Lovely hotel in a beautiful town. Comfortable attractive rooms. Great food and service. Room was spacious and beautifully decorated the bathroom was big and clean but could do with an update. The dining room also could be better arranged decoratively

We had a fantastic stay at The William Cecil. The staff were excellent and the rooms are a great standard. Breakfast was 10/10 - would highly recommend staying here. The hotel offers free parking and is a short 5-10 minute walk in to the town centre.

The service at the William Cecil was outstanding. Our Reunion Dinner in the Bennet Room was excellent and the location of the Hotel made walks in Burghley Park and into the town very easy and enjoyable.

Reasonably expensive room (room 18 "Bacchus" part of their Chic range of rooms which was grubby with cobwebs, peeling paint and ground-in dirt on the carpet. Cobwebs dealt with after complaining. Mattress firm but comfortable but pillows too soft and headboard difficult to lean against due to the ornate carving. Small television. Staff helpful. Breakfast ok. Good location on edge of town. Our room was quiet but had a balcony outside with a large light on and light crept into the room around the blind at night so the room never got really dark. Overall poor value for money.

well what can i say, but simply brilliant from start to finish. we booked the Bennett room and the manager and staff were brilliant and are a credit to the William Cecil. the room was perfect and the afternoon teas was the best we have had, for many a years. The William Cecil team were brilliant and customer service was the best. I can't rate them enough, we and all the family would personal thank the team. we will most definitely be back and definitely promote the William Cecil, as its first class location, event, grounds and service
