Least comfortable hotel we have stayed at this century. We were here during a heat wave and while I understood that air conditioning wasn’t included I didn’t expect almost zero ventilation. The window opened about 1” and no bath fan or anything else had us sleeping on top of the beds in a pool of sweat. Sort of like a WW2 submarine in the South Pacific. Even a $30 fan would have given us the illusion we were not using up the oxygen. Thumbs down on this place
A clean, well presented hotel with friendly staff and good service. Food and drink was good quality and the rooms were clean and well presented. This was just a short two night stay but I would happily book here again
It's one thing to be greeted in reception by a man with a beard wearing a wedding dress. Stag do is the immediate assumption. However, finding middle aged, rather sad looking individuals drinking cheap lager in the same reception area and with a police presence is bit more disturbing. It soon became clear that this hotel specialises in providing accommodation for all and sundry and whilst this is undeniably a great social service, it isn't quite what you expect when you book. At the end of the exercise, you had to say that, at the price we paid, we still received value for money but I do think the hotel needs to decide whether it wants to be a hotel or a half way house. At least we weren't bored!
Brilliant location clean rooms staff really friendly! Easy quick check in an out rooms spacious an cleaned daily really happy with our 2 day staff price was amazing for location could walk everywhere if needed.
On arrival for a corporate booking I was greeted by the odour of tobacco and cannabis outside the main reception doors by a good handful of people enjoying their smokes. Checking in was fast and efficient, however was interrupted by loud shouting eminating from the lifts by some very drunk individuals following swiftly by an apology from the hotel team saying "It isn't always like this". The room was overall very clean and tidy, however it was uncomfortably warm and whilst I appreciate having an iron and board available, a fan would have been much more appropriate given the climate that the UK is experiencing at the moment - I did ask for one, and this was eventually provided. Breakfast was an assortment of continental and cooked, however the overall quality left a lot to be desired and between my colleague and I a decision was swiftly made that we would forgo the evening meal at the hotel and decided to venture across the millenium bridge to find a more suitable establishment. The WiFi is free, however is not suitable for business use as I struggled to see a powerpoint presentation being delivered over teams as well as struggling to complete an online form later in the evening. Very disappointing and leaves me wondering whether I should choose Wyndham when I travel to Canada.…
Very hot room with unpleasant odour and no ventilation, poor water pressure in shower, TV remote didn't work, limited breakfast options for vegetarians. Hotel location has poor access due to building work taking place in the area which also creates lots of noise early in the morning. Majority of staff very friendly.
Nice looking hotel but the room was uncomfortably hot and there was faeces on the sofa bed - it was cleaned when pointed out but overall extremely disappointing. No apology offered. Would not recommend
Had a nice stay midweek Tues - Friday. Clean room. Room was hot but it was 6th floor room and a heatwave - we did get supplied with a fan. Very good quality breakfast with Carol in restaurant a star. We also had two evening meals. Great value at £15 for 2 courses and really pleased with the quality and service from the guys both nights. Workman from construction site come in for breakfast daily but not an issue for us. There did seem to be a couple of guests who liked to sit outside smoking and drinking all day and possibly smoking more than cigarettes - they were loud in bar area at night too. Good location for crossing over to Quayside and be even better when the redevelopment beside hotel is finished.
Lovely clean hotel great helpful staff. Lovely breakfast with great quality bacon and sausage etc and all food was hot. For a stay near to newcastle it was brilliant. Arrived late but bar still open so all good👍
This hotel is mainly used for contractors and people waiting to be housed by the council. Food is awful, some rooms noisy. The only good thing is the staff are very helpful. Booked breakfast for 1st morning there and was not down on list for breakfast, ; lack of communication. You need to be careful if you run a tab whilst staying as they tried to charge me twice for same drinks. Would recommend pay as you go in hotel. Had change of room while we were they, came back in afternoon to find room had not been cleaned, lack of communication again between reception and housekeeping. I will say that this was done quckly, only good point. They even tried to charge me extra on leaving to what l had already paid for accomodation and parking. Claimed Booking.com had made a mistake.
