We had the most amazing experience at the Hotel Sacher Salzburg. What a way to be pampered. They treat you like royalty. We can't wait to be back.
From the reservation process to the check out...everybody is super nice and friendly (but professional)
Room was very comfy and full of details...sleepers in a cute bag, sacher torte for you to try in your room, plus fruits and more treats.
Don't skip breakfast because it's delicious with a great view. Internet works very well. It's a classic hotel but with all the amenities you can ask for. Not dated at all.
Oh, and the towels, another level!!!
We had dinner twice at The Grill, yes, it was lovely! We also had dinner at the bar and had a break at the coffee shop.
We travel a lot, and this type of place, where everything is possible...I just love it! Nothing is a problem.
I am smiling while writing this feedback. We have the most beautiful memories of the Sacher Hotel Salzburg.
Thanks to everybody there, you are an amazing team.

I stayed here with my partner in the first week of March and had an excellent time. We had arrived during the off season and during a period of renovation for the hotel so we were worried about whether the service would be slower but it was not at all. The bellman met us at our cab and quickly brought our bags inside. Check-in was very easy and efficient and all of the staff were incredibly kind. As we arrived the Coronavirus had started to become an issue in Italy and Europe but the hotel was taking great care to keep the rooms and public areas clean for guests.

Our room was on the second floor and faced the river. It had an absolutely fantastic view and the rooms furnishings and amenities were the epitome of luxury. Throughout our stay the staff kept the refreshments stocked, the trash bins empty, and the room spotless. We ordered room services a number of time and the orders were filled within the half hour every time. Staff always seemed eager to ensure that we were comfortable, happy, and had all our needs met. I cannot stress enough the high quality and attentiveness of the staff in this hotel. Their attention to detail and efficiency left me extremely impressed.

During our stay we had the privilege of dining at the Sacher Grill and at the Breakfast Buffet. The Breakfast Buffet is an absolute must at least once during your stay. The food is delicious and the amount of choices are incredible.

Finally, the location of the hotel in proximity to the main attractions of the city is perfect. It is less than a 10 minute walk to the main shopping district in the old town, 5 minutes from the Mirabel Gardens, and less than 15 minutes to the base of the Fortress. It is easy to tour the entire city by walking from the hotel.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a high level of quality service during their stay but without needing to worry about snobby attitudes. The staff were some of the most helpful I've ever encountered in the hotel industry and I will certainly be staying here again if I am to return to Salzburg.

We booked a junior suite for 4 nights, arriving on Sept. 23. Upon arrival we were greeted by Jasmine, a charming lady dressed in traditional dirndl dress, who offered us the choice between two stunning rooms, the second (for a small upgrade fee) being a Panorama Junior Suite facing the fortress and the river, which immediately we fell in love for (see attached photos for reference). Opulent, grand, stunning property with all comforts where we spent some really beautifully hours and peacefully nights. All staff was exceptionally cheerful and kind (front desk, doorman, waiters) which the single exception of the young barman who probably that evening was recovering from a bad day. We had dinner at Ikarus on Wilhelm-Spazier-Straße 7A (which monthly hosts international starred chefs in a wacky location) and at Esszimmer on Müllner Hauptstrasse 33 (another must-try, starred gem).

This is a very good hotel, with nice rooms, chic design and a wonderful location. Although we had some issues

1) Our room was not ready when we arrived at 4:30pm in the afternoon. Check-in is normally at 2pm although we were informed that they had given priority to some other guests at our expense... Probably the wrong thing for the front desk to say to customers, especially those who travel half way around the world... Well, thank you for the downgrade Hotel Sacher...

2) Some rooms receive snacks and information updates, others don't. We had two rooms in our group, and the inconsistency in service was very evident (same room category for both rooms).

I am sure in normal times this is an outstanding hotel, but currently is a building site.

Don't take my word for it, read the note that greeted us from the management in the room, telling us virtually no public rooms were available, as currently a building site. No reception, no lobby, no terraces by the river, no access to the roof vantage area, in short, a room but no hotel.

Grand hotels must renovate and rebuild, but also they should not not take money from the unsuspecting public for staying in a building site.

On arrival, at a makeshift reception that had been set up in a cramped area of the coffee shop, we were made to sign a form agreeing not to take and share photos of the hotel in it's current state. Quite shocking.

We were on the 3rd floor, but as there were no lifts available from the makeshift reception, we were directed to some makeshift emergency exit style stairs to get to our room.

In fairness, once in our room it was lovely, apart from the fridge which heated rather than cooled items. Also we complained to the manager Gudrun and she was most sympathetic, agreeing with our concerns and offered us dinner.

