Detailed Reviews
We had a good experience here. We arrived around lunch time and our room was available. The room was clean and very spacious with tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was a surprise as we were just expecting a cold buffet but there was bacon, beans, scrambled egg and mushrooms in addition to the usual continental offering so a good breakfast. The location is just out of the main city centre area (approx 15 minute walk) but we enjoyed walking into the city. (If you don't want to walk, you can catch the No. 15 bus outside the Hilton). Also, being outside the main city centre area means that you get picked up from the hotel for trips and airport transfers which is good. If you are reading my review then I guess you are planning a trip to Iceland so here are a few tips...Airport Direct provide good airport transfers and are very efficient and easy to contact. I booked a Golden Circle minibus tour via Trip Advisor (My Bus Tours) and it was fab - highly recommend and better than going on the larger coaches that do not give you so much time at each spot. If you walk to town, just as you get to the main shops you will see, on the right hand side, a food court area and the food in here is fab and good value (by comparison). Reykjavik is very expensive but the food court has a range of food to buy and Icelandic food at reasonable prices. Also try Icelandic Street Food - they have 2 outlets on the main street. We had the soup in bread and a free refill!! Alcohol is expensive so look for the Happy Hour signs outside venues. They all have Happy Hours at slightly different times of day from early afternoon through to 7pm. Drinks during Happy Hour are roughly the same price as Britain. Anything in the shops on the main city centre street is expensive. Icelandic jumpers approx £150. Anything in 66 degrees North is extortionate. Even small souvenirs are seldom less than £10 so be prepared. Try the shopping malls out of town if you want to buy stuff. On the whole though...good hotel with good service (and they will store your bags for your prior to departure) and Iceland is a fabulous place to visit.

The hotel was clean, receptionists helpful and you had access to tea/coffee and lemon water throughout the day at no extra cost. We had breakfast included which consisted of bacon, scrambled or boiled egg, beans, mushrooms, sausage. Selection of bread, cheese, cold meats. 3 types of cereal and fruit & yoghurt available so plenty variety.
We were in room 104 which is ground level. Although the room itself was clean & tidy the window overlooked the road so you could see & hear people walking past which wasn't ideal. If I stayed at this hotel I'd request a room on an upper level.
The hotel was a good 30-40 minute walk to the main high street so there was a lot of walking. For ease we'd likely book a hotel that's more central if we visited Iceland again. That's nothing against this hotel but time is precious when you have lots to fit in over a 3night stay.
As the hotel is not as central as others one benefit is that you are collected from your hotel for any excursions as opposed to standing outside at a designated point.
Had a fab time in Iceland and we'd love to visit again to try all the things we didn't have time for.

What a great spot! The downstairs has a hostel vibe, with coffee/tea/hot chocolate on demand, microwave etc.
The rooms are lovely and incredibly quiet, which was much appreciated when we landed after a sleepless overnight flight.
The manager was very helpful and accommodating (early check-in!).
The water temperature in the shower was really challenging to get right: both times we stayed (different rooms), it would wind up scalding
It would have been nice to have glasses in the room rather than having to use paper cups from downstairs. And a bath mat! We were able to grab an extra towel from the laundry room.
In terms of location, it’s right by a bus stop if you don’t feel like walking to the old town, has a grocery store and pharmacy around the corner, and is a 10 minute walk to one of Reykjavik’s oldest public pools with great hotpots.
If you’re getting an airport shuttle bus, it’s just up from the Hilton Nordica.

A successful attempt to blend a hostel and hotel together, this place has touchless check in and processing. I loved being able to get in the door with a code, get my key card with a code and go directly to my room. Do I worry they never change the codes and one day that might be a security risk? Yes. But I accepted it. The rooms are small with not great sound proofing, but private, cozy, functional, and bathrooms are small and worked. I would like at least one more hook for wet stuff but more importantly- the rainshower head was not working for us and the water spills everywhere in the bathroom. You can see the damage on the wood door already. Also- no washcloths. I had brought my own but be aware. I also couldn't really figure out the towel warmer/heater thing.
The vending machines, free coffee, basic plates/cutlery/snack drawer were perfect when you need them. I could not figure out breakfast- one morning there was a huge delicious spread. Other mornings, nothing! Was it one big group that set it up? Who knows!! Expect nothing. Leaving luggage was easy, elevators worked fine, everything seemed very clean and kept up. If your priority is to save a chunk of money on hotel and you are ok with a car or bus tours, this will be a good choice since it's easy to get to and there are grocery/restaurants around. For a first trip with no car though, I would say it's worth a bit more money to get a center city hotel. The buses and taxi systems just aren't secure enough for foreigners to rely on and it's so much time/energy getting to and from without a car.

