Many guests praise the Oddsson Midtown Hotel for its clean, comfortable rooms, though some find the space a bit tight and lacking in storage. The hotel's amenities, including varied breakfast choices and handy charging outlets, are well-liked, as is the efficient service, which features convenient self-check-in. While the location is seen as favorable for those with a car, the hotel is also accessible via nearby bus routes for others. The hotel's modern atmosphere and cleanliness, especially in the bathrooms and dining areas, are frequently highlighted, contributing to the property's perceived good value.

We enjoyed our weeklong stay here in this quiet hotel located just outside downtown Reykjavik. We slept well as it was very quiet at night, and the hotel has a pretty decent buffet-style breakfast available every morning from 7am-10am.

There is no front desk here, but two days before check-in I received a door code that allowed entrance in to the lobby (from outside) and in to our room. We never had a single issue with using the door code, and never had a need for a front desk. I did have a question for staff while there and I was able to email the hotel and get a response fairly quickly. There is also a restaurant / bar inside the hotel lobby, so there are staff on site for most of the day.

The hotel is a good 45-minute walk from Hallgrimskirkja, the massive church that's more or less in the heart of downtown Reykjavik. It's not a bad walk, but that's just to give you an idea of where you are in relation to downtown. The good thing is that if you're taking some of the day tours that are available, you'll most likely be the last group picked up in the morning, and the first group dropped off at night (which is perfect after a long day sightseeing and traveling in a bus/shuttle).

Would stay here again if we're lucky enough to return to Reykjavik.

Our very first time in Reykjavik and not going to lie the hotel was a real stab in the dark however I am still in shock on how this hotel is rated so low as in the star rating.
It's staff are absolutely amazing and the rooms are phenomenal, there clean spacious and bathrooms are very modern including an amazing shower/ wetroom.
The hotel is basic but has everything you could possibly ask for including breakfast which was served as a open buffet brilliantly very clean and everything was topped up instantly.
If you don't mind just being about 10 minutes away from the town center it is perfect and not forgetting with the location you will save alot of money on accomodation plus you have a large supermarket and a few nice restaurants walking distance because as I think I can speak for everyone by saying Iceland ain't exactly the cheapest of countries to visit lol.

This hotel has everything you would ever need, if they don't have it, ask, and staff are extremely accommodating.

Read up all you can on here and elsewhere before you go so you get the best out of your holiday. We asked for a kettle and extra pillows and they were brought up immediately by the receptionist. We travelled with Fleetway travel and booked with the town tour, the northern lights and the blue lagoon.

The room is lovely, very modern, all English channels, bathroom with heated floor and fluffy towels, cleaned everyday.

Breakfast was amazing, boiled eggs , a proper toaster, waffle maker, freshly cut fruit and fresh fruit juices of two to three kinds, no watered down ones here!
What would have been good would have been a dairy free milk, though I bet if you would have asked they would have brought one out!

For a three star hotel, it was pretty fabulous. Maybe a vending machine and some snack food for lunchtime or when stuck in with the bad weather may be a good idea.
We went over the road to the pizza place who had banana and dates as toppings for the pizza, twice, very good value with 2 for 1 one one or two days.

Also a lovely bakery cafe, two streets up to the right, then just over the road at the lights. Sandwiches, coffees with dairy free milks, cakes, and lots more.

We never got to the northern lights because of the weather but thanks to the excellent service of greyline minibuses and coaches we went on our trips and to the airport . Polite and English speaking drivers, on time and safe drivers, pick up from hotels and drop off at hotel.
We got a taxi to Perlan as we really enjoyed our first trip there so went twice.
Great little break, highly recommended hotel, warm, safe, comfortable, welcoming, thank you ❤️

Stayed 3 nights here with my partner and can't find any faults with the place. The self service check in and out is ideal. The bar area is very modern and comfortable. Hotel staff were so friendly and helpful, we booked a couple of trips through the hotel. Location is on the right side of the city so it meant any pickups and drop offs from airport or trips were right to/from hotel. The hotel room was a decent size and bathroom was very big with a decent powerful shower. Only slight negatives were uncomfortable pillows (too soft) and could do we a bit more storage but this wouldn't stop me returning. The walk into the city centre was about 40 mins which is nice way to take in the views, another option is a taxi which is reasonable cost for Reykjavik. All in all we had a great stay.

