I stayed here for 3 weeks, was really really happy with my stay. A worker by the name of (Kelly) helped significantly with my room being super clean and was tidied daily, also laundry was done for me at a great standard. Breakfast was superb and trust me make sure you try the coffee. Lastly every night it was quiet and I enjoyed a peaceful sleep

We had traveled from Sheffield and were meeting our Daughter over the weekend to celebrate my wifes birthday and the fact we hadn't seen her for over a year, but we couldn't stay at her new house, so opted for an overnight stop at the Balmoral. On arrival we were greeted enthusiastically by the host, Andrew, as if we had been there before. We were then taken to an annexe building across from the main and was shocked/surprised how the modern and olde worlde look to the room made it so cosy. I would highly recommend this guest house for anyone that needs a quick stay on a long journey or even a few nights if you have business in the area.

Have just stayed for one night. We had a room in the attached cottage. Room spacious and very clean. Breakfast was lovely with a range of options to choose from. Cooked freshly to order. Owner very helpful. Amazing value for money. Will definitely stay again.

Stayed for one night in Room 2. The owner texted me before arrival to give me all the details for self check as well as some advice for where to park. So kudos for that. With the instructions, I was able to find my own way to the room up a flight of stairs. The room was clean and comfortable, it had a sink, a TV (didn’t watch it), a kettle, tea and coffee. Basically all the usual amenities in a guest house. The bed mattress was really soft and I found it difficult to sleep comfortably, especially as the curtains were white and let in so much light, I was awake at sunrise. Then went into the shared bathroom only to find it flooded. There was a shared bathroom for the floor, which was clean and had both a shower and bathtub, I only used the former and found it functional. The water power was a bit weak, but sufficient to take a shower. There was Wifi in the hotel, but it was so slow and cut out regularly. Location wise, the guest house is about 10 minutes walk into the town centre, although there are also a few places to eat within a 5 minute walk as well. Parking is street parking only and I had no problem finding a spot. Overall, the guest house is in great condition, the stay clean and functional. For the price, it's a good place for a one stopper and there’s little to complain about. The flooding was an annoyance, but there’s not much the hotel can do about that. However, I did note that there has been some water damage around the ceiling on the first floor that had been repaired and repainted.

My trip to Darlington was to visit a relative who had been ill. I couldn't have better looked after in a luxury hotel. The friendly housekeeper who checked i had everything I needed , the waitresses who took my breakfast order and remembered my preferences the next day to the attentive host they were all first class. The food was excellent and well presented at a beautifully laid out table with miniature covered butter dish and jug of water with lemon. The room was more than I could wish for with a fan added because of the very warm weather. Overall a 5* hotel in disguise. If I make a return visit i will i will happily choose the Balmoral again.

Guest house is spotlessly clean and tidy, delicious breakfast. Owner is very accommodating. Ten minute walk to the centre of town, we would definitely return if in the area. As this accommodation is so convenient and great value. Thank you.
