Stayed for one night. Check in was fine- staff lovely and friendly. Hotel in a good location. However room we had was shabby- lots of stains on carpet. Mold around windows. Found bed really uncomfortable and stained mattress ( no mattress protector) Room overlooked Main Street opposite a night club. Weather was warm so had window open so we could sleep. Lots of noise until early hours so didn’t get much sleep. Paid extra for breakfast which you had to order night before……..very disappointing and not worth the £8-50 we each paid. Unfortunately this was the only hotel available - needs improvements as it’s in a really great location. However we won’t be returning…………..

Not a pleasant stay at all. Room was very grotty with carpet fraying, stains on pillow cases, hairs in sink and dirty toilet. Beds need replacing and are no good if you are taller than 5ft. Our room backed onto a very noisy street and we were woken up at half 2 in the morning with drunk people shouting on the street! Quite expensive as well, save your money and go to a premier inn

Stayed here about 3 years ago and unfortunately we were shocked by the drop in standard since then. I understand that updating decor and facilities is expensive but the cleanliness of the room and the attitude of the staff was very poor and something that could be improved cheaply and easily. Our room was full of cobwebs and sweet wrappers from the previous occupants. The staff were surly. I would have expected better after a tough few months due to COVID and now more competition for accommodation in Whitley Bay.

We stayed at this hotel 10th July 2021. It is very basic and needs a lot of work doing to it, but our room was clean and my daughter in law had a big family room which too was very clean and fulfilled her needs. The young lady on reception was friendly and brightened the place. We did not have breakfast so cannot comment on this For the price we paid it was fine.

We stayed here for a couple of days last weekend. As you walk through the hotel you can see it needs some money sending on it with thread bare carpets in places. The location is good (although surrounded buildings also quite run down), a few minutes walk to the beach. Breakfast was expensive for what you got and kids were charged the same as adults. It was very chaotic, order was incorrect and quality wasn’t great (possible getting used to changes from buffet breakfast due to Covid). I recommend taking a five minute walk to the beefeater - adult breakfast is 50p more than the hotel, but kids eat free with a paying adult and quality is 100 times better!
