Waited 10 minutes for receptionist to get off phone so I could check. Unacceptable! You are either taking care of hotel guests, or taking phone calls, not both! My so-called suite was 2 bedrooms knocked into one with the sitting and dining room very dark, and all windows single glazed facing the M1. Nice!

Terrible place, would not return, on arrival there was a huge Christmas party taking place I was informed the bar and restaurant were not available, I think I should of been told this prior my arrival as there is nothing close by to get any food. The party was very noisy and as my room was on the ground floor I heard all the drunken loud guests leaving until 1am in the morning. The room was freezing we ended up sleeping in the rough bathrobes; slept in one bed with two duvets, this was supposed to be a upgraded room, the electric heater on the wall didn’t work and the small air conditioning heating system heated the small patch below it. There was tea stains up the wall on the ceiling; mould on the window sills, holes in the bed linen, blood stains on the curtains; cob webs and to top it all a dead spider in the bed; the carpets were stained and grubby and the office chair should of been binned years ago. This was not a cheap hotel so was very disappointed; the staff were not hugely attentive but were polite. The buffet breakfast was ok plenty of food but was shocked given we are in the middle of a pandemic, not much single use items like marmalade jams etc from a shared bowl and teabags loose in a basket, shared serving spoons; no one way system or reduced activity at the food counter; the tables were not cleared or cleaned promptly so again you felt you were in a grubby greasy spoons. I would certainly not recommend this accommodation; we were left a note in our room to be rest assured that the cleanliness of the room met their standard and was cleaned with hospital disinfectant; well clearly their standard is sadly very poor.

Good access from the motorway but never the easiest to find. Nothing nearby to walk to. Large free car park. Reception, bar and restaurant modern. Rooms are very dated with poor lighting. Rooms are comfortable and large, shows is good Shampoo/gel all empty Dinner and breakfast good, accept all the bread was cheap and hard where left uncovered. Staff were good all round Modern downstairs rooms old and dated Shower good Breakfast good except all bread stale where left out

Positives: Lovely atmosphere, staff were excellent with customer servicing, food was lovely (sweet potato fries) and it was a great place to meet with friends and a great place for a short stay. Hairdryer was very good, hot water, beds were very comfortable and the tv worked. There is a ramp at the entrance too Negatives: I had a wheelchair accessible room on the ground floor which still was not wide enough to get my chair through due to the 2 beds. The signal was horrendous and there was no wifi even though i tried to connect it via the hotel internet. The bathroom was an ideal size but really needed deep cleaning on the floors, sink taps, mirror, doir handles and walls and shower curtain as there was specks of blood on it. Some of the room accessories were broken. The radiator has wires sticking out and the middle lamp did not work. The red safety lead was wrapped around the middle lamp which was in difficult reach to use if required in an emergency. The room was very dusty and i have a dust mite allergy so i was affected quite badly. I wouldve rang the housekeeping service but the phone did not work at all. The doors themselves were terribly heavy too ! There was no plug sockets near the bedside so again this should be considered in s wheelchair accessible room as people may not be able to get up! I would like revisit here again and do another review to see if improvements have been made!

Grubby, no hotel key cards working so had to wait each time you wanted to get in and out of room. To top it all, went to the pool. It was empty. Was told I had to book in advance! Went to room. Called leisure centre to book in advance. Phone just rings and rings and rings. Don’t bother.
