well not be up as curled inwards all the links were broken and were very dirty especially along the bottom. There was a small stain on the bedding. Woken in the night by a really loud banging noise and couldn't work out where it was coming from and stopped after about 15 minutes. Be aware of traffic noise as main thoroughfare goes passed hotel which quietens down as the night goes on. For me it was very impersonal didn't even get to say hello to the owner on arrival or departure. Breakfast was satisfactory although a delivery arrived in the middle of breakfast and was taken through dining room while we were eating- surely this could have been left somewhere else until breakfast was over. Sadly we would not stay here again which is a shame as the location is great just no interaction with anyone and rooms need updating and made deluxe if you're charging £100 a night.

We booked this hotel on booking.com. We arrived at the hotel on a Friday afternoon. We were welcomed by Alex. Our room was ready so we were given the room keys. We were welcomed by a very clean and spacious room. Excellent view of the sea. Bathroom was clean and there were fresh towels. Kettle, tea, coffee, sugar and a selection of biscuits was supplied. A hairdryer was provided and a television was mounted on the wall. The windows opened sufficiently and the bed linen was white. The decor was very homely with a few pictures of Pembrokeshire gems. We both enjoyed a meal in the restaurant on the Friday evening, plenty to choose from and the staff were polite and professional. The hotel offers a bar, inside and outside dining, a carpark available if needed. We parked our car there. We would definitely recommend this hotel, the location is great. Staff are very friendly and although we did not have any problems , I’m sure if there was it would if bern seen to. Fabulous breakfast included in the price. Great hotel, good food and very helpful staff.

They say first impressions count. So not that good a start. The Hotel is on a road just off the Seafront. It looked like a seaside Pub with drinkers out front. We were a bit worried as we couldn’t see the entrance to the Car Park. I went into Reception which was unmanned and after about 2-3 minutes someone gave me directions to the Car Park-which is not that easy to find. As you walk out the front door turn left, drive 200 yds and turn left at the Crossroads. About 200 yds on left there’s a black and white marker and turn immediate left down an unmade road. Car Park is 190 yds on left. Space for 15-16 cars and entrance is via the rear door. You enter on floor 1 - of 3 floors. Reaction is on the Ground floor. We booked dinner - earliest offered was 20.00. Not fully booked as it happened- they were short staffed and could only manage a restricted number. Strongly advise eating in as there is limited Restaurant/ Eateries in Saundersfoot- which is disappointing, especially as we had been to Tenby earlier. The Restaurant meal was good with a reasonable menu. The staff were friendly and service was good. We retired to the bar for a nightcap and got chatting to fellow guests who all liked the Hotel and staff Breakfast arrangements were odd. Due to Covid each floor was allocated a time slot. We were on the 2nd floor and had 08.45-09.10. Again not many in the Restaurant due to staff shortage. It was table service and the food was good. The room was adequate and a reasonable size. Our room was at the rear so pretty quiet.

Booked a weekend stay and had to cancel at very short notice. They have offered us alternate dates, understanding and thoughtful. Communications were spot on and always very reassuring. Very much looking forward to early 2022. All hotels should operate like this, thank you.

Firstly the good points, the first person I was greeted by who directed me to the car park was very friendly and told me where our room was via the rear entrance, the location of the property is great, we had arrived some hours earlier and spent the day on the beach as the weather was glorious..I use the word “property” because I’m not sure what defines a “Hotel” but this establishment in our opinion was more like B&B.. the room we were allocated was at the rear which probably made it quieter with regards to the road noise but it was on the corner parallel to the path that accessed the car park via a very loose wooden decking walkway.. with a window which had been covered with privacy screen and also a set of french doors no privacy which couldn’t open so we couldn’t get any air circulation in the room. The bathroom had a mild urine smell to it wasn’t as clean as it should be in the current situation and the extraction fan ( no window in this room ) was inexcusably filthy.. The room had two single beds pushed together to create a huge bed but in doing so there’s left a tiny strip to walk down, a normal size bed would make more sense. We had originally tried to book for 3 nights but only 2 were available I’m sorry to say we were relieved to be checking out. The breakfast was nice but but I think you should warn guests that they are given a set breakfast time as we are early risers. I appreciate that everyone is struggling in the current situation as I’ve worked through it myself but when you are providing a service then standards need to be kept, I do think we got unlucky with room 16 but then I suppose someone has to stay in that room, unfortunately we tend to get bad luck repeatedly when trying to get a “quiet few days away”
