Went to this centre for a three day team session but everyone decided to leave and go to another conference venue after the first night. The place is not being maintained as the rooms smell of damp and the toilets in the rooms run continuously which is not only noisy but a waste of water. The projector in the conference room had to be replaced three times in one day.

I would definitely recommend Alpha Conference Centre to business men, organizations or just the average weekender passing through the Magalies range through Hartebeespoort dam, the staff are always friendly if you have a problem and ask for assistance it is always given with a smile and your problem sorted as soon as possible. The food though not a wide selection (like with every hotel or conference centre) is always made fresh and leaves you always satisfied with even more friendly service they even go out of the way to make meals for people with intolerance's to certain food products as in the case of a lady in our group with gluten intolerance and another gentlemen with pork allergies. The rooms are always kept neat and tidy with staff always visible bathrooms kept clean and sanitary with sanitary bins for the fairer of our group. This is the ideal venue for conferences, team building and much more with the lion park situated right next door.

Badly managed. We were a contingent of about 45 delegates attending a company Bosberaad. Nobody had a properly functioning bathroom. Leaking toilets and none of the hand showers could convert to the bath taps. Guests allowed to play loud music till 03:00 in the morning. Bath towels old and full of holes. Bath mats look like floor rags. Lunch not ready as per the pre arranged time on our first day. Was 45 minutes late. Morning coffee in conference room was served every morning without milk.

If you want a captive audience this is the place to come. It is so far out of town your participants will have to listen to everything you say. The Alpha Conference Centre about an hour out of Joburg is situated near mountains and insulated from its neighbours by vegetation. The rooms are a bit odd with fully glassed sides forcing you to keep the curtains drawn if you want privacy that makes them gloomy even in the day. They are decently clean and the bathroom is well kept. There is a pool to cool off in and a bar that opens in the evening. The restaurant serves decent food but it can become repetitive over a period. There is plenty of open space to walk around and admire the views from morning to night. Wifi is claimed but is painfully slow and works only in some spots. Recommended for a conference or a shortish leisure break.
