Our family stayed in a separate 2 bedroom apartment (Green House), which was 1 min walk from the main building (Blue House), for 5 nights. Green House got its own kitchen with small fridge, bathroom and toilet. Green House was very warm though we thought it would even be better if the light could be brighter.

There was lots of snow this year and the kids liked playing snow in the garden. There was a storm on our second day. The electricity wire was badly hit by the storm and Green House was out of power. The host Melania was very kind and arranged our family to go to Blue House for cooking . Melania also tried her best to arrange repair as soon as possible. After 12 hours in the storm, electricity in Green House resumed.

We also liked the breakfast in Blue House. It was also a great experience to chat with guests from different countries during the breakfast time. We were also fortunate enough to take some aurora pictures in the garden just outside the Green House.

We would recommend this B&B to others. Even we were not driving, we could walk around 5 to 10 minute to no.11 bus stop and went to the city centre.

Great services and nice stay. Thank you Melania.

Blue House is located ten minutes from downtown by car, in a very quiet peninsula where you can rest. The kitchen and services are shared but the atmosphere is very friendly, allowing you to meet people from all over the world.
In my stay I met really nice people.
The rooms are not very big but the friendliness of the girls who run the Bnb made up for it by making me feel at home.

The girls working there are knowledgeable and attentive to detail, always smiling and ready to advise on travel routes.

Very good breakfast, with homemade bread, cold meats and jams, perfect to start a day of tourism in Iceland.

Stayed at the Blue House for about a week during my first trip to Iceland and I’m so happy I did because it really was such a great experience for me.

1. Being a solo traveler, it was nice to stay in a “cozier” setting instead of a hotel. Was nervous as I’ve never really stayed at a bed and breakfast before but it worked out well. It kinda felt like I was staying over at a friend’s house!

2. I’d recommend booking direct with Blue House so you can get breakfast for free in the mornings! They have a fresh, simple selection of foods that is a great way to power up before a fun day tour.

3. Please take careful note of the location when you are booking. Don’t expect to walk out and be right in the downtown area. I personally loved being farther out from the main downtown area and you will as well especially if you rent a car or don’t mind taking the bus like I did! I even got to see a bit of the northern lights right down the street from this house on my last night there!

4. The rooms and facilities are nice+clean and they have good signage throughout the house to make it easy for you to navigate from day 1. Please take note the bathrooms here are shared, you will not have a private bathroom to yourself.

5. Special shout-out to Alessandra and Andrea for being such amazing hosts during my stay there. They were quick to answer any questions I had and gave helpful recommendations that helped me manage my itinerary while I was there. I’d definitely recommend this place to any friends that are visiting the Reykjavik area!

Noisy rooms (thin walls), unconfortable mattress... and in addition they over-charged our credit card (still waiting refund).

Before arrival all nice messages, once you are there, they only think on money. Avoid it. It is cheap but at the end it doesn't worth!!!!

We have been to the Blue House on the first day of our journey and the host was so friendly and gave us so much information and good advices for our trip that we decided to stay there again on the last day of our trip. Also it has a very beautiful location (near the lighthouse) and the breakfast was so delicious (the host even made the bread on her own!). Thank you for the pleasant stay!

Blue House will be our choice when visiting Iceland and Reykjavik again. We really loved the location - 10 minutes by the car to downtown, 3 minutes to local geothermal pool (entrance - 7 EUR for adult, 1 EUR for a child) and the best spot to hunt for the Northen Lights (aurora). We were lucky to watch aurora from the backyard of the guest house. Breakfast is tasty, rooms and showers are clean and hosts are welcoming and supportive. During the breakfasts you have a chance to get acquinted to the guests from al around the globe. Grotta lighthouse is a walking distance. Neto and Bonus supermarkets are at the easy reach. We loved the Aurora Museum and FlyOver Iceland attraction which is some 7 minutes by car at the harbour area.

A little bit off the beaten path, this gem is nestled in a cute neighborhood, just minutes from lots of lovely seashore walking paths as well as the Grotta lighthouse. It's right on a bus line into downtown, so everything in town is very accessible. The rooms are clean and cozy, the breakfasts much appreciated, and the hosts were fantastic, always friendly and willing to help guests figure out how to get the most out of their time in Iceland. Thanks for a great stay!

Bluehouse B&B is highly recommend to travelers who want to stay in a homey place. Being a solo traveler, it is a good location to meet other travelers.

Shout out to Alessandra, and Andrea for being a great hosts. They willingful give me information about what places to visit as they have joined the tours by themselves.

Breakfast is aslo another good point - from freshly baked breads to cold cuts, fruits and skyr. The table is always ready before you start your day.

Location is perfect for the northern lights - and the staff keeps giving updates about the solar activities.

Overall a great experience - warmth in the coldness lf the ice :)

I absolutely loved staying at the Blue House for my very first trip to Iceland. The space was clean, quaint, and beautiful. The location of this B&B is unique because it has a magnificent ocean view where you can watch the sunset each evening. Beyond the amenities, what really makes the Blue House special are the kind hosts. You'll never believe this - I lost my engagement ring diamond on the last day of my trip and I was devastated. I searched everywhere I could remember, retracing all of my steps in tears. I had no choice but to leave Iceland without it, and I had to confront the fact that I would never see my diamond again. Until, a week later, Andrea emailed me to let me know that they had FOUND my diamond while they were cleaning the property! I was ecstatic, and Andrea kindly shipped my diamond back to the United States. I would have lost a very sentimental and costly possession forever if it weren't for the kind and thoughtful people at the Blue House. I would definitely stay here again if I return to Iceland in the future!

We had a wonderful stay: a nice welcome by both hosts who were happy to answer all our questions and give the best tips for (alternative) must-sees! Very cozy rooms, the house exudes a homely atmosphere and you immediately feel at home and at ease. Nice breakfast, spacious bathroom, quiet neighborhood, perfectly accessible with a scooter from the center of the capital. Ideally located for a walk on the beautiful peninsula. Highly recommended on all levels. Definitely book more than 1 night!
