This is the third or fourth time I have stayed at this hotel. It is easy to access by car driving into Newcastle and is only a short stroll from the river and bars, that it overlooks. I love the view from the hotel's reception and bar area. There is parking under the hotel that is reasonably priced, which is a massive bonus for a city centre hotel, in my opinion. It is one of the reasons I chose to stay on my first visit. Breakfast was good too. There was fruit, yogurt and cereals available in addition to a hot buffet. There were dairy free alternatives to milk proudly on display by the coffee machines. Pastries and muffins were available too. The views were great. Hilton seem to have some sort of magic formula for hiring staff. The check-in was swift and pleasant and I was greeted warmly at breakfast. Helena on reception was both helpful and charismatically friendly. I hope she got to London. The beds are very comfy and even when rooms are located near to the road remain quiet. The curtains work well to block out sunlight, not that it is much of a problem this time of year! Hilton do not offer the same range of on-demand movies etc that they once did. Perhaps this makes sense, since everyone has a phone or laptop and a Netflix subscription these days. Just don't forget to bring them. Slightly more modern rooms would have USB points or sockets nearer the bed. The executive lounge was a useful addition to the trip. It boasts nice views and is a good place to catch up on some work in the company of others and grab a coffee or soft drink in. The evening nibbles were very civilised and much appreciated. I will definitely stay in this hotel again when visiting Newcastle and I am glad that it is part of the Hilton portfolio (I also really like the tall Glasgow Hilton and Docklands, London, for its novel location).

Hotel's Favourite
Room was ample, had a great view and was impeccably clean. Comfortable bed and very reliable WIFI for those who have to work or just want to watch Netflix on their laptop. Staff very professional and polite. Easy, convenient parking although I found it a little bit pricey. Fine location, just a short-ish walk to the city centre and 10 mins to the nearest Metro station. I would politely suggest the management TO ADD PLUGS in the room though! There were 3 up for grab (guess I could have found more behind the TV cabinet but I could not bother) and all of them far away from the bed. In 2021 this is probably something that needs to be rectified, especially in such a luxurious property. Apart from that I will surely be staying here again if I'll happen to be in Newcastle.

We stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of August in a Standard room with 1 double bed. We paid £226.95 and breakfast was included each morning. Our room overlooked the high level bridge. Check in is from 3pm and check out is before noon. Breakfast is served between 06:30 to 10:30 Monday - Friday and between 07:00 - 11:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. Breakfast had a variety of pastries, cooked food, juices and more. Staff came around offering diners some banana bread which was a nice touch, the banana bread was tasty. The kitchen team served some really nice vegetarian sausages too. Staff were friendly and the hotel lobby and bar area looked modern. The bar do a really nice pina colada, this is our favourite cocktail and we were pleased with the taste of it, it was nice and creamy. The hotel had a really nice smell in the lobby area, we weren't sure which scent this was but it always caught our attention. I ended up ordering room service one night as my partner was too ill to eat at the restaurant we had booked. I had halloumi fries served with beetroot tzatziki and pomegranate molasses, this cost £8 and was a 'small plate' dish. To drink, I had a pina colada (£9) and a passion star martini (£9.50) The bathroom was rather unattractive and clinical looking, white and black tiles. The only negative I can think of is that the room wasn't 100% clean, there was a dusty counter. We would stay at this hotel again.

My wife booked this executive room surprise for my 60th birthday treat , shocked at the state of the room , dirty stained carpet and what looked like dried semen stain on the chaise longe . Not a birthday drink or anything ! My wife rang duty manager to complain , she brought 2 complimentary drinks vouchers to try and make up for disgraceful room and no treat ! Also sent an empty ice bucket with ice so we had to supply our own drink ? The room was a disgrace so we asked to be moved , one floor up a bit cleaner and brighter, Unpacked, felt better untill my wife lifted the toilet lid and found droplets of piss stains that had not been cleaned what a disgrace ! Shocking experience ,never again . Why does management never reply to reviews on tripadvisor ? What a disgrace !! No interest in guests ,only taking their money and giving a shocking service .

Room very hot, unable to lower the temperature. Asked reception for assistance and waited 70 mins. The staff who attended had no clue how to lower it either and said she would speak to maintenance... checked out today and no sign of maintenance. Infact the whole hotel was like a furnace and very uncomfortable. The only difference between this hotel and a budget hotel was the cost.
