We stayed 1 night in room 323 during our visit to Iceland shortly after the country reopened to vaccinated travelers. The hotel wasn’t super busy.

We came over on the ferry for the day to explore the island a bit-it was a break from the mad dash between sites in southern Iceland.

The hotel is an older property with some updates. Our room had wooden floor and a decent sized updated bathroom. There’s also a very nice restaurant in the building where we ate dinner. Morning breakfast is included and had an ample array of foods-similar to what we found at most of our stops. This spot had everything we needed to rest up for the final stops in our trek.

The also have a sauna and a couple of hot tubs (what they call the spa) so we went for a soak before dinner. Very warm and located in the lower level of an adjacent wing.

Stayed the first week in September for a birthday trip with friends, had two standard rooms. The rooms are immaculately clean and of good size, bed comfy, bathroom well designed and a good shower with nice products. Definitely recommend to robe up and go to the hot tubs after a day of hiking! Very nice touch. We had breakfast included and it was absolutely perfect, highly recommended. Everything was spotless and clear COVID19 protocols in place, we felt safe, comfortable and well taken care of. Cannot recommend enough and can't wait to go back! Takk fyrir okkur :)

One of the best hotels. It was my third stay here and I will choose it again every time. Excellent location on the wonderful island of Heimaey, my room had a view over Eldfell and Helgafell, the two volcanoes on the island. The staff is friendly and helpful, the room was spatious, clean, comfortable and it had everything I needed. There is a restaurant, a sauna, luggage storage options and the staff is always there to help you. Great value for money and a pleasant place to stay while exploring beautiful Vestmannaeyjar.

We arrived at the hotel late afternoon and on arrival we were told that we could use the spa and where it was.
The room was nice and we went down to the spa. When we got down there the sauna had a sign on it saying "out of order" and one of the 2 jacuzzi's was empty, so that just left 1 jacuzzi. We got into that and then found that while it was really warm the bubbles did not work.
When we went to breakfast the following morning one of the staff was filling the cereal but did not say anything to us. We asked if we sit anywhere and was told we should. There was no other service at breakfast.

This hotel is located in the center of this quaint town not far from the port and ferry. We had a comfortable adequately sized room. The bathroom and shower were on the small side. The double bed, as In other Iceland hotels is two twins pushed together. People at the front desk were friendly and helpful. We also had a good meal at the hotel restaurant. In a good location to explore the town. There is a bar next door and a brewery nearby.

Location in town is great. Everything in town is walkable. Plenty of restaurants nearby. They have their own restaurant downstairs, but we didn't eat there. Room was spacious and well appointed with pretty views. Bathroom was the nicest we had in Iceland. Bed and bedding were great, good pillows. Good breakfast with variety. Really good eggs at breakfast. I asked for a quite room and got one at the end of the hall on an upper floor. We had corner room and could look out in 2 directions, which was really nice. Very nice esthetic to the hotel. Obviously "the" place to stay on the island. Very comfortable bed and pillows. We arrived on the ferry in the morning and they had no problem holding our luggage until the room was ready, and let us into our room early.

Slight negatives: Hot tubs and sauna are....in the basement. They would have been so much nicer outside, but they don't have any outdoor space. Hot tubs seemed crazy hot. We could last about 5 minutes in them. Maybe the difference was that we had become accustomed to hot tubs in Iceland that are outside in the cold, so it modulates it. Nice sauna. The island was the least COVID conscious place that we encountered in Iceland, and this hotel was also lacking in COVID awareness. Staff was almost completely maskless, a few had it under their chin or nose. This seemed to be the norm on the island. This was disappointing and colored our stay, especially with the hotel staff.

Spatius room, friendly staff, free hot tubs, and a great design in the breakfast restaurant.
Sauna wasn’t heated up, so we were betrayed on the opportunity to enjoy the Sauna, and the breakfast leaves a few standard needs unfulfilled.
Overall still a very recommendable hotel!

A great hotel within walking distance from ferry. Check in and check out we’re easy and front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. Our room was on an upper floor overlooking the street. Very comfortable bed, great shower, and quiet hotel. We loved being able to use the facilities downstairs- hot tub (it’s a hot tub, not a jacuzzi, so no bubbles, which was fine with us.) breakfast had a lot of options and you simply walk into the restaurant and help yourself to a table and food. There was a park across the street as well as restaurants close by. We enjoyed Brothers Brewery for drinks Tanngin for lunch and Naes for dinner- both were fabulous.

This is a pretty basic place but clean and very friendly and probably the best place in town on the Westman Islands. Got a decent night’s sleep here and the price was good for Iceland. East parking opposite. Rather odd hot tub arrangement in the basement which involves walking through a series of stairs and passageways. Close to the ferry and everything else - Heimaey isn’t a big place, but well worth a night of your time if you’re in southern Iceland. We were underwhelmed with the Einsi Kaldi restaurant on the ground floor, Gott round the corner is much better.

The hotel is clean and modern. Of course, it’s welllocated – nothing is that far in Vestmannaeyjar! The person at the front desk was helpful in advising on distances and how to get to places. The rooms were a nice size and nicely furnished. We came with our in-laws and our two kids, and this was a perfect family hotel.

We were only there one night -- in late, out early -- so I don't remember whether there was a safe or not. But I am pretty sure there was a hairdryer. It was a very well-appointed hotel.

Yes they have kettles with tea and instant coffee provided. Quite nice and best deal we’ve gotten in Iceland.
