Linthwaite House and Henrock Restaurant were both outstanding in all respects. Linthwaite House is exquisite and the walks through its lovely gardens were an added treat. Beautiful and comfortable bedroom with view of Windermere, relaxing bar area and attentive personal service from all the staff encountered during our special weekend. Breakfasts and dinners at Henrock were both excellent. Cod’s Roe and English muffins for breakfast and a stunning smoked eel dish were particular standouts for me. Nothing to dislike about Linthwaite whatsoever. We hope to be back!

£250 a night for a room that was too small to have a chair in, asked reception if chairs were not standard in a "classic room" and a chair was delivered whilst we were out in Bowness. Good service perhaps, BUT the chair small as it was restricted getting out of the bed. Is it too much to ask that you can sit on a chair in a room rather than on the bed? These classic rooms (no 6) are far too small, TV mounted on the wall due to lack of space for a suitable dressing table. desk or any other flat surface. Premier Inn rooms are better in this regard I must say though that the rooms are very well equipted with all you need and the bathroom was lovely with all items you that may require. The mini bar fridge also quite good though it makes me wonder why the milk inside for the tea and coffee was sour! The Henrock restaurant was very good though, I feel the menu needs rewording, some of the descriptions are off putting Drinks service was slow, food service fine, staff all good and pleasant Account delivered first thing under the door, incuding my pet hate service charge, this was for the bar and restaurant, a service charge on a very expensive drinks and food price is not accepable in my view, no mention of this additional charge is on the menus. (gratuities extra over again to the s/c) this service charge was removed from the bill on my request ,so watch for it. All in all apart from the very small room all was good, however for the price will not be going back, try the Cragwood

Had a wonderful weekend and the food was great. Enjoyed the evening meal both nights. The hotel is dog friendly but only in the guests room. We had room 31 which has its own entrance to the room from outside. The hotel also has beautiful gardens and views.

I've just returned home following a wonderful lunch with a friend at Linthwaite House. What a lovely place. Great location, excellent service & food. Absolutely all the staff were delightful..... from the lovely gentleman in the carpark who helped me park the car to the waiters, waitresses & reception staff. Everyone was super friendly, efficient & nothing too much trouble. What a lovely way to spend a dreary November afternoon. I will definitely be back. Thank you Linthwaite House.

We have just spent two nights here and were told by staff that this was our seventh visit. Like most establishments they have suffered during the pandemic and are now short staffed which has forced them to only open for 5 days each week. However you would not know this. Standards remain high everywhere in the hotel and the beautiful grounds. The staff are all cheerful, helpful and professional and I give special thanks to Receptionists Adele, Jasmine and Michael in the Restaurant, Henrock. I can’t wait to return …