We stayed here as a base for our 3 day visit to Iceland.
We booked through Fleetway travel, & this was the included hotel.
This is a new hotel, located on the outskirts of Reykjavik. We arrived late in the evening. On check in we were advised that the hotel is keyless & were given codes to enter the room. We booked an economy double room which was more than sufficient for our stay. The room is very modern decor, & the bathroom has underfloor heating.
Buffet breakfast was included; this had fruits, hams & cheeses, pastries & somewhere to make your own waffles.
The hotel is about 30 mins walk from downtown Reykjavík, which is doable when the weather is agreeable. Otherwise there is a bus stop outside the hotel with frequent services to town. The hotel doesn’t do evening meals, but there is a pizza takeout next to the hotel which does do value deals & the hotel staff don’t mind you sitting in the reception area with your food.
We liked this hotel & would happily stay here again.

Beds are very comfortable and the hotel is very clean. At night it is very quiet so can get a good sleep. Taxis available opposite to get to the center of Reykjavik will cost about £23. Downloaded the "Hopp" app and made use of the never-ending electric scooters which cost about £3 and took just over 20 mins to get there. Breakfast was well organized and tables were always cleaned when someone gets up. Self-service entry works well but little annoying that when the room is ready still have to wait till 3 pm for the code to grant you access to the room especially after a long day. English channels on the TV which is a bonus. Always the first to be dropped back after excursions I found! The only negative is the website says there is a safe in the room which there was not but the hotel seemed very safe regardless.

The Oddsson was for us the most perfect place to stay on a short visit to Iceland. We were impressed with the hotel itself, clean bright and cheerful, the staff were very helpful, breakfast varied and well presented. You could walk into the city centre if so inclined but there were four buses that ran frequently which you could catch across the road . The flat fare operated by the bus line meant that you could go as far as you wished at very good price. The hotel has a small bar that was open in the evening and just up the road was an excellent take away pizza shop if you decided not to eat in the city centre.

This hotel is a bit out of the centre of Reykjavik but is on a main road and has bus stops only a few steps away so is convenient if you want to get into the city centre or out to Perlan Planetarium.
The hotel opened mid 2019 so is new, clean, modern and has everything you could need. The staff are excellent, helpful, friendly and speak great English.
We stayed as part of a 3 night trip with Fleetway Travel so the rooms were booked on our behalf and our excursions were organised for us with Gray Line who picked us up from the hotel either en route to an excursion or to take us to the transport hub to join larger vehicles.
My son and I had single rooms which were small but had extremely comfortable beds, excellent bathrooms with walk in showers and as much space as we needed for our short stay. The only additional thing required would have been a kettle to make a hot drink in the room.
I was on floor 5 and had a good view over the adjoining buildings to the hills in the distance. My son was on floor 4 where the view was not quite so good.
The rooms were extremely quiet - I feel they must have excellent sound proofing. I wasn't ever aware of other people in neighbouring rooms or in the corridor.
Breakfastis buffet style with the option to cook your own waffles. There was plenty of choice.
I'd certainly choose to stay there again.

Upon arrival our room made a horrible high pitched noise whenever the wind blew (which, in Iceland in January is pretty much permanently!). The reception staff found us a new room which was actually an upgrade for no extra cost which I thought was going above and beyond what they needed to do for us.

It was clean, modern and comfortable, and reception staff were very knowledgeable of the area and how to get around.

Very good location for all the standard day trips, greyline etc pick up from there, but it is a long walk or most likely a bus/taxi into the main town centre.

Decent enough breakfast in the morning, particularly the waffle making machine!

We stayed here for 3 nights to finish off our trip to Iceland. It is about 10 minutes drive from the centre of Reykjavik, so it’s worth to keep that in mind. We had a car, so we could easily drive in/out or get a taxi. You’re able to call a taxi from the phone in the lobby and it arrives promptly. You’re looking at about 2800 to 3100 Icelandic Krona for a trip to the centre. There are also bus stops very near by and a bonus is that this place is within a ten minute walk to the location where you need to get your Covid tests to fly home.

We received all the information needed prior to booking. The self check in and code for the room was hassle free - we loved not having to remember or worry about keys/a key card. We arrived relatively late on our first night and didn’t manage to get parking on the on-site car park, however we parked on a street outside in front of the cyber cafe. The rooms were a good size and had everything we needed. The beds and the shower were absolutely amazing!! The hotel is so quiet, which is a huge bonus. We found the continental breakfast to be good and there was a good choice available. It was a great addition to have that available in the stay. The rooms and lobby were spotlessly clean and the staff we did meet, mainly at breakfast, were lovely and friendly. I would highly recommend a stay here and wouldn’t hesitate to come back if in Iceland again.

There is a local bus stop right across the hotel. The bus stop is beside the parking lot across the hotel. The local bus can take you to Downtown Reykjavík. I believe the check in counter in the hotel has maps available as I saw some guests asking for it.
