Beautiful, very comfortable room. especially the bed! I had one of my best night’s sleep in a long time. The restaurant staff were very friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful! I opted for the “ Meal Deal” which was excellent value. I had a most relaxing stay and I look forward to staying here again!

Great food & service, the room was squeaky-clean with excellent facilities, and great location. The staff were very nice and accommodating. The evening meal was delicious and the premier inn breakfast was as it always is: ....fantastic! The beer is reasonably priced & since I’m a Guinness drinker who regularly stays in Ireland I was impressed with how well it was poured! Overall we enjoyed our stay here immensely & would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

The accessible room we were given was adequate for the 1 night we were staying, but sadly not the one shown when we looked online and rang to book.
The king size bed had been changed for a standard size double, so do check with the hotel directly and do not listen to the central booking representative it seemed to me that he said whatever he thought I wanted to hear.
The requested wet room was in fact a room with a bath tub, there were lots of rails but sadly I am unable to use these so no shower for me at all as I cannot get into even a lowered tub, but for 1 night a wash at the sink sufficed.
Dinner was average if I am brutally honest, we ate at the pub next door.
The deep fried mushrooms came with a tangy bbq sauce and were good.
I would however recommend not ordering the meat lasagne if you expect more than about a tablespoon of actual meat in the whole portion. It was made up of 4 layers of pasta, a cheap ingredient, a thinned tomato sauce and tepid bechamel which sandwiched 2 of the pasta layers.
the garlic bread and side salad were nice.
We left too early 7am on the Sunday morning to even have breakfast as it is served later on a weekend, starting at 7am. there is no Costa at this location so we could not even get something to go from this location.

I tried twice to book a double room at this hotel for myself and my daughter, several weeks hence. The first time the website reported a problem and would not accept the booking. The second time I tried, a couple of weeks later, although a twin room was an option, after I selected this from the menu the next screen repeatedly specified a double room. I decided to book by phone, and after about five minutes of automated menus was put through to the ‘national booking team’. Then on hold for about 15 minutes, ‘musak’ interspersed with repetitive messages including, yes you have guessed, visit our website and book on line. I gave up wasting money on my phone bill and found a nearby guest house where my call was answered straight away and a twin room booked with no fuss at all in about two minutes. Come on Premier, apart from losing my business, you have wasted nearly an hour of my time....which I am not going to get back......if you must insist on online booking systems you need to make sure that they actually work, and that you have enough staff on to answer the phone when they don’t!!!

This is the second time we have stayed here and could not fault anything. We booked for 2 nights this time and arrived on Saturday morning, we were early for check in but the lovely lady on reception checked the room and told us we could check in as soon as it was ready and offered to come through to the ajoining bar and let us know when its ready. We were given the biggest room (no9) it was so spacious and very clean. We were visiting family in the area so were back and forth to the hotel throughout the 2 days so the kids could rest, it was very quiet so ideal for families. We could not fault the staff we encountered The lady on reception ( didnt catch her name unfortunately) was the same on both days and she was so friendly and lovely towards the children, the only other staff member we saw was the cleaner who was also lovely and friendly to us all. We will be booking here again for our next visit in the summer and would definitely recommend this hotel.

Our room was cold when we arrived at 8 pm with our two children. I left it set to the on position the following day so it would be warm when we got in later but it was cold again. The room temperature seems to be a recurring theme on trip advisor.
The evening receptionist on checking in was efficient but not friendly (no warm Cumbrian welcome) and when we arrived back at the hotel each day staff didn’t even lift their heads to say hello.
Breakfast was lukewarm but had a good variety. The children enjoyed it and they eat free with a paying adult.
Would I stay again? Probably not if I could find an alternative.

Bathroom with Level Deck Shower area gave more room for the wheelchair user, more handy than climbing into the bath. I would highly recommend this room type for the ambulent wheelchair user.
We will definately be back for further visits

This hotel does NOT have plug sockets next to the bed. Only USB.
I have read that you need only ask reception for an extension lead and one will be provided. Not so.
Went to reception and they simply don't have one and my only option is to put a mattress on the floor next to the front door of the room.
Who at Premier Inn Corporate decided to take away a standard socket? Not someone who has any knowledge that people may have a medical requirement to sleep with a ventilation machine.
Very disappointed.

Our room was ground floor of the annexe. We could hear every footstep from on the stairs and the room above. The 1st morning the room above were stomping around from 0500 till 0600. The rooms were very warm with no air on and the window didn't open very far.
There were lots of cob webs in the corners of the room and lots of dust on skirting boards.
Check in was good, check out was fast - just put the key card in a box.
The hotel was easy to find and a great location for our needs.
Unfortunately we didn't sleep very well due to noise from other guests and the design of the annexe. It wasn't as clean as we would expect from a hotel.
For these 2 reasons we won't be staying there again.

Response from Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, Other at Premier Inn Carlisle Central hotel
Responded 2 Aug 2021
Hello Tim, Thank you for reviewing your recent stay with us. We’re very sorry that you had a disappointing stay with us recently due to noise from other guests, the cleanliness of your room and the hot temperature of your room, which caused an uncomfortable sleep. This certainly isn't the experience we would expect for our guests when staying. Sadly, not all of our hotels include air conditioning. In hotels which don't, our teams do try to make rooms more comfortable by providing fans and thinner sheets. We apologise if this did not help during your stay. If air conditioning is important when staying with us, we would suggest looking out for air conditioning as a listed facility on the hotel's page on our website before booking. We’ve ensured this feedback has been logged to the Hotel Management team so that they can look into these issues with the team to try and prevent this experience from being repeated again in the future. In future, our Reception team are on hand 24/7 and so we would advise speaking with the team as soon as any issues arise to help resolve this whilst you're still in-house. Thank you for taking the time to contact us and we hope we can welcome you for a more enjoyable stay in the future. Kind regards, Lauren

ove staying at Premier inn, beats camping any day!
Not keen on the attached eateries, Brewers Fayre is not great food by any stretch of the imagination, and it’s definitely not cost effective! I would recommend folk go find yourselves the nearest JD Wetherspoon pub, much nicer food n drink at very reasonable prices!
The only niggle I have I’d that our room was next door to the Lift. And boy was it noisy, yes it was. Obviously well used during the hours of darkness, all night! grrrrrrrrr!!!! We stayed for two nights, and both nights we were frequently disturbed by the noise of lift in use.
Next time we stay I shall request to be as far away from the offending thing as possible.
