We stayed one night on November 11th. We were taken aback by the filthy foyer on the ground floor access to the rooms. Frankly, if we weren' t so tired, added to the thought of finding another hotel for the night, (,,plus we had already paid in advance) we would have left there and then without even getting near the rooms. As it happens ,the room itself had obviously been refurbished and was clean except the chambermaid hadn't removed a pair of socks in the coats hanging area left by a previous guest. We can understand if the cleaner hadn't wanted to touch these, but surely could have worn gloves in current circumstances or used tongs.... No staff were in evidence that evening to deal with this. Have the hotel management never heard of the importance of ' first impressions' ? This is the first visit to the hotel chain and wouldn't stay in a Travelodge again unless some attention is paid to inexcusable horrors such as the lobby at Kinross. The area concerned was only a few sq.yds , so the cost of renewing a bit of flooring is minimal. I hope you will take this on board. Yours sincerely Moira Ross.

Our room (12) on the ground floor had that acidy smell of old vomit, masked with air freshener. There was a pubic hair in the bath, and strange brown stains on the curtains. The window was not open to allow for airing. The carpet on the ground floor hallway leading to the bedrooms is filthy and crumpled. Overall the furnishings are battered and old. The nice woman on reception moved us to room 13, across the corridor from 12. We were relived that this room did not have the vomit smell. It did have strange white stains at the bottom of the bed; and more stains on the curtains; but our daughter (and us) were really tired, so we just went to sleep for the night (beds not as comfy as Premier Inn); and got ourselves home the next day for a big wash and "urrgh, shudder" at the state of where we had stayed the night before. I do not understand how this place gets such good ratings, other than the Travelodge own site sends and automated email asking for feedback once you have stayed.. when I did this and tried to submit my one star review to tripadvisor via the Travelodge link, it strangely crashed and didn't go through. The staff were nice and did what they could to help, but the place itself is disgusting, and who on earth thought that masking pukey smells with air freshener was okay? Don't look too closely for stains if you want to sleep easy :-(

We needed a disabled and dog friendly stop over location for our journey up to Aberdeen and this Travelodge ticked the boxes. Very friendly staff and far enough away from the motorway for us not to be hugely bothered by traffic noise. The only downside was a dodgy fire alarm, which first woke us at 4.30am & then again at 7.30am - add to that the usual early starts from other guests & we didn't get a good night's sleep. False alarms thankfully, but interrupted sleep is not what you want on a long journey.

Such a relief to stay in this hotel with fantastic staff, having stayed in another Travelodge(which was nothing on this one in all aspects) for a few days. What a difference, the staff in this hotel are all fantastic, so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. They could show staff in other locations how it should be done. Every member of staff makes you feel welcome, comfortable and at home. Marcelle, Isabelle and Helen on reception, along with Dawn, Betty and the rest of the staff are a credit to the company and should be complemented. I would never stay in any other hotel again.

Clean and comfortable hotel. Staff friendly. Rebooked this hotel is there is so much in the area to see and do in the area. Stirling is well worth a visit as in Loch Leven Larder. Been here before which is why we booked it again
