Travellers' Choice
We are an independent, family-run hotel renowned for excellent hospitality and quality products. Our location is on The Esplanade so perfect for the sandy beach and the town centre that is behind the hotel. We offer the option of Continental Breakfast between 8am and 10am which includes award-winning breads, fresh juices, pastries baked every morning, yoghurts, cereals, fresh fruit and accompanied with Barista Coffee or Dorset Tea. There are many attractions along the Jurassic Coast easily accessible from Weymouth so The Alexandra is a great place to base yourself. We also have parking permits for Zone F close to the hotel for on-street parking for free. Both the car park and permits are subject to availability. There is a large Council-run car park called The Pavilion that is free between 6pm and 8am and is very close to the Alexandra. We have recently opened Postcards Cafe Bar where you can enjoy your favourite drink or enjoy Barista Coffee with cake and sit out on our sea-facing terrace.

Hotel is in a great location close to town & sea front overall the hotel was clean with all the staff pleasant & friendly however the room was very tired with decor, room door & plug socket in a sorry state. Shower was very slow & change temperature a lot. We had to park in the nearby pavilion car park as the limited parking spaces were taken.

Alexandra Hotel is perfectly located and you’ll have everything in walking distance. (Restaurants , McDonald’s, Tesco and beautiful Weymouth beach) Great hospitality and customer service, everyone’s so friendly and helpful. Chap in his 60s was a real charmer.

Poor service constantly ignored and lied to about not receiving a request for lactose free milk. For £115 a night it is an expensive dorm type room. Walls are very thin on the top floor and no sleep was had for 2 nights stay out of the 5 booked finding it too uncomfortable to say any longer. Additionally the bed is too small for anyone that is taller than 5,9 as the bed had a footwell, also the room is on a heavy slope so needed to prop up the bed. Regardless we left early and almost a month later the hotel will not refund for the 3 nights stay we did not use. Despite numerous complaints and promise of calls back nothing happened. We are still waiting a refund. I recommend anywhere but here. I have stayed in many locations across the world and this by far the worst experience I've had away in over 20 years.

Great small seafront hotel with friendly and helpful staff who were quick and helpful in answering my questions before we arrived too. We stayed in a queen size room with Seaview and it was great. Room was big with ensure and rainfall shower. Large flat screen TV with tea/coffee facilities and bottled water. Room was refreshed/cleaned daily and the view out to see was good. Despite central location it was quiet at night. Only downside was parking. This is either on street parking or at Pavillion car park. There were no parking permits avalible when we stayed (in use by other guests) so it was a little bit of a hassle but it in no way would put us off staying again and you can work around it. Car park is 5 min walk max. The hotel had a bar and if you book direct do a continental breakfast. We didn't use either due to plans we already had but the always seemed busy with guests. We would 100% stay again and reccomend to others.