Great choice of hotel. About a 40 min walk into town. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good. Note to the chef... the scrambled eggs are well overdone, like rubber! Sorry 🙁 Other than that pretty good. Happy hour 3 til 6. Beers ok wine not so.
The room is comfortable and clean. The bed even more so. Huge wall mounted tv with all freeview channels BBC ITV etc. The showers are hot however the water being from the natural geothermal rocks smells of Sulphur. Can anything be done about this? All our tours picked up from this hotel. Greyline. There is a good chinese takeaway around the corner if you want to eat in one night after an exhausting day.
Overall excellent value. Would recommend.

Although a 3 star hotel, it was very clean, very welcoming and staff, especially receptionist Kate & deputy manager Jose, were friendly, very caring and offered great customer service. The 2 of them went the extra mile. The availability of coffees & teas at any time in Breakfast room was an added bonus. We had a great time.

The hotel is comfortable and clean. What they lack is the quality of breakfast. Scrambled eggs were dry every morning and unpalatable, bread was dry telling me that it was stale, and limited choices. Interaction between employees and guests is basically nil. The staff will not greet the guests in the breakfast area or even the front desk staff, unless you ask them something.
This property does have capability to increase the standing by becoming more friendly and improving it's breakfast.
For the tariff the rooms are good and the cleaning staff does do it's part to keep the rooms clean.

Upon arrival, the building was clean and parking space wasn’t a problem.
My partner and I arrived at 11:30am and check in wasn’t until 3, however, the kind staff had our room available for us which I think was great customer service! I am terrible with remembering names but the head of cleaning lady was super at what she does and always made sure the community area was always clean and bins were always emptied. Anytime we saw her around the hotel she always said hello and asked how our day was. The booking manager at this self service hotel was so helpful and made sure her guests were well looked after and loved to help or answer any questions we had about the area. The community area has 2 coffee machines that were free of charge and was always stocked with recyclable cups and delicious coffee!
This whole country is beautiful and when I return again I will definitely be using the Hotel Muli again! Thankyou for having us ❤️

Good value hotel, friendly and helpful staff, very clean, modern bathrooms. Good selection of food at the buffet breakfast and free tea and coffee available 24 hours a day. Also 'buy one get one free' wine and beer during happy hour! Walking distance to the old part of the city too.

Couldn’t wait until we left to review. If you’re looking for pampering, this isn’t your place. This hotel was part of an airfare, hotel, northern lights tour deal. Candidly, we never would have looked twice at this property. If you need super convenience and a place to sleep, great choice. We had an overnight flight and arrived in Reykjavik around 8am. We had a rental car so being in the mix of downtown wasn’t necessary. This hotel was completely contactless. You are given code to door and room key box. We stopped at the hotel at 9:30am, hoping for an early check in, yes! We were able to access our room and get a few hours sleep. Management has no idea how much we appreciate this! That in itself earned at 5 star from me. This would never happen at fancier hotels. Room was adequate size, towel warmer in bath, heater works too good. There’s a coffee/tea bar with appliances to fix your own food, microwave, toaster, waffle maker. There’s also a full laundry to include detergent. Parking is a breeze. We have no complaints, very satisfied and would absolutely stay again or recommend to friends.

We got our shuttle from Blue Lagoon- mostly you get dropped off at the bus depot on the edge of town and then smaller shuttles take you to your hotel directly.
There are bus stops within a quarter mile walk however they are not set up for foreigners in their app and I gave up trying to figure it out and walked a lot. We managed since we ordered shuttles for most stuff and did not want to worry about driving in winter, but if you feel confident about driving that really is the better way.
No, I don’t believe there is.
From what I believe they only provide cups
Coach transfer from Keflavik airport to the hotel can take between 60 and 90 minutes.
All coach operators go to their respective depots where you transfer to a minibus to continue to your hotel.
Airport to coach depot takes 45 minutes.
The minibus section varies - dependent on how many hotel drops are being done.
I would recommend Gray Line.
It's cheaper than the other operators.
