Stayed here for 2 nights bed and breakfast. Independent hotel which we prefer. Great location. Lovely rooms and breakfast was very good quality and included in price. We had dinner one evening and a few drinks from the bar. Every member of staff provided excellent customer service. Place was spotless. Room more than adequate and shower had great pressure. This is a small family run hotel and you can see the pride themselves on quality service even drove with to a cheap nearby car park. Rooms were very warm due to current weather so maybe leaving a spare sheet would be good. Nice wee garden area at the back and a few tables out front. Tried the local gin and beer and were lovely. Would highly recommend this for a short stay in Stirling you won’t find better quality and value for that price

Best place in Stirling, hands down! I’m there once a month for work and always try to book here, it annoys me when they are booked out. Rooms are great, staff fantastic and the breakfast is one of the best. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Stirling

Disappointed to find this hotel was in the process of scaffolding, decorating and builders skips when we arrived and in my opinion it should not have been rented out while this work was in progress. The entrance was cluttered with workmen's materials, dustsheets etc and plaster dust on the staircase handrails. There were also items of furniture stacked outside the entrance to our apartment. We complained about this and were offered a discount, but this was only if we agreed to forfeit the breakfast we had already prepaid, which we reluctantly accepted. On the second day, some cereal and porridge was left in the apartment.

I wanted to treat my wife to a nice night away for our anniversary and this hotel stood out due to its positive reviews and the fact that it's a private business, as opposed to a faceless chain. Check in was fine and at first glance, the room looked clean, tidy and functional, however, we soon encountered a problem...the toilet hadn't been cleaned / flushed after the last person and there was traces of number two in the pan. We decided to gloss over that, flushed the toilet and happily, all traces of the previous occupant's excretus was removed. We went out for a meal and a few drinks but as the current Covid restrictions mean that bars and restaurants close early, we decided to go back to the room to relax watch and some TV with a bottle of wine. That was when we encountered our second problem...the TV didn't work. I immediately reported this to the person at reception and was told that the "TV cables in that room don't work properly" and that it was due to be fixed on Monday. I asked of anything could be done i.e. move us to a different room but was told this wasn't possible, so I asked to speak to a manager. I explained the problem to the manager and was told the same thing. I asked why I wasn't told in advance and why they found it fit to charge full price for the room. She shrugged her shoulders and said "it works intermittently and worked this morning when we cleaned the room". I made the point that this was of little comfort and again asked if I could be given a different room. She said that wasn't possible because the hotel was full but said she'd come to the room and check the TV but I was made to feel that this was an inconvenience to her and as she walked away she shook her head. I challenged her on this and she denied it but I know what I saw. As we walked up the stairs to the room, I asked her to consider how this would feel to her and she flippantly remarked that ot wouldn't bother her because she doesn't watch TV! I couldn't believe what I was hearing. She got to the room and fiddled with the controls but wasn't able to fix it. At this point, I stated that I wanted a full refund and she said she'd speak to the owner. A few minutes later, she phoned the room and said the owner had agreed, so I claimed the refund and left. I then went around the corner to the Travelodge and paid 2/3 of the cost for a clean and tidy room with a working TV, clean toilet and free parking. I totally understand that things sometimes don't work but when it's a known problem, the customer should be made aware in advance and given the option to go ahead with the reservation or some money should be deducted from the bill. Neither of these things happened and to add insult to injury, I was made to feel like I'd caused the problem. I'll stick with the tried and tested faceless chains in the future.