However, this is not the point. When you pay top dollar to stay at a Small Luxury Hotel, you don't expect to be greeted at the entrance of the hotel by a construction worker, who explains that the main part of the hotel is closed for rebuilding and if you want to get in, you need to use the side door.

We were mis sold on this occasion. The hotel should have shut down completely, done the rebuild and not been greedy by continuing to sell rooms whilst the hotel was a building site.

We arrived to find our rooms were not quite ready so we were graciously offered lunch, courtesy of the hotel, until they were ready. We were shown to our rooms, one a beautiful suite with fireplace, balcony and river view and a very nice deluxe adjacent room, both beautifully appointed and comfortable. The real shining stars of the hotel are the staff.Jasmin, who helped with many situations as well as Antonia at reception are terrific assets to the Sacher. We daily enjoyed the plentiful breakfast in a nice, calm, pleasant room. The woman staff and servers from breakfast to dinner were so warm ,friendly and capable with special kudos to Katherine. One dinner a gentleman server helped procure some desired ice cream for me,which I was able to take to the room, so I thank him as well for his efforts.Truly management has done a wonderful job of choosing personnel that not only get the job done, but do it it with panache and with a real desire to please the guests. We enjoyed room service often for afternoon coffees and even a delicious dinner delivered with style and flare. We dined downstairs one night where the service was really slow, and the meal just OK The room service meal was much better! The construction caused some small inconveniences ,with some noise, but nothing to distract from the enjoyment of the stay. We were surprised to receive a parting gift of a Sacher-Torte which certainly added to the sweet memories of our visit

This is a beautiful hotel with very well appointed rooms and a fantastic location looking over the river and old city. All that is great, but the staff really set Hotel Sacher apart. From the people who met us at the car, to the front desk staff, to the housekeeping staff everyone seemed dedicated to making our stay better.

As a example, we found our room to be a bit too warm. We told the front desk about the issue and within two minutes a fellow was at our room checking the air conditioning. In no time at all he had checked the system and brought a great Dyson fan to make the room even cooler. The final result was perfect. I have never encountered the combination of helpfulness and rapid response time provided by Hotel Sacher. You probably won’t have any problems here, but if you do they will be speedily resolve.

The breakfast room was also fantastic. The room was beautiful and had an incredible selection of foods. The staff were also happy to bring just about any other breakfast item you might want. What a great way to start a day.

We also had drinks and a light meal on their terrace. The beautiful weather helped a lot, but as with the rest of the hotel the whole experience was sublime.

Hotel Sacher sets the standard for 5- star hotels

This is a lovely hotel made famous by its traditional Sacher torte that is a 'must eat' for guests. Although this is a traditional period hotel, there is a very fresh impression of cleanliness and friendliness from the start. When we arrived, the doorman allowed our friends to park their car for free whilst we explored the old town and had lunch. We had adjoining rooms and they were, clean, spacious and well set out with plenty of complementary items dotted around. You can choose a riverside view room at a premium, however we were perfectly satisfied with a road side room which was soundproofed and quiet, probably enhanced by the type of decor used - lots of fabric inlays in the wardrobe and walls, all very period in design, yet tasteful and supplemented by modern fittings. The beds were extremely comfortable and we were well rested overnight. Breakfast was extensive with traditionally dressed staff supplying freshly cooked eggs from the kitchen in addition to an extensive breakfast buffet and a fantastic touch was the traditional Sacher torte included, which I must say you cannot get enough of. This is a short walk across the river to the old town where there are lots of shops, both traditional and modern. We used the grill restaurant for lunch which could not be faulted, however service in the bar in the evening was a little slow, even though it did not appear too busy for us. Even though we experienced this, it did not take the edge off a very enjoyable 2 day stay.

In a quick two night trip to Salzburg this is the place to stay! The staff are all sooo friendly and fun, accommodate you in all regards, and go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable here.

They have bikes to borrow, will make you food not listed on their menus, beautiful breakfast display, dinner and bar can be seated next to the river, and in great location to the nearby shops, cathedral, Mozart home, fortress, etc.

The interior of the hotel is like a glitzy dome while the rooms are on the smaller end, a suite would be best (ask for it facing the river view). Showers were spacious, and there is evening turn down service which is a nice touch! Everybody knows English

We were there in October of 2019 and they were not. They’re tidy about the renovations, however we had no air conditioning (weather had been unseasonably warm) and it was loud to keep windows open. Also, the remodeling is very attractive, but our new bathroom drain was slower than molasses, so you stood in three inches of grey water while you showered.
